Sean is probably one of the most unrrated in the show owing to his military training. Given how he has aged he is probably a match for even the mitchells now, plus he has a motto "If you have the shot you take it"
He was ex-special forces, easily one of the hardest EE characters after the Mitchell brothers and Jack.

@@H.K.5 You're right being in the Special Forces does not make you invincible however it makes you a lot more smarter with everything and Sean gives off the impression of a Paratrooper(known to be quite aggressive) as he's aggressive towards everyone he bumps into.

I would say Grant was harder when they were in their primes but Phil is a close second. That Ravi is up there too.
Jack's punch on Phil will always be one of the best i've seen
And Phils punch on Den will always be my absolute favourite. When he knocks him from one end of the bar to the next with a Left!
Jack was lucky. Phil usually beats him every time in one on one combat.

Yeah they were great characters and good rivals for the Mitchell brothers (although they barely had any beef with Phil).
Dennis is number one for me, always will be the toughest Eastenders ever had and the best character ever. I hope they bring him back somehow. I think they will soon.
And I can’t believe Den Watts isn’t in the top 15. He should be top 3
He wasn’t really the toughest considering he got ragdolled by Grant and Den doesn’t have any feats good enough to make the top 15, let alone the top 3.
The scuffle with Grant lasted a few seconds and Dennis was unprepared.
The pub was dark. He’d just woken up and seen Chrissy scared.
Grant picked him up and threw him against the piano then picked up a stool.
Hardly a fair boxing fight. Dennis would beat Grant in a one on one fight imo.
Den Watts was tough when he was younger and he was the master of manipulation, even in his older age. He was always three steps ahead of everyone else.
Den hardly ever used his fists because he didn’t have to, he was always the smartest.
Look how he set Phil up for that armed robbery. That was Den.

I never thought of Mark Fowler as a hard man. Clyde Tavernier is going back some . I miss Sean Slater he was a great character. Jack Branning too. Grant Mitchell definitely deserves the prize. It's why he's one of my favourite characters ever .

2003-2005 was peak Eastenders. Went into terminal decline after the Get Johnny week. Losing Sharon, Dennis and Den and having nothing meaningful for Phil to do killed the show.
I agree. 1999-2001 was good too.

Clyde is the most underrated fighter in the soapland franchise. Easily Top 10, won 2 boxing matches, threw some good punches and won a fight. I'm glad you placed Mick where we is, he's overrated in my opinion.
Good list. I'd actually rank Mick, Martin and Keanu lower if I remade this list, although my top 8 would stay exactly the same. I'm uploading a top 30 soap list soon and Mick isn't even in it.
@@H.K.5 What about Max? Although Mick punched him I think Max would still beat him. He did turn him over in their little grapple a few years back but Max was drunk, pls when he was punched he didn't oppose much of a defence.

@@Darskul He beaten Jack once in a schuffle during a party in the Vic, all his punches have either done damage or knocked someone down.
Mick punching Max means nothing. Yes he beat Max in a schuffle in the street but Max was drunk, people need to stop overrating Mick. He has a few good feats but we saw a few months back, he's beaten Stuart serval times for him to then get dropped. Mick punched Max and that automatically makes him harder, no it doesn't.

Look up Phil’s punches when he was in his prime and you’ll see proper technique from him as opposed to someone like Martin.
@H.K.5 lol I can't believe I'm having a debate about Martin fowlers punch technique hahah but for a start, he isn't wearing boxing gloves but as a qualified judge, he's always in control of his shots, over hand and the hook, his elbow also comes right behind his fist on the same trajectory with his whole body weight behind the punch.
I wouldn't wanna eat one for lunch. 😅

Grant definately number 1 but not so sure about Phil being number 2. He likes a scrap but seemed to be getting knocked out by nearly everyone else in the clips.
Dan Sullivan is a close number 2 to Grant in my book. As big and tough as Grant with just fewer filmed fights to prove his status.

I think Phil in his prime back in the early 90's beats anyone in EastEnders apart from Grant.
This is why I don't miss EastEnders in the slightest.

@@H.K.5 one evening in 1997 I watched an episode where it was all kicking off and screaming and shouting and I just got up and turned it off and never watched it again except one new years eve around a friend's house I saw Janine roll Barry down a hill and kill him and I pissed myself laughing. I don't watch telly now.

5. Sean - replacement Dennis which is why I never liked him but still his fights were always good

Dennis never fought with any actual hardmen and Dan’s best feat is pinning Phil to a wall. Vincent and Ravi are both above anyone in your list apart from Phil and Grant.
@@H.K.5 of course, I was gonna put Ravi but since you made the list before he came I figured I'd leave it. If we're talking now Ravi is definitely #1, Grant (in his prime) would still handle him though.
Dan vs Vincent would've been a decent fight size wise plus both could handle themselves. Dan never backed down & although Vincent started off well he shit himself and went out like a bitch in the end.
Dennis used to box so I'd still put him above Phil and would give Ravi a good workout

Dennis Rickman was tough I thought, yeah in fights he wasn't great but he held his own against a good few hard men. Especially when he really didn't have any backup or anything like that.

@@H.K.5 Milligan and frater one was vicious, Brocken nose at the least plus he didn’t get up like Dennis, plus Dennis hardly marked 9:10 Phil was just reacting after being wound up but 10:45 was him in war mode the walk up before the punch builds it up even more. Both good punches though
@@sleepydank8330 The one on Dennis looked more realistic and powerful though, in my opinion.
@@H.K.5 because the one on Dennis is shot at close camera angle so you may say that but looking powerful and doing real two different things, the after effects of both punches speak for itself, Dennis is barley marked and gets up immediately Milligan stays down and his nose is broken
@@sleepydank8330 The punch on Milligan might have had a better outcome but I still prefer the one on Dennis due to how powerful and realistic it looked. His punch on Jimmy Coogan was brilliant too.
Mark Fowler had good head movement , he must train with Mayweather junior
Dennis and johnny should have fought it out that day. Johnny was after him from then on.

It was brilliant by some of the scenes before the fights bring back great memories. Therefore I found myself laughing out loud a lot.

Nice list although I think Martin & Keanu was a bit too high.
The only reason I even ranked Keanu in this list was because of how well he did against Martin. If it wasn't for that fight scene, he'd barely make the top 20.
@@H.K.5 i don't Martin's top ten either tbh. Stuart did MUCH better against Martin than Keanu did.
@@tomhiggins6542 Martin and Stuart never actually fought, they just hit each other one time. Keanu and Martin had an all-out brawl and Keanu put up a better fight than Stuart would I think.
Tbh, I think it's really difficult to rank a lot of the tier 2 hardmen, as a lot of them haven't fought/been around at the same time, so I could see them being put in any order

Den was hard but probably not top 15 worthy. Johnny was definitely not a hardman though.
