NIce work on that blindside back. Rates are terrible out of Florida. The reefer loads offered at $2/ mile have 9 stops on them, its crazy. $2 isnt enough for 1P 1 D on a reefer load but that is how crazy the spot market is right now. It was a good move deadheading , Ive done the math on some of these cheap loads and if you think you are at least covering fuel you are not in some cases. If you know your MPG loaded vs empty some of these loads would cost you money vs running empty and using less fuel to get to a better market. Good luck and keep grinding. Thanks for the content I enjoy following your travels. Stay safe!
So many owner ops don't understand this concept. I keep preaching the same thing. Alot of them have the mentality that as long as there loaded and moving then there making money. You would be surprised how many owner ops don't even understand how to calculate there fuel or operation costs

Hey bro in one of your videos I saw you talking about splitting the axles. Do not NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES go dump valve, sometimes you can't get in front of the trailer trying to chase it because it's pivoting on the axle If your going to split, get liftables on both axles, or tandem with midlift (like on pepsi or coke trucks) with snow you will be screwed trying to back up to a dock (tears mud flaps up on the tag axle the mud flap gets stuck on the snow then you run over a 35 dollar mud flap so in this scenario you'll need tag up) or trying to make turns with snow riding mid up instead of tag up adds another 10 feet plus however far the snow is pushed out but riding tag up all the time makes for a very bouncy ride. Also if you don't have an ez pass you only have to pay for the axles touching the ground (at least that's how it used to be)....just something to think about
Oh I’m aware I will never turn a tandem axle into a spread axle it’s very expensive and I’m going to buy a spread axle not sure if I’m going to go with fixed or sliding but I’m going to put lift axle on front and rear
Ga was always kinda slow for freight especially around that area~used to pick up carpet outta Dalton taken it to mMenards in Shelby,Iowa good miles then you would reload outta the DC and deliver to one of the stores usually somewhere in Ohio or Indiana
I’ve been driving for 25 years and the one thing I learned is you have to have a regular customer that you service on a consistent basis or a broker that has a customer with the same lane because running strictly off load boards is not very profitable you can get a very profitable contract with UPS on track FedEx and the likes and you are very rarely afterwards ever have to look at a load board.
You can avoid Nashville traffic on Briley Pkwy(155). Catch I-840, and you can smooth sail thru Bro. I hate Nashville traffic. So I thought I'd share my Lil cut thru. Lol
Hey loving the videos boss. Two questions what air ride are you running in looking for one can’t decide, and two have you thought about doing the California hook ups on your truck
If you had a load headed towards home at $1.50/mi you’d at least be paying for some of the fuel. Assuming 5 mpg at $4/gal. I know that you already know that. Hopefully you get better mileage than that too. I think if I was going owner operator I’d try and get a truck that’s more aerodynamic. Your truck is beautiful though and I can see why you enjoy it. Hopefully you’re also saving for new tires. They come up when you least expect it. Great videos.
Understand what you are saying but that is exactly why freight stays so cheap. People will run it just to get home. Just enough to pay for diesel. Nothing else. People keep accepting it , why would they raise the rate if someone will haul it for next to nothing?
Freight is cheap because everyone went out and bought a truck when the economy was booming. Now the economy is tanked and there’s more trucks then freight.
I understand your logic but i didn’t get in this business to haul freight just to cover fuel cost and be in somebody data base that this carrier hauls for cheap. I’m not running at a lost while loaded. I will rather run at a lost empty and have less wear and tear
@@InterstateMadeMe couldn’t agree more. Don’t understand how some people sleep at night knowing they’re getting bent over like that. People need to realize that no shipper is paying the cost of fuel to move a load. Someone is eating a tomahawk with YOUR money ….
