Safety officer looking happier again with new fan-mail! I noticed on this one you didn't tack weld the eye onto the rod while it was in the lathe - was this because it was such a snug fit or something else?
Enjoy watching your channel. All the way from Texas. Can't believe your a one man operation. Do you ever sleep? Have you ever seen Abom79? He does a lot of Lathe work. He used to work for Motion industries rebuilding hydraulic cylinders. Has alot of information. I like the way you do so many operations on the lathe without removing the work.
Once again an excellent video. The engineering, welding, and even painting looked great, however the filming and editing is exceptionally good. Do you have a background in TV or film making Mrs "Cutting edge engineering".? As always, regards to Homeless.
Really great videos, I started work in a shop similar to yours but on a much smaller scale, the firm I worked for made scales and measuring equipment, that could literally weigh the ink in a full stop on a sheet of A4 paper, but then my career changed, I went into Londons Metropolitan Police, and after 30+ years in that, went and worked for a High Court judge, but watching your videos, with the sounds of metal being machined, I can still smell the hot metal and the distinctive smell of the coolant. Bring back great memories, but I don’t think we would have got away with your safety officer in the 60s, very well done. ( love the out-takes by the way.)
I follow and love your videos and by including the beautiful doggie I don’t miss anything Goddess and keep up the good work I remember wen I was in welding trade School
On the spinning tool holder couldn’t you put 2 tools on it? One facing the work and on the other side facing toward you. That way you just spin it 180° and your ready to go. You could also do 4 tools if you really wanted to. Would this work for you? Or is there some reason why this wouldn’t work?
Hey mate, the reason I don't put 4 tools in the tool post my hands are working very close to that area and will often hit/punch exposed tools if they are in the way. Yes quick change tool post is on order, yet to determine if it's the right one haha
Surprising amount of work in that cylinder rod Kurtis and thank you for sharing the job, I really enjoyed it. That D11 is a really cool bit of kit, not the biggest out there now but in my opinion it is the best. Regards from Wales

Hey mate the next update won't be for a little while. It's a project when I've got some downtime which is almost never 🤣
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering Understood, paying jobs come first.
Yeah, finally made it. Thanks for another week of shiny metal! My first view of that oil can made me think it was the world’s toughest chew toy for Homeless! 😂
No bananas were harmed in the making of this video.
I guess all you needed was a handle, and you become the lord of the cling-wrap!
Thanks for another great one, and enjoy your weekend, Team!
Hey Geoff hope you've had a good week mate. A handle and a tiny roll helped haha. Cheers😎👍
Brother, thank you for making my office morning here in Hamburg, Germany less boring! :-) Stay safe! Cheers!
Hahaa happy to help mate glad you can enjoy the vid and have a good Friday 😎👍
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering Same to you! :-) You´re doing a great job!!
Safety officer looking happier again with new fan-mail! I noticed on this one you didn't tack weld the eye onto the rod while it was in the lathe - was this because it was such a snug fit or something else?
I agree, that really was one of the cutest boring bars you've ever used.
4 inches is NOT small IF your describing the Diameter...
It is rather small if your describing it's Length however...
Pure art. Thank you for a top quality piece of entertainment. Just got to love a man that is good at his job. And a lady that is too!
Thanks Steve glad you enjoyed it
Agree !!!
Honestly dude, love your videos, watch every single one as soon a you post!
hey mate thanks for supporting the vids glad you enjoy them
You sir, are a LEGEND, homeless is gorgeous and the camera lady, what a team!
No leaking of oil allowed on mining sites ... must be the equivalent of 'no eggs are to be broken when making omelettes'
You want it to look standard, no bother here it is, great finish Curtis.
Once again an excellent video. The engineering, welding, and even painting looked great, however the filming and editing is exceptionally good. Do you have a background in TV or film making Mrs "Cutting edge engineering".? As always, regards to Homeless.
Hi Ian! Thank you for watching. I'm self taught also with the video and editing but always had a passion for photography 😄 Mrs CEE
Thanks for the info. All of the stuff that both of you do is excellent. Kindest regards to you both, and of course Homeless. Take care.
Good job Kurtis, I like the one hit of the hammer to insert the bush to depth!!!!
Agree !!!
I'm a simple man.. when i see a new CEE vid, i click it
Good choice mate 👏😏
I follow and love your videos and by including the beautiful doggie I don’t miss anything Goddess and keep up the good work I remember wen I was in welding trade School
Thanks for the upload. I was starting to watch News, and I don't need that, it's depressing.
We agree! Almost never watch that shit. Enjoy the vid mate
The splash page has measurements in bananas…. That’s scandalous!
the wisest know it's 7 bunches long 😏😂
People need to watch things like this to get a better understanding of what just makes the world go round!
Gotta say top job ,beautiful mate .
On the spinning tool holder couldn’t you put 2 tools on it? One facing the work and on the other side facing toward you. That way you just spin it 180° and your ready to go. You could also do 4 tools if you really wanted to. Would this work for you? Or is there some reason why this wouldn’t work?
A quick change toolpost would be a good idea for the lathe.
@@keithgutshall9559 If I remember correctly he said hes getting one.
Regards from Wales
larch1969 nice one man and wife and the dog to keep it up thanks david...from the u/k.....
@ 32:01 So that's how large Clock Springs R made... ROFL
I love the 145 RPM Spinole speed at 6:47. Fr tho great work lol
Thank you team. Iwish my math skills were better. A small lathe is on my wish list. I am in to black powder guns.
Hey mate. Love the videos, the way you convey your knowledge in the videos and how well there put together. Takes me back to when I was an apprentice learning the trade. Great watch
Can you push around this 230 kg rod for me? Lol that shit isn't moving.
