DIY SEA SALT SPRAY / BEACH HAIR

- So I feel like sea salt spray is pretty popular in the summer, buuut it's expensive! So I tried to create my own at home... watch me get that beach hair! Ingredients below.
INGREDIENTS:
plastic spray bottle
1 tablespoon of sea salt
1 tablespoon of melted unrefined/organic coconut oil
1 tablespoon of hair gel or leave-in hair conditioner
1 cup of warm water
couple drops of essential oil

what's wrong with that? i was going to do that 2 years ago when i was on a boat on the sea, so i would not take the dirty water from the shore, but i forgot the bottle. i really think it would work better
+Irina Cia the problem is that it would dry your hair out like crazy even if you put something else with it since the salt is really concentrated :)
that is a good idea its actually a good idea because your saving money because ocean/sea water is free ( well it is were I live )

The styling gel acts as an emulsifier making the salt and coconut oil to be suspended in an equal amount in the water. :)

I am a mixed chick (curly densely thick hair) with hair i have bleached silver. I just tried this recipe and added a couple things for my hair type. Almond, avacado, and argan oil, vitamin e oil and a couple drops of glycerin. I also added an essential oil I have that's made of coral so it actually smells like the sea. It works beautifully and I literally spent $0 as I had all of the ingredients in my house. Love it!!! Thanks so much for the video.

For those of you concerned about drying out you hair. You should be. Many of the products on shelves are actually epsom salt, which actually provides a benefit for your hair.

my hair is multi textured so it was hard as hell straight/wavey in the back curly/fluffy when dry wavey/springy when wet in the front .try working with that .
My hair is wavy and it made it curly and my hair is short, so it works for me too. :)

For the coconut oil it melts @ like 76 degrees so pop the coconut oil in microwave for 10 second and check until it's an oil and it will go in the bottle more easily.

If you stick coconut oil outside on a warm day it will turn into a liquid. That would probably be easier to mix.
Instead of the essential oil I put conditioner it works pretty much the same I tried both to see how they would both work out and they work the same

coconut oil will precipitate when it cools off. + it doesn't mix w water
Sea salt makes your hair dry and frizzy if you have short hair it doesn't matter but never try that with long hair
Yea, that's why oil is there too, to prevent that dry effect from the salt. Thank me later.
