Thanks ED, I ordered 14 seed packets of Carolina Pepper and they are growing very well in Tanzania ,Africa . People love hot pepper in Africa a lot and hopefully it will colonize Africa markets .
Sell them, distribute them, make that 💵 🚀
how were they delivered? I'd like to do same in uganda
Are you able to share the seeds
My man Ed is playing Pokémon Go! Look at his phone on the table
He has been playing on every livestream too.
Your man Ed is baked out of his mind.
I thought that was Pokemon Go 😂
That's what I thought too lol
It always looks like Ed is just casually playing Pokemon Go in his videos.
watching how to grow peppers at 2 AM wtf is wrong with me lol
Grow a pepper foo
I just bought a couple of your Carolina Reaper plants. I can't wait to grow them. You just answered my question about Bonnies and you. Thanks, Ed.
Ed is total legend
Don’t forget about your Canadian fans and customers Ed! We love ya too
I recently picked up one of your official Bonnie Reaper plants and I must say, I'm impressed. It was apparently well taken care of, and it's apparent that the genetics are sound. Healthy, strong, vigorously-branched plant in a bigger container than usual, with decent room for the roots. Transplanted it into one of our beds and it's settling in very nicely.
Me too! I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t start from seed lol
I like how Ed has become so powerful, that he is literally begging for competition to defeat him.
I got my hands on Caroline Reaper seeds a few years ago, and I made a mistake in handling them. I forgot to put on gloves. I handled the seeds, planted them, and at some point, touched my eye. Holy S#$% did that burn. Took a couple of days just for the oils to get off my fingers. Using the bathroom was also not a good experience.
Just picked up 3 plants at our Tractor Supply Store..here in northern Maine..it has your Smokin Joe label in the dirt…
I found this channel by your website and I’m so happy you have a RUclips channel. I’m like you I always eat things that are so spicy that others can’t stand it. I’ve ate a whole reaper on multiple occasions. Your work is amazing.
My Carolina Reaper plant is from a bonnie plant that my neighbor gave me. I heard about you through the gardening group I started for my county. SO cool that it's likely from your seeds! Ha! My reaper plant is going nuts right now!! So exciting.
Love the series!! I’m currently germinating some reapers up here in Toronto Canada. Much love!
Is it going well?
Love ya three stooges keep these going as much as possible!
7:17 You can also use the bar tending trick to make a layered drink to water your seed pots. Put some water in a container with a pour spout like a Pyrex measuring cup and gently pour over the back of a spoon above your seeds. The water will slide off the spoon gently making contact with the outer edge of the pot first without disturbing the seeds. You need to water each cell one at a time, if you try to pour continuously across them you will uncover the seeds.
Just bought some of your reaper plants at Home Depot! Can’t wait to see how they come out!
They sell them at home depot?
@@mog_3825 yeah they do! I was shocked when I found them. I’m not sure if they sell them at every Home Depot but they did at the one in my town. It should be where the Bonnie plants are and the label says “Smokin’ Ed’s Carolina reaper”
Man! I am looking forward to planting my Carolina Reaper seeds soon!
We need more videos like this!! Very helpful 👍
Man,Ed!!! Xoxoxoxoxo...been waitn on these videos for a long time!!! Xoxoxoxoxo Glad you made them , and gladder I found them!!! Xoxoxoxoxo KEEP EM COMING!!!! Xoxoxoxoxo
Just bought one of your plants today at Lowe’s.
what 1 little Trinidad Scorpion Plant my wife got me as a gift has turned into over 15 plants... so I'm hooked LOL
Have two established sprouts and two more are coming in using the Jiffy peat pod system and warming pad
Purchased one from Lowes and almost ruined it with too much sun here in zone 9. Trimmed back the dead leaves and wanted to cry. Moved it to a bit shadier area and for the past month was worried it wasn't growing. And now it is taking off.
I got one of your “Ed’s Smoking Carolina Reapers” plants at Sam’s Club in FL. It’s going amazing.
You should look In to Harvest Host and do small tours of your pepper farm.
Bought a reaper plant a month ago and it doesn't seem to be growing, so I'm getting ready to transplant it again into soil mixed with earthworm castings and peat moss.
It's still green, so I'm not too worried, just disheartened. Hopefully this video can help me figure out what more I can do to help things along.
On my first round of reapers here on my little one acre Texas farm thank you for all you do! 🌶🔥👨🌾🇨🇱🤙
To anyone having troubles: most of these hot plants are tropical. They hate cold water. Microwave your water until it's about 35 to 40C (body temperature). Don't water everyday. Let the top of the soil get slightly drier and lighter in color. Then water generously. Make sure no water remains in the lower catcher, ever. Give a ton of light, but avoid cold breezes near a window. Commercial bagged soil is probably sterilized or heat treated. That reduces fungus, mold, etc. Good commercial bagged soil for peppers or tomatoes will be fine.
Started my reapers last Saturday 11/12. Today 11/19 I have germination on them and the orange butch t. So happy it didn't take no 4wks lol
Thanks for bringing reapers to the world Mr Currie. I'm learning whatever you got all the way from Australia. Learn from the master I say. Already had my first couple that fruited but not a great deal. I've kept the seeds and enjoyed the fruit, dried and sliced straight into noodles and soups, steak too. Not sure if I'm becoming immune as birdseye powder is now in my pepper shaker lol. Anyway cheers I'm all eyes and ears Sir thanks
That's why Ed's the boss
Priceless
Thanks for the update! Been waiting for this.
I ordered seeds and some reaper peppers...
I do pickles and add 1/4th in each jar everyone says its nice heat and not mean 🙃.
I have never grown peppers but my friend who was nice enough to give me some had a malfunction he went on vacation and played rain roulette so no to very little for him
Here to learn.
I am a master gardner so i can grow but didnt know much about these little heat demons 😂😂😂
🎉 pepper x is a Mustard pod of a "Reaper"😮
They call em steady eddy. And yeah I noticed the Pokémon go app on his phone lol
God Bless You All Too 🙏 🙂
Great people. Thank You
Can u make a grow tips Playlist. I don't wanna miss any of them. I watched your how to start in a window sill video and planted chocolate and regular reapers yesterday very excited!
I love you Ed. You are my idol!
I loved watching this video, then loved it even more when I realised you were playing Pokemon Go on your phone :D
Yaaaa part 2! I've got a seedling still that should hopefully kick off in the better soil. It was holding too much moisture and I don't think it was getting enough nutrients. If it gets too cold by September or October here it's coming inside anyway.
I have a some overwintered chocolate ghosts that are only producing undersized peppers so I’m hoping I’ll either figure something out from this series or as it stays warmer they start growing to full size. It’s only been consistently warm for a few weeks here in SoCal.
I just bought one of your beautiful plants.
My boss keeps a bottle of Reaper sauce in his desk 🥵🔥
9:57, Ed Currie plays pokemon go confirmed
Can you put seeds in a moist paper towel to get them to sprout, then transplant to soil?
Still patiently waiting for pepper x to be released to the public, reapers aren't hot enough anymore
💯
Monsanto approved
a box told us to refrigerate them for pre-germination on a cloth. im not exactly sure what that would, or did do. if that could have damaged them idk
Hey Ed, greetings from Indonesia!
I'm planning to buy your Carolina Reaper's seeds from pucker butt pepper website, but I'd like to ask you about the plants. Let's say I manage to grow and harvest the reaper, if I planted another reaper using seeds from that harvested pepper, will the spiciness level reduce?
Your reaper squeezins? Hottest damn thing I've ever eaten.
great stuff guys, great peppers as well.
Ed perfect timing! I just got a Carolina reaper plant and I'm excited to grow this. I'm looking forward to your expertise as the Godfather of Carolina reapers. Do you have any tips for people up north zone 6? Thanks in advanced!
Until night-time temps are consistently 55F or higher, I bring all my peppers inside at night. They do not like colder temps at all. If anything, err on the side of waiting until it's a little warmer. A cold-frame, plastic-covered hoop or greenhouse would give you more leeway in that regard.
If you get started real late and cold autumn temps are approaching before the peppers are done ripening, you can bring them inside then too. Even if you have to dig them up to put them in pots, they'll still finish ripening up.
Other than that, it's just the usual normal care and feeding. Enjoy!
it also said in a bag, in a pot, with NO direct sun.
Mornin Sunshines! I bought a Carolina Reaper Pepper Plant at Walmart here in Junction City Ks! Got it home & the top main stem was broken!!! Planted it anyway as it's really bushy. Will that interfere with its production at all? My son-in-law loves SUPER hot spicy stuff so I got it for him. He is deployed to Poland so I know he won't be here to enjoy this summer but plan to figure out how to preserve them!
greetings from Colorado Ed, I've been growing mostly the big roasting peppers like Big Jims, New Mexico's, Hatch, Anaheim's, and Poblanos, I live in the southern part of the state which is considered a arid desert at a elevation of 7500 feet. I've been having problems with my Reapers in pots. they are around 24 inches tall and somewhat bushy with little or no fruit, I've been using a 3-5-18 fertilizer on my other pepper plants with great yields but not the Reapers. any suggestions. greatly appreciated. Joe.
I got my seeds growing
I have the most beautiful and symmetrical Carolina reaper plant. It’s so perfect it looks fake and stands about 2.5 feet tall. And has lots of peppers coming in now.
What is your trainer code!?! I am a huge fan, and would love to raid with the legend!
I know what the "AR" is lol I'd feel guilty saying it out loud but I have some of that growing on my balcony.
Great video, thanks for sharing. 👍
I had a question, do spider mites attack Carolina Reaper plants? Or do they avoid them? Ever see them on any of your plants before?
Hey ed I am Clint from Trinidad and Tobago I wanna start my pepper garden , I placed some seeds in a tray together with other stuff and I am waiting for them to germinate any suggestions pls thanks ?
The reaper tastes amazing.
I so agree with the gloves....i've experienced no gloves.....
Took my seeds over 3 weeks 20-32 Celsius outside the whole time
Very informative and entertaining....
is it alright to grow the peppers now? it's the beginning of march, and I have just gotten some Reaper, Moruga Red, Trinidad Green, and habaneros, but the weather fluctuates from 50-60 with rain. feedback would be awesome!
Swweeett!!!!
Just joined the channel, caught up on some videos. I’m going to be moving to Elgin, SC soon and will be driving through Dallas. I’m purposely going to stay at a hotel near Birdguesa so I can try the tap out challenge.
Did miracle grow stop making their organic performance seed starting mix?
Cant wait to plant this and try to crossbreed this pepper to philippine chilis(coz we have that plant)
10:00 was that Pokemon go?❤😅
Spice is nice.
Miracle gro grows mids. No till (Living Soil) is the only way...
Give them a break they are growing peppers but mid peppers
Miracle gro is sub par. Tlo is not the only way. It is one of many.
is it a good idea to germinate them in a plastic bag as a simulation of a greenhouse
Does it hurt to Pre soak the seeds in like a tea water 12 hours and start in happy frog? Ive tried starting them from seed 2 years and no success but my Pre started plants are huge and growing like wild fire
I love your stuff you are the man the reaper kicked me and my sons ass but it was a very flavorful pepper.
How often do you water the tray ??????
Is a green Carolina Reaper lower in scoville units than a red-ripe Carolina reaper? Thx!
nice Ed
I love everything your doing except for the miracle grow. I understand the economics behind the decision. In Oregon, friends don't let friends grow with miracle grow.
Thank you so much for this!!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to get my Bonnieplants peppers!
I bought my CR plant from Walmart about 2yrs ago. Last year it was constantly being attacked by aphids. I used a few drops of dish soap in a sprayer bottle trying to manage it but they kept coming back. Over the winter the plant barely survived and this year started to grow again but is now getting attacked by mealybugs. Any recommendations on a better safer way to manage pests? It appears to have flower buds starting but the plant looks pretty stressed. Ps. I live on the beach in souther California and plant faces south on my front porch.
Also can I email pics?
Neem oil seems to work for me, but remember to wash the peppers before consuming
Love the video…
Did Carolina reaper by any chance originate in North or South Carolina
I have a one of your reaper plants and I winterized it but I haven't gotten one pepper last year or this year.😢
Is it making flowers but dropping them before the peppers start forming? That's usually a sign of heat-stress. I haven't grown Reapers before but peppers in general tend to just stall out when it gets above 90F. Shade-cloth can be a big help during hot summer afternoons.
Hand-pollinating the flowers can help a lot, too. Just take a q-tip, little tiny paintbrush, your fingertip or whatever and swirl it around in the middle of every open flower, one after another, to make sure they all get pollinated.
@@dogslobbergardens6606they could be using nothing but nitrogen rich fertilizer as well, which would boost plant growth, but not fruit growth. They might need to remove some soil and mix in phosphorus and potassium
@@mog_3825 good point, people often give way too much N and don't pay attention to the other macro- and micronutrients. For instance, fish emulsion is widely touted as a great all around fert, but it's really NOT. It has five times more N than P and K; that's very seldom required. It's not good as the *only* fertilizer.
When in doubt, use LESS nitrogen than P and K. It's super easy to give plants a quick boost of N if they actually do start showing a nitrogen deficiency. Fish emulsion really is excellent for that application.
How do you protect your chilli plant from aphids if you dont have space for a green house? Can i just cover say the pot with it with the green house net?
Top o your game Ed!
I need to plant my ghost Peppers and jedi jalapenos but the night time low her in Peterborough Ontario is making me nervous. Holding off until Wednesday maybe this Friday 🤞
Why does the Smokin Ed’s Reaper grow bigger than regular Carolina Reaper Peppers 🌶️???
i prefer my peppers in your sauces, but it was fun to watch
My peppers fall to the ground not ripe yet. Why is that?
what should we do
Excellent 🌶🔥👌🏻
lookin like a straight pepper pusha man! Need some peps? Need some seeds? I got everything you need, I’m your pepper man😎
Why there is no news about the Pepper X since 2017 (last dab)?
Those where Apollo peppers😈
