What On Earth Is Happening At Hull City?!

- Just five years ago, Hull City were in the Europa League. Three years ago, the club was in the Premier League. But even during unprecedented on-field success, some supporters were unhappy with the off-field actions of the clubs owners.
Now, the Tigers off-field plight has been carried onto the pitch, and when the EFL Championship season was suspended, Grant McCann's side looked likely to drop down into League One.
In this video, HITC Sevens takes a look at some of the problems that have plagued Hull City in recent years. - Спорт
That rather highlights the fact that the gripes of hull city fans may not be entirely performance related

Many of us actually stopped going just when we were promoted back to the Prem.
Ditto
I thought I was going crazy for a second XDDDD
I hope your club changes its fortunes and get rid of Allam and get a owner that actually cares about your club. I hate how heaps of clubs are getting ruined by poor management. Bury, Bolton, Coventry, Hull. It is shocking and disgraceful. I hope a miracle comes your way
Portsmouth.
barcelona
Arsenal
England should have the 50+1 rule like in Germany
Barcelona and arsenal? Fuck oof
I think there should be more videos like this looking at the fall of clubs
Potentially: Sunderland, Portsmouth, Bolton have all fallen pretty far in recent years.
swansea will be soon if we don't sort it out
DeFAULT Designs I know it’s an obvious one but Leeds would be good to see
In general I think it’s interesting to see clubs with owner issues or anything like that, would love to see a vid about Blackburn as well
Great Idea! Deportivo la coruna comes to mind!
Yeah but those 7 of us would love the hell out of the obscure 1930s footballers channel! You do history so well! That Albert Speer piece in particular was so well-crafted and the content, context, and tone were bang on 💪
The Albert Speed video was one of my all time favourites.

Was very well written and researched. I could see the emotion and disappointment. It’s sad to see the decline of Hull City, a very likeable team.
@Trbl X I remember that, pisses me off to this day
@Trbl X why would they engrave their names BEFORE it’s over, what if we would’ve won (I would have been so happy)
Mate, as a fan and Hull lad, it's been going on for YEARS! Allams changing badges, wanting to move stadium out of hull, prices etc, banning people.. Lost goes on, absolute circus at the moment
I don’t get why they changed our badge. It looks good but the one before was simple but good
I’m Dutch, and Hull has been one of me favorite English clubs since childhood, it really hurts me to see the predicament the club is in now. Thanks for the video though, quality content!
Is that because they're one of the closest English football clubs to the Netherlands? AND play in Orange?
Only 240 miles to Amsterdam! Well it's closer than Plymouth.

As a Hull supporter I’ve been waiting for this video for years. 🐯
I have a soft spot for Hull City. I used to pick a lower league team in PES in the late 1990s early 2000s and Hull City was my team. No connection to them other than that. Still makes me a bit down to see the state of the team's ownership and their lack of vision. Being a Napoli fan, I can tell you exactly how you feel. The grass is greener on the other side mate. Just have to get Allams out and someone in who will actually run the club correctly.
It’s great when you create like a connection between yourself and players or teams through games (mine are typically football manager) and then growing to actually care about them in real life
@@jamesnorthcote3718 that's how Forest Green became my 2nd team, did a career as them in Total Club Manager 2004, now it's a tradition for me to do a career as them whenever i get a football game they're on
Contrabanned same for me with redditch in football manager I think 2008? And now I’ve seen them play in person numerous times and always do a career with them

Charlie Austin at QPR happened in recent years too
logan thomson he scored 18 that season, it was Agüero who won it with 26
logan thomson he was good but he wasn’t quite carlsberg
What about Andy Johnson in 2004/05?
Carl Busani i think he was second
Have a soft spot for hull. Grant Mccan is a family friend and he played for Linfield for a bit. Good man.
The Kobster 05 hes a good man but a terrible manager
Shite manager tho
Wank manager, we went 17 games without a win and from 8th in January to 24th in may
Brilliant eye opening video. I’ve heard about the situation at Hull a lot over the years but just never really batted an eyelid, however once you explained the bts at the club it was interesting albeit sad to hear another standard examples of the riches basically tearing the heart and soul out of that club. Kinda like my team, QPR in a sense.
It's sad and I called it from day one
I said Allams money would ruin the club based on a few things he said/did early on. Everything since has been a shambles to watch
I remember the Hull Tigers bullshit and thought that that was a horrible mistake to do something that crass. Obliterating the tradition of the club to make it sound more akin to an NFL team. So I completely agreed with the fans griping when I was reading about it in The Guardian. But the no concessionary pricing - that takes the biscuit, the cake and rum all in one. That is the owners effectively killing the club for all it's worth. In a way, stories such as this are what turned me away from "the beautiful game." Football has been destroyed by management such as this and the complete lack of interest from these owners is what hurts.
By the way, if you feel the need to rant every once in a while, feel free. That's what we're here for along with the encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of football.
What's wrong with hull tigers? It's a cool name
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 It's not about the name, its the act of renaming a football club for commercial interest. Football clubs are more than just a business, they are part of the local community and most have been for over a century. It's like me asking your country to change its flag because I think the design is lame.
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 Tottenham Hotspur sounds better.
@@CentaurMoe a football club is a privately owned business, it's like if bill Gates wanted to change Microsoft name to micro tigers, it's the owners right

Damn you guys are killing it with the videos
Giovanni was so exciting to watch. I enjoyed Hull City’s run in the prem
When you hear about the near implosion of Glasgow Rangers, Leeds, Bury, Portsmouth, Bolton, Coventry and now Hull City, makes my blood boil. Don't these people have background checks on them?? As an Arsenal fan, I have nothing but respect for the club, fans and the city itself. Hull gave us an almighty scare in the FA Cup Final in 2013. That was the hardest fought win, tougher than the wins over Aston Villa (2014) and Chelsea (2016). I know football's on a haitus due to the current coronavirus situation, but keep looking up, Hull City. You'll hit the heights again. 👍
I hope so mate :(
Cheers mate. I was at that final and was worried you'd give us a real beating. Our players fought so hard and it would have been incredible to lift our first trophy, but it wasn't to be.
This has aged like a fine wine
Loving the videos man, your killing it at the moment !
I have been wating for this for so long
As a young hull city fan I'd like to thank you for making this video @HITC Sevens
More Hull City videos please.
No
Great video Alfie. Would be great if you could do more situation analysis of teams struggling or teams that were once great/ a regular premierleague team but struggling. Love your in-depth research
I found this infinitely more interesting than you seven abandoned stadiums vid. I hope you don’t shy away from this concept totally bc I love the internal politics of football clubs. So interesting! Especially as an American where we have the super gay franchise system. Long story short, the more videos like this the more I will watch!!
As also a hull city fan i really appreciate you making this, not enough people know about our situation. At the moment we are a ruined team, rotten from bottom to top, depressing stuff. UTT.
Great video, very interesting and definitely be up for more videos like this!
This is my 3rd time watching this video. You make me love football all over again man. Thank you for the history lessons!
Think it's the right time to do a rtg with hill city on FIFA 20.
Love this, waiting for it for a long time
Being from Hull I see this struggle all the time, it's nice to know you're a Hull city fan and, like us and all Hull city fans, I hope it ends soon
As a Hull fan also it’s so sad to see my club in free fall before the 2017/18 season we would bounce between the prem and the championship we always had something to play for, now we just sell our best assets whenever the owners see they can get money so there’s no chance we’ll be in the prem in the next 10 years sad times :(
Good video! Could you do 7 current ageing stars that might miss Euro 2021? (Players that were likely to have enough left in the tank to start for their national teams this year)
Well said! Keep up the good work! Loving the channel. 😀
Thank you. Excellent channel. Please do one about West Bromwich Albion before it’s too late ! Thanks again
Found that was a very interesting video in my opinion, would love to see a series of videos about clubs in similar scenarios who have fallen from grace ie AC Milan or clubs who’s bad ownership and investment has brought them relegation after relegation ie Blackpool
The decline of our clubs is sad especially those who are being mismanaged. I hope Hull City can bounce back soon
Really great video. Would love to see more stuff like this
nice video, i thought that was talking a little more about Marco Silva season on Hull, damn.
I watched with a lot of interest, here in my land, almost reaching thre battle of relegation.
As a Rovers fan who first began watching in the seventies, and who has lived through the Jack Walker era, and who now has suffered through the Venkys. I understand your pain. It seems like things are maybe getting better for us. I am hopeful that it can turn around for the tigers again soon. Keep up the good work.
I enjoyed this, most subscribers are interested in the personal lives of the creator, so having a personal video to you is good
Last time I was this early, Dean Windass had just won Hull City promotion.
Videos like this are your best, it’s a shame they don’t get the same high views of other videos.

Great video and really refreshing to see such passionate commentary. As a Wolves fan, we know all too well the perils that can result from bad ownership.

Really enjoyed this video, was very interesting
You talk about your club as much as you want alfie, interesting video. I'm a blackburn fan and I was talking to a group of hull fans in the pub at ewood a couple of year ago, proper down to earth people and alot of similarities between our clubs in terms of on the pitch decline
And off it

Wolves
@@cellyszn20 You realise 30 years ago Spurs came 3rd in the league
Hey Alfie, not a Hull fan (also not from the UK) myself but I really enjoyed your video! Good assessment of the situation, and an outline how bad ownership can hurt a club in the long term too, even if short term succes makes it seem allright. Maybe every now and then you should focus on a club that has fallen from grace at some point in the last decade. Think of Pompey, Coventry, Blackpool, Plymouth, Bury, Rangers, Bolton, Wigan and even Wolves.
Great video explaining what is happening at hull city
Excellent vid....had no idea this was going on. Rarely follow the plight of clubs once they fall out of the PL as i'm an International fan
Very interesting keep up the good work
Great video, as a Liverpool fan I often don't hear about much from the lower English divisions as there's often news either focused on CL or PL clubs and players so it's interesting to see stuff about Hull who to me where still a fringe PL club
This was a really interesting video!
The best video i have seen explaining this
THANK YOU! Finally a Hull City video!
Hey Alfie, I'm a very regular viewer of your channel and I just wanted to say that I really enjoy hearing you talk about Hull City and hearing your opinions and views in videos like this. I understand at the end of the day you need people to be watching your videos and these videos mightn't get the most views but I hope you know your loyal viewers really enjoy this sort of content. I hope to see the occasional Hull video in the future.

I actually really enjoy these videos about recent football history
I went from watching every game ever and knowing everything about every player. To just checking the results randomly.
I'm the same. Used to be able to tell you every single goalscorer in every game throughout a season and now I can't even name half the squad. I miss loving the club like I did.

Thank you very much. This is such an interesting subject and I think it could be replicated by other clubs. I hope the situation improves for hull city as I believe they are a good club just with bad owners.
The commentary on this video was good as it for once had a little bit of emotion in it, making the video more entertaining and interesting than some of the others.
Great video! You should do similar ones on other clubs

1:04 nice too seem my team Stockport County get mentioned or in this case on the front of the match day programs!
As someone who is American, yet picked this club to follow when they made it to the top league...I thank you for making this video. Dropping lower in tiers makes it harder to find news easily. That said-I still love Hull City...they are as imperfect as our two American Football teams here in Ohio...
Interesting and insightful. The decline of the club over the last 5 years is wholly down to the owners! The sooner they clear off the better, and, when they do, let's have a bloody big party!
Great video! Now do Bolton?
Slavisa Jokanovic earned promotion with Watford and then left.
Watched this after Hull's relegation to league one yesterday and wow this explains alot. I cannot imagine how tough it must be for a fan to see the club they love get to this stage.
These are really fantastic please do these for other lower end prem teams or championship clubs! (Bentford, west ham, Watford etc)
Not even a Hull fan but interesting video👍continue talking about Hull if you and thanks for the 6 points this season.
Leeds 2-0 Hull & Hull 0-4 Leeds
Easiest 6 points Leeds will have for some time
Great to see some interest in our predicament and support from around the world. I don't think any of us Hull fans expect us to be lifting trophies, but to have our team back and community spirit again would be wonderful. Wouldn't wish it on any other team and heart goes out to the likes of Bury. Football should bring people together, not cause these rifts.
Similar to this I think a good video idea would be the rise and decline and the rise again of clubs like Aston Villa, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest and other big teams that arguably should be in the Premier League. Love the videos mate.

A fair assessment of what has and is happening at Hull City. The sad thing is that with a bit of common sense and dialogue with supporters this could easily have been a success story if the owners had the gumption to stop quickly some of the damaging things they did.
