I've always wondered what the difference was between the pre-1900 90% silver and 1900 to 1945 90% silver. So I just went to the Sigma site and found: "90% US pre1900 Morgan dollars and other pre-1900 90% silver coins vary considerably in their metallurgy. Although these coins are 90% silver, the remaining metal isn't always pure copper. One Morgan we tested was .6% lead while another was .06% lead. These differences make for wide variation in the characteristic electrical resistance of the Morgan dollars. We have tested hundreds of Morgans but be advised that this is a very large range. It has been used to detect fake Morgan's that are made from materials other than copper and silver. Use due diligence in visual inspection, weighing and checking dimensions."
They should really get you an affiliate link. I plan on buying one of these probably in a few months or so, and you're basically the reason I even know about this thing.
Awesome!!!! They did make a link I added it to description and for all future videos, its called PrepareWithIS.com Not only are they offering you all a great deal but every sale gives me a small kickback to help fun our adventures! :D
Of course but thats not always possible. Considering banks have even been fooled by fakes before I test everything :D Its really handy for private buys as well :D
Good stuff. BTW, I did the ping test today on a Morgan and Peace dollar when I was at an LCS... I asked if he ran his stuff through a Sigma, but he doesn't. He seemed to be against using it, saying he's been in the business long enough to recognize fakes. Meh, I'd rather be safe.
Wardens for sure!!! And the counterfeits from China are much much better quality than they used to be... coin verification is critical, I think, when running a business like that 🤓🤓🤓🤓
Do you know why the 90% US silver coins are divided into three different groups by years (pre-1900, 1900-1945, and 1945-)? I thought that all 90% US silver coins regardless of the year are the same alloy mixture (90%silver and 10% copper).
They are worth it, saves you from 1 fake gold coin, its paid for itself :D Did you catch my new video 390 pounds of gold & silver released last night? ruclips.net/video/D5nRo_jzvvI/видео.html
Hey IS. Been testing out my unit and I noticed it doesn't sit flat on the little rubber pads... I swear I saw someone mention this but I can't figure out who, do you know anything about that and how I could maybe correct this? Thanks.
I am away from my unit right now (its on the west coast) Make sure one of the feet didn't fall off, also make sure there isn't a twist thing on the bottom that stabilizes it. Also, make sure to never press down on the block censors... You got the pro right?
@@InternationalStacker yes it's the pro. It works great so far. It just wobbles a little bit. The rubber feet all seem to be there but it teeters a little bit on the bottom left to the top right. About .05" gap. Looks like I might have to deal with it or try to shave the rubber possibly. I doubt it affects how it operates it just doesn't sit quite flat
@@grnLogic I feel like there is an answer to this lol! I can't remember though! Yes I would probably just sand down the others or shave them until it balances... you for sure don't want it wobbling lol :D Did my video help?
@@InternationalStacker yes! I read the manual anyways but the video definitely saved me time learning to navigate the screens! I'm glad the 80% option is in there, I picked up some Canadian coins and got a few more on the way!
If I could, I would definitely get my hands on one of these. Then I would be the guy at the coin shop or coin show lugging around a small black box and they would think "What's in the box?" (LOL). But seriously, this was a pretty cool gadget and I will definitely bookmark this device until I can get my hands on one.
I bought mine from buysigmametalytics.com . He's an authorized dealer and has a good bundled price ($1,380) for the Pro plus the Refiner's wand and the Small wand. He also has another bundle that includes the External Bridge, but it's considerably more expensive. You have the Refiner's wand and the Microwand. (Sigma may not have offered the Small wand when you bought your unit.) Sigma says most people should be good with the Small wand, which can measure down to 1/20th oz and 1 gm samples. You'd only need the Microwand for really tiny samples, and it costs $265 vs. $100 for the Small wand. I think the main limitation with the Sigma Pro is that if you have a slabbed coin that's too small a diameter to be read by the large sensor, the slab won't fit under the small sensor and the external wands can't read through the thick plastic and air gap between the plastic and coin, so the only way you can check those coins would be to crack them out of the slab.
Great information!!! Yes agreed on the slabbed coins luckily I don’t really collect them much.... you are right there was no small wand or bridge when I bought otherwise I would have got them all most likely 🤓🤓🤓🤓 With eBay I was able to get 15% which was very nice 🤓🤓😜😜😍😍🥰
I’ve finally decided... you can get me one of these for Christmas ol’ buddy 😂😂✌️
I’ll send it with the gold nugget!! 😜😜😜😜😜🤓🤓
International Stacker Works for me brother!! 🤣😅😂
International Stacker send me one too 🤣🤣🤣

Ideally you want to avoid buying the fakes instead of waiting till you get home, but it's a great machine you have. 👍👍

@@InternationalStacker are you able to take those back once found?
If you want the bar attachment you'll have to send the unit back to them to get it calibrated.
Thanks for the info! :D
Thanks for showing us!🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for watching! :D
Great video brother. We really need to cut down on our imports from China. There's no repercussions on them whatsoever.
Thank you!! Agreed 100%%% :D
@@InternationalStacker sticker going in the mail to you tomorrow.
Where can I buy the machine from because. They seem to be sold out?
Search EBay for Sigma Metalitics pro :) 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
Thanks

I love it.
Can’t seem to pull the trigger on something like that.
Is the smaller version that goes for about 700 that much worse ?
It only does 1 test where the new one does 3. I would save up for the new one... as fakes get better the technology has to, to stay caught up 🤓🤓🤓🤓
I think the new one goes deeper into the coin or bar with the test
Do the electromagnetic waves used to analyze the coins and bars affect or damage the metal properties at all?
Nope :D Totally safe ;)

Same mix, just different processes 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓😛😛😛😛😛😛😛

I cannot believe how expensive these are!!! Found a used one on "the bay" for $900. Still to much money for me. Going to ask Santa for one.

Can this test kilo bars of silver?
Yes, there is a detachable wand... also there is an add on designed just for bars 🤓
