Scooter Rider Left Lodge into Windshield

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 11:30 PM 9-26-24
LOCATION: Slauson Ave. Just West of Compton Ave
AREA/CITY: Florence - Firestone
DETAILS:
A scooter rider was struck and killed.
The scooter rider was lodged into the windshield of a car.
A witness in a pick-up truck was speaking with CHP. He later approached us and told us that he chased down a tan-colored van that was involved.
CHP would not comment on anything at the scene, only that it’s fatal.
The officer was very uncooperative.
Unknown who hit the fire hydrant.
The driver of the vehicle the scooter rider landed on was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

I have a 150cc scooter. I know how quickly u go down if u hit any kind of hole in the pavement. Not that this is what happened but these scooter renters have no idea of the risk they take. I would never rent one of those death traps. RIP
