    This was a really useful and helpful video. Very original, no BS! I'm in the process of decorating my kitchen, had paint and 2 lots of wallpaper, holes, old plaster, new plaster. This just about covered everything. I'm going to line it too. First time!

    Thank you so much for the vid. This is a job (Of many) that I need to do. But had no idea where to start. Renovating a whole house solo gets overwhelming but now I know how to do this job and which tools & products to use as well as the process. Invaluable for me so thank you again.

    Thank you so much for this! I'm repairing and priming a room for painting in a 19th century house, and all the videos I've been finding are for repairing brand new plaster. This is exactly what I've been looking for (though I'll have to find the American versions of the materials you're using 🤔)

    Please why do you not use SBR instead of PVA to seal the walls? Please why is it best to prime the wood before you seal the wall with PVA? What is the problem with PVA or SBR on bare wood? Many thanks for your kind guidance and great videos.

    • @carlosblakeos2376
      @carlosblakeos2376 Год назад

      You seal the wood because if the water goes on the bear wood it will soak in to the wood so seal it to protect the wood from getting wet

      I agree with you guys. Id have had that done in a day, all new skirting and all freshly skimmed walls looking noicee. None of this polyfillered crap and ancient mullered skirting. Hes blatantly going to have to lining paper those walls too looking at the state of them. Bet hes just talked the customer into the fact its saving money when in reality its taken longer to cockabout filling and sanding back etc. Plus those corner beads will crack with wooden beads and polyfiller because its not flexible at all! Should have used toupret atleast lol. Skim and be a much better job not some bodged painting and decorating cover up

    Why don't you just get a proper foam gun with the amount of it you use

    • @MrJimtimslim
      @MrJimtimslim 3 года назад

      They're not as practical. You have to faff about cleaning them. The metal nozzle is not good for getting in all the nooks etc and if you add the flexible end it makes it too long and unwieldy. Foam guns are good for big areas on industrial work where you're using lots but not on domestic jobs like this.
      I've used both and for domestic work it's the disposables ones like this ever time.

      @@MrJimtimslim not necessary to clean them, at least the one I have. In fact it's recommended to leave the can attached. Only time you run cleaner through it is when you change cans. You can leave it for months before you need to clean if you're on the same can. Worth every penny. It also comes with the same flexible attachment.
