Damn they have made modern cars so overcomplicated to do such simple tasks. Even changing the spark plugs on these things are a pain in the ass.

Shifter on cam is actually the method stipulated in the workshop manual.
I don't know how you got that chain cover off without removing that electrical part that is so hard to nove
