    I just barely managed to finish up this video before having to catch a flight and actually had to upload it from the airport. I even had to try to recreate the thumbnail on a crappy laptop on the plane because I forgot to copy that one to my external ssd. Hopefully I haven't made a bad editing mistake in all the stress but I just wanted to get the video out; now that the beta is still ongoing and in case you want to check out the game for yourself. The bronze founders pack for 15 dollars should get you access to the beta.
    Hope you enjoyed the video, take care!

    What are you most excited about?
    I can’t wait to dive into all the systems and learn more about housing. Whenever a game releases with housing I can’t help but feel sad about Wildstar.

      Housing! I missed the part about housing. Looking forward to seeing how they implement it. I saw that there was the start (or perhaps remnants) of a dialogue/interaction system. Hopefully it doesn't turn out like Guild Wars 2's scrapped system of charm, dignity, and ferocity.

    Ohohoho bard?
    I usually get a headache over time from games like this but it's actually got my attention after hearing pvp is equalized in this video. I'm into that. Oh, have you been checking out Elden Ring at all lately?

    • @MasterOfNoneGaming
      @MasterOfNoneGaming  3 года назад +1

      Oh damn, headaches are the worst..
      I really hope the releases are a bit apart with EoD and I can give the games the time they deserve and don't have to try to juggle both at the same time.
      Elden Ring looks beautiful! I want to see the actual gameplay loop before I buy it though and probably won't play on release. Not too big of the "running through all the enemies to the fog gate" on my 7th try at a boss in Dark Souls 1-3 but the exploration is always great.
      With most single player games I just wait until they are on sale usually :D

      @@MasterOfNoneGaming haha hella my dude. I'm most intrigued by the prospect of co op they showcased in the latest Elden Ring gameplay footage. I'm nearing the end of my fourth cooperative playthrough on Outward so it looks like a nice follow up.
      Here's hoping lost Ark isn't at the same time as EoD! I know I won't feel too terrible if I have to focus GW2 first though, since Lost Ark has been out for awhile elsewhere It feels less urgent to be there on day 1.
      You mentioned bard - is there any more information you have about how that plays?

    • @MasterOfNoneGaming
      @MasterOfNoneGaming  3 года назад +1

      Oh yeah I also want to know more about that! The summoning in the souls series has always been a bit akward to me, so I hope it's easier now.
      And yeah I feel similarly about the releases. I've only checked out the bard for about 5min so take this with a grain of salt. It looked like it had some ground targeted heals similar to something like firebrand but you had to decide if you want the field to do damage or heal instead. And for damaging abilities you would just shoot music notes everywhere. As you can see not very detailed info but you'd probably find a video on it easily :D

      @@MasterOfNoneGaming I never played any of the dark souls games to be honest, but maybe Elden Ring will be my entry point. The mounted combat also looked pretty neat, and not everything was constant claustrophobia.
      As for bard, this sounds interesting. I've been planning to be a bard, specifically a Tellsword, in Ashes of Creation when it comes out. I also play one in DnD and regularly throw them in as NPCs during recorded games. Anytime a game brings up bards it's the first thing I look at!
      Do you think you'll put out any class videos for lost ark? I know id definitely take the time to watch through them if you do.

    • @MasterOfNoneGaming
      @MasterOfNoneGaming  3 года назад +1

      I don't think I'll put out any class videos, simply for the fact that alot of the big guys already have some out so I don't think a lot of people would find mine.
      Also I can't play the beta anymore since I'm not home, so I'll just keep myself in the dark for now and explore the game once it's released. Not sure yet what videos would then make sense for the channel but I'll figure it out once I start playing.
      Also depends how long I see myself playing the game for of course :) I hope it can be a new one in the "rotation" but you never know until you've played for a while.

    Having played about 3k hours on russian server - I'm sad to say there's so many things that you are excited about - painly aren't there.
    Pretty much Bard and Warrior-with-gunspear is a must for anything competitive PvE wise, which leaves only 2 spots in the typical LA group. One of which probably a Berzerker, since they are pretty much OP and scale absurdly with mastery.
    (Similar to having FB or Scourge boosts the success-rate by an incredible amount, doable without them, but much, much harder)
    Game is extremely alt-unfriendly and requires you to grind same gated content or buy boosts/currency with real $, unless you just solo queue 3v3 PvP.
    Weekly lockouts provide the most progress ilvl-wise and can only be effectively spent on one character at a time.
    This aside combat best in any ARPG-topdown style game. It's just that fucking amazing and has tons of content, if you are willing to do a tons of achiv hunts and stick with 1 character for a long time.

    • @MasterOfNoneGaming
      @MasterOfNoneGaming  3 года назад

      That's a shame. However, you still spent 3k hours on it so that's something :D
      In terms of alt-friendly is weird though, I always saw people with tons of characters doing weekly stuff on them or something?
      I'm not looking to be top tiered on every alt amd rather just spend time on them.
      Btw are achievments account or character bound?

      @@MasterOfNoneGaming You can farm gold weeklies on alt characters to an extent, its probably mandatory at some point, since there a ton of things you need gold for, besides ilvl increases. Things like engravings/enchants provide up to 100% damage to some classes and are very expensive gold-wise.
      It's the meta, people organize weekly 4 mains + 4 alts runs of easy 8-12man "strikes" here, then swap mains alts. Some can even go 2+6 ratio which feels like a job at some point.
      Static groups pretty much require you a, for example, ilvl 1370+ main and at least 1340+ two alts.
      Being in the top 10% ilvl pays greatly, from steamrolling people in ilvl-based GvG(clain island for tons of gold) to selling boss carries.
      But that's beside the point, you can't possibly keep up 2 characters on the same ilvl, without falling behind other people. Unless you spend $.
      Achievements are all account bound. There's a big collection that provides a lot of skill points, which are an addition to the ones you get from leveling, which are very powerful.
      3k hours is pretty much because I felt in love with the blade assassin character and tried to do all the things. She has the best combat flow of any sword-based character I've ever played in any ARPG and this alone kept me playing for a long time, even despite the shortcomings of the endgame.

      Thanks for the detailed write up! Very excited to dive in myself on the actual release.
      From everything I heard so far I have a pretty good image of the game and I think my reasons to be excited.
      I guess alt friendliness is in the eye of the beholder but having a good reason to log on to alts qualifies for me. I'm not looking ti have all the characters on the same level.
      And yeah I absolutely agree, even with the limited time I had the combat felt immediately great and could ultimately be something that "carries" the game for me. Time will tell :D
