My kids are new to the game. Thanks for this video! It's clear, Ned speaks well and the drills are shot from a great angle...really shows the viewer how to perform the drill.
@gamevidz24 it is called craddling basically it is using the inertia from the ball moving to keep it in the pocket this makes it harder for defenders to get the ball out of your stick.
ive looked up to ned crotty since he was a sophmore in Duke and seeing him go to multiple different MLL teams AND in the team USA team makes so happy. (no homo) haha
@MrHopxy Im a 5th year d pole and i just wanna say that all of that show offy twirling is unnecessary, all you need to do is recieve the ball like an egg, absorbing its momentum
I've been playing lax for 13 years and currently play D3 and i haven't ever really heard a spesific word for it that I can think of, its just called a cradle cuz thats kinda all it really is. It's just a little snap of the wrists to make the ball sit where it should naturally sit in your pocket. You wont get it down for a little while most likely. It just takes time for you to get more natural with your stick, so hit the wall DAILY, HARD, and OFTEN and you'll get better at an astounding rate.
whats that twisting motion u do rite when you catch the ball but just a little bit befor u throw the ball again? ive had this question for a very long time. btw im a beginner in lacrosse and wanting to play this upcoming season for my school
i call it resetting, absorbing the ball and having it where i need it to be if i need to quickly pass the ball, shoot, or bring my stick in close to defend it. No real name for it, it just happens naturally and you get better the more you play.
i wanna play wall ball but i can't on my house my parents would kill me and i live 10 mins from a school for a good wall. but im looking into a rebounder and maybe hanging it on my house haha so i can throw good passes or something
i went to monkeysports in woodbridge nj and a guy named matt mariani told me to try out so im going to. but im not sure what team to try out for. i live in union county, nj. i play lsm. any advice?
@AlexFernandezNigga Everyone answers the same haha i think i know what it is now, see i'm gonna play lax for the first year this year, and i wanna get as much knowledge of it as i can, thanks for the help anyways

you are most welcome!

It's not called "twirling" it's a form of cradling and short stick players do it to move the ball into a comfortable spot in their pocket to pass.
Great Black Keys song and great video

Hey your comment was 4 years ago, how did your college lacrosse go?
Wall ball really helped me, now I can catch everything. I can even jump in the air and catch one handed.
at least ten feet
I love Locrosse
he has done that so many times there are ball marks on the wall everywhere
i wish i had that good accuracy wrong handed behind the back :P
i like the part where he throws the ball against the wall
whats that twisting motion u do rite when you catch the ball but just a little bit befor u throw the ball again? ive had this question for a very long time. btw im a beginner in lacrosse and wanting to play this upcoming season for my school
@dhlover898 Go to a school close to you and use handball courts if they have them
I love wall ball i do it every day even if its snowing
so tempted to play right now.. its 11 pm tho..
Lacrosse and the Black Keys. Yeah, pretty much all you need.
You got good stick handling

i would love to play wall ball, but in arizona all the houses are made of some fake clay crap and a lax ball breaks holes in it....
This is very helpful for my lacrosse training. I play midi on my field. I'm going to win my next game
sweet video man
i wanna play wall ball but i can't on my house my parents would kill me and i live 10 mins from a school for a good wall. but im looking into a rebounder and maybe hanging it on my house haha so i can throw good passes or something
@MrHopxy Yeah you don twant to do it, it's a bad habit and you dont want to do it, it's super hard to lose
@gamevidz24 if you wanna get a better understanding for the game watch college and pro games
sick bro
listen to him it worked for me

What head and Shaft combo would be best for an intermediate attack player? Cuz my sticks getting old and need a new one!
i went to monkeysports in woodbridge nj and a guy named matt mariani told me to try out so im going to. but im not sure what team to try out for. i live in union county, nj. i play lsm. any advice?
right before he throws the ball, he does a cradle type thing. can someone please tell me how to do that?
cradle when you pick
Its not training if you do not practice in your gloves.
Yes it is true
Shaun Freeman true
wtf like everyone on youtube says a diff way to throw and catch
"Hii" at the end hahaa
What shaft is tht?
this is hard with a d pole, and i got no places near me in jacksonville.

@AlexFernandezNigga Everyone answers the same haha i think i know what it is now, see i'm gonna play lax for the first year this year, and i wanna get as much knowledge of it as i can, thanks for the help anyways
My school hates lacrosse because I always go and do this after school and they pretty much chase me off the campus, lol.
Ahah! You make my day!
Somtimes I pass side arm
When does he start throwing with his weak arm...
when i snap my hand when i catch it the ball falls out... -__-
Lets see you try
did and i got 10-10
cradle
@dhlover898 hey i live in AZ to
@GingerStrings thats funny i went there last year and someone stole my stick 4 lax balls and my cleats
Offseason?
righty
me too! I think we're doing it wrong
hes really good
That's very unfortunate. Looks like Arizona is ruled out as a future living destination.
One time I tried this but I accidently hit myself in the face...
didnt hit the same spot once behind the back FAIL....
THE BLACK KEYS !
10 AM AUTOMATIC!
good luck surviving natural disasters. lol
I would probably loose the ball of the edge :)
Play it against the border wall
Yes twirling is hard to get rid of my coach duck tapes my hands to my stick
field is waaaay harder
no chance
you missed the most important part your gloves ALWAYS PRACTICE WITH GLOVES
you cradle...
It must suck if he misses a ball... Right off a balcony.
