Lot of friends said this movie was horrible and such things... I don't get it. I just loved the movie and the soundtrack is flawless. Just flawless and epic. I guess people nowadays don't go with slow pacing sci-fi anymore, just explosions, lasers and kung fu things.
The movie was pretty good, but what bothered me was the fact that it took its main story twist from a very good film called moon. If you like actual slow paced sci-fi, then i recomend you watch that.
I never was a huge fan of the "the aliens were the good guys all along, and things were not as you expected" trope, but the world-building and music were what ultimately sold it for me.
The soundtrack is beatiful , goosebumps all the way to end of the movie . I simply loved the loved the movie man .I don't understand why people hate so much on it, its a masterpiece.
THUNDER CUNTS The simplicity of media and movies nowadays has taken away all of the beauty and introspection. People have a hard time paying attention long enough to build the story on your own. Especially when it is visual clues pressing the story...It is a silent movie of sorts.Tom Cruise's best movie to date in my opinion and I am generally not a fan.. The Soundtrack is a masterpiece as well
Yesterday was my day working at the office. had been working for a world famous architect for near 8 years. In that, survived office politics, backstabbing, the sudden death of my father, almost separation from my wife and daughter, learnt the difference between being a boss and a leader who cares and leads his team. I was also the unofficial office dj playing work time music especially during all nighter projects until a recent bitchy colleague put an end to that. So yesterday was my last day. I stayed till late, packing up and cleaning. Place was empty. Had one last look at the place with all the memories, played this track loud...then turned off the pc for the last time, pulled out my speakers and walked out the door to my future.
me too. this beautiful theme made me fall for this movie. Without this melody oblivion loses it's soul. with it, the movie ascends to somewhere higher and is utterly heartfelt.
this made me think about how I've fought against my long and hard period of depression and I can finally say I'm a happy person and it makes me cry such tears of joy. I worked hard for this
depression is something easy to get over lol. As soon as you start thinking logically why you feel depressed it should be gone. Sometimes I don't understand humans as species. There are alot more harder things and some people can't even get over one depression. Not talking 4 you. Crying over dead siblings is as much stupid as depression. Some people gotta understand that after so many years of evolution you just can't act like this, depression and the rest bullshits.
You simply don't know what you're talking about. A lot of people will probably flame the shit out of you for your comment, but I'm just going to suggest you spend a day researching and learning about the subject in case it proves useful later in your life.
You're completely clueless and ignorant on the matter. From a medical, biological, chemical, social, cultural, and many more areas, depression has been proven to be more difficult to as you put it: "get over," than the most addictive drugs known to man. You're attempting to suggest that somehow evolution should have eliminated depression from the human cognitive capacity... again, you're an idiot. In fact the exact opposite is true. Every study proves that people who experience depression on occasion (not to severely crippling levels) are far more likely to lead an overall happier, better life. Also, people who suffer occasional depression average much higher IQs, are far more creative, interesting, well rounded, empathetic, attractive, have better sex lives, and are successful... all of which are highly desirable for the progression of a society. English not being your first language (I can only assume), is no excuse for idiotic sentences like what you wrote here, in fact it doesn't even qualify as a sentence: "There are alot more harder things and some people can't even get over one depression." And then there's this bit of vomited up brain damage: "Crying over dead siblings is as much stupid as depression. Some people gotta understand that after so many years of evolution you just can't act like this, depression and the rest bullshits." So according to your "professional" opinions which unlike mine, (were not formed at the top universities in the world), claim that grieving - an absolutely essential process for human cognitive development and healing (AND DECREASE IN STATES OF DEPRESSION), is by your own words.... "stupid." Please, for the benefit of modern society, refrain from opening your mouth to comment on anything. It's clear that your cognition never graduated from the "single-cell" phase, and as such, every time you breathe, you are stealing oxygen from those of us who have functioning brain cells and therefore require respiration.
LYRICS: M83 - Oblivion (feat. Susanne Sundfør) Since I was young, I knew I'd find you But our love was a song sung by a dying swan And in the night, you hear me calling You hear me calling And in your dreams you see me falling, falling Breathe in the light I'll stay here in the shadow Waiting for a sign, as the tide grows Higher, and higher, and higher And when the nights are long All those stars recall your goodbye, your goodbye And in the night you'll hear me calling You'll hear me calling And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling And in the night you'll hear me calling You'll hear me calling And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling Breathe in the light and say goodbye Breathe in the light and say goodbye
+Ben Kerry Me too! Like 'living on a prayer' I love how it's so dramaticly. Weirdly enough almost everyone loves it and they barely make songs with these kind of sounds in it anymore.
it grabs your heart doesn't it? first time hearing this I had to just stop and take it in. not many tracks can do that, special ones succeed. The theme gives the movie such power. inspires love and life. "dream of us"
I watched my father die in april 2013 in the hospital 1 month after receiving 3rd degree burns on 80% of his body in a factory gas explosion accident. I went to watch this movie and this song made me cry right on the spot. I always comeback to listen and reminisce... still listening in 2020
To every man upon this earth Death cometh soon or late. And how can man die better Than facing fearful odds, For the ashes of his fathers, And the temples of his Gods.
yes but its a wonderful feeling knowing this life is not the only thing there is there is more to it Jesus has eternal life dont waste the precious gift the creator offers. first repentence from sin in our hearts, he wants to hear from u he has already forgiven us when he died for humanity at the cross and gave up his pure blood for humanity to be saved from wrath we just have to acknoledge him revere him believe change our way of thinking. see a kingjamesbible today.
Watched the movie again a couple hours ago after like 7 years. It was pretty darn good. I remember being a lot more confused as a young teen when I saw it. But as an adult I can appreciate it a lot more 😁
Not only my favourite movie soundtrack song of 2013 (you'll find it at the end credits of "Oblivion" with hints of the music throughout the movie), but also my favourite song of 2013 full stop- and still listening to it frequently. Superb!
As incredible M83 is, and that cannot be overstated, mad love to the vocalist on this one. What an absolutely ANGELIC voice, and a perfect fit with the music. This is some serious soul-affirming music.
Since, I was young, I knew I'd find you But our love, was a song, sung by a dying swan And in the night, you hear me calling You hear me calling And in your dreams, you see me falling, falling Breathe in the light I'll stay here in the shadow, oh Waiting for a sign, as the tide grows Higher and higher and higher And when the nights are long All those stars recall, your goodbye, your goodbye And in the night, you'll hear me calling You'll hear me calling And in your dreams, you'll see us falling, falling And in the night, you'll hear me calling You'll hear me calling And in your dreams, you'll see us falling, falling
This is a brilliant movie, Tom Cruz is perfect for the roll. This movie has become my favorite science fiction movie of all time. I feel its as much a love story as it is a science fiction story, complete with a love triangle. Please Mr. Cruz more of your great Sci-Fi movies.
I could watch this movie a million times and never get sick of it. Otherworldly music, amazing story, cinematography, acting... This movie is absolutely great.
I'm so glad I am a person who can listen and appreciate this kind of music... I know people who would not give a damn about this superb music... I almost feel sorry for them...
I can't stop listening to this song. OMG so epic!! Easily my third favorite song behind Florence + The Machine's "Breath of Life" and Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire". I find myself liking more and more songs/music written specifically for movies.

This is one of those songs I'm ok with turning full volume and blowing out my eardrums for. Susanne's vocals are very top tier on this song, also an awesome movie. Was bored one day and watched it since I had the DVD (for some reason) and I thought it was awesome. Definitely a movie I can say I'd happily watch and enjoy every second of. Watched it in 2014, so it also gives me a nostalgic feel, especially this song.
This movie is absolutly brilliant. If you understand the profoundness, you'll see that the movie tells us things of our past, present and future. It's really philosophical, but it doesn't mean that the movie is bad. To the track; It's one of the first really good pop tracks since a long time. I don't like the people who say 'I like soundtracks' and if you ask them which music, they tell you 'The one of Transformers and Pirates of the Carebean'. I like these tracks, too, but it's often so that the more unknown soundtracks are the best ;).
Discovered this song from one of Shin Lim's performances on AGT. For anyone who doesn't know, Shin Lim is a magician who is very well known. By his mind blowing card tricks, and became champion, winning AGT in 2018. I thank him for leading me to find this song.
Super-awesome end credits song in a great and underrated piece of film making... just like the previous film directed by Joseph Kosinski, because of the (undeniable) flaws in their writings (even though Oblivion is way better in that regard). Just like Tron, Oblivion is a visually stunning and musically exhilirating film ; and Susanne Sundfor's voice fits perfectly.
Jay StCloud Thanks, man. But I wouldn't call it great or epic or whatever... it's only a few lines. I could write a 3 pages critic of that movie ! Hell, I did a one page. It deserves at least that. :)
I agree. This movie was a visual and audio feast. For me it was the underlining story that did it for me. The fact that it was a love story masked by epic sci-fi. The fact that he loved her so much that even his clones remembered her... its just fantastic
This song is so underrated. I've been listening to this ever since the movie was released. If the movie was more successful, this song could have been considered as one of the best movie soundtracks ever. Such a masterpiece.
I think what M83 did for the Oblivion soundtrack is what Vangelis did for the original Blade Runner soundtrack. It is almost as if the movie is a result of the amazing music.
Great si-fi movie, watched several times over the years. The music by M83 is outstanding, especially the theme sung by Susanne Sundfor...it doesn't get any better!!!
This song reminds me of being alone, the good kind though, like the adventurous kind, I would explore my city alone for hours and hours listening to this song and songs like it. 2013/2014 were good years.
Perfect combo of band and singer. Susanne is always flawless. She's one of those that we only experience once in a lifetime. I love how the song ends and then the piano and strings comes in at 4:40 with the same song but just a mellow version. Listen to the chord progression, you can sing Susanne's part right over it and it clicks perfectly. "And in the night........"
I'm leaving this comment here so after a month or a year when someone likes it, l get reminded of this song
Oh my god that girl's voice is fucking heaven
you have to listen her song with royksopp
I agree
@The End looking back on it now yes it is

I also really loved the movie! Edge of tomorrow was good too.

I liked this movie a lot too. I really can't understand why so many people dislike it, just can't see.
who else puts this on repeat

Beautiful song!
+Jasmine Magana I don´t know how to get out of this labyrinthine song...
+Jasmine Magana Moi
I put the beginning of the song on repeat

This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard in my life. Omg.
I don't care what people say this movie was brilliant

The soundtrack is beatiful , goosebumps all the way to end of the movie . I simply loved the loved the movie man .I don't understand why people hate so much on it, its a masterpiece.

Alvin Lapp Kosinski, man. Kosinski. TRON was so beautiful, I almost cried. Soundtrack in that movie is something else, Daft Punk ruuulz.
+Alvin Lapp i'd say Tom Cruise's best movie would be the Last Samurai, but this is definitely an awesome film
This isn't music. Its the universe!
It's the meaning of the lost word and the last breath from the Sacrifice of a brave Angel, sorry for my english xD

I hope you are doing great..i feel your pain, not as much as you tho, but hope the best for your life
That last "Breathe in the light and say goodbye......" wow.
I think I decided Oblivion was an amazing movie based on the music alone
that's how I got to the movie ... thru this song...
me too. this beautiful theme made me fall for this movie. Without this melody oblivion loses it's soul. with it, the movie ascends to somewhere higher and is utterly heartfelt.
Hence, Oblivion is my favorite movie of all time. Mainly due to its soundtrack, I have no words for how awesome it is.
HB Tech you forgot Lord of the rings then. The greatest soundtrack to a movie.
LOTR was pretty good, but nothing... NOTHING beats Oblivion. soundtrack-wise.
Looking for this song everywhere... Why am I surprised it's M83?? Their music is out of this world, gives me goosebumps every time I listen.
Ikr?!
Its in your emotional memory
If you hear a good song in a movie thats not some basic pop shit, it's M83. Always trust M83
Amazing vocals

Susanne Sundfør and M83 would make a stunning Bond theme.
Susanne Sundfør's voice is always amazing.
One of the most underrated science fiction films of recent years, amazing soundtrack as well!
My good taste in music brought me here.

Your copy/pasting got you here, but OK. This is a superb piece too..

I love listening to this song that played at the end credits while cleaning an auditorium when I used to work at a movie theater.

Not only my favourite movie soundtrack song of 2013 (you'll find it at the end credits of "Oblivion" with hints of the music throughout the movie), but also my favourite song of 2013 full stop- and still listening to it frequently. Superb!
Great track. I do like M83 - their album "Hurry Up We're Dreaming" is fantastic :)
Ben Hills Agreed! I love that album too. Saturdays=Youth is also good (but not as good) with Couleurs and Skin of the Night being my fav's

Love the atmospheric attributes this band has. Great vocals!
Ben A Better check Susanne Sundfor, you'll love her! I recommend White Foxes for the starter :)
This song just hits the feels.
As incredible M83 is, and that cannot be overstated, mad love to the vocalist on this one. What an absolutely ANGELIC voice, and a perfect fit with the music. This is some serious soul-affirming music.

Super-awesome end credits song in a great and underrated piece of film making... just like the previous film directed by Joseph Kosinski, because of the (undeniable) flaws in their writings (even though Oblivion is way better in that regard). Just like Tron, Oblivion is a visually stunning and musically exhilirating film ; and Susanne Sundfor's voice fits perfectly.
i agreed to your great and epic review on this song and the film itself.
Jay StCloud Thanks, man. But I wouldn't call it great or epic or whatever... it's only a few lines. I could write a 3 pages critic of that movie ! Hell, I did a one page. It deserves at least that. :)
Oblivion had a lot of potentiality, not used well
I agree. This movie was a visual and audio feast. For me it was the underlining story that did it for me. The fact that it was a love story masked by epic sci-fi. The fact that he loved her so much that even his clones remembered her... its just fantastic
Still listening to this in 2017. Beautiful is this sing
Holy- I haven’t listened to this in forever.
This song is so underrated. I've been listening to this ever since the movie was released. If the movie was more successful, this song could have been considered as one of the best movie soundtracks ever. Such a masterpiece.
This Music... THIS MUSIC!!
I've listened to this song so many times I'v lost count. So beautiful.
I can't get over the ending portion, just so peaceful, I could listen to it for eternity and never get bored of it
This is one of my favorite songs ever!!!
Me too. :D
Me too. Possibly the 5th greatest end credits song after Into the West, Gollum's Song, May it Be and My Heart Will Go On
I found m83 and like them alot this played and I was moved by it idk if I seen the movie if I did them I was very young 2020
I just remembered this song randomly. Good film. Even better soundtrack!
Aah fantastic movie and fantastic soundtrack. So glad I randomly stumbled across this song again. Definitely gonna have to rewatch the movie now!
Song reminds me of the ending credits to a humans life then moving on to the next world
♥️
I think what M83 did for the Oblivion soundtrack is what Vangelis did for the original Blade Runner soundtrack. It is almost as if the movie is a result of the amazing music.
Shin Lim brought me into this music. It perfectly fits on his routine. Thumbs up!
Great si-fi movie, watched several times over the years.
The music by M83 is outstanding, especially the theme sung by Susanne Sundfor...it doesn't get any better!!!
po prostu cudo !!!!!!!!!!!!
52 Shades of Red by Shin Lim brought me here, anyone?
Same
Shin Lim master

The ending is really nice too. Awesome song :)
This is such an ascending song. Beautiful voice hopeful and sad. Soul touching...
"And how can a man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods?"
this such a beautiful song
This song reminds me of being alone, the good kind though, like the adventurous kind, I would explore my city alone for hours and hours listening to this song and songs like it. 2013/2014 were good years.
Oh my god im so obsessed with this song and it will never get old
i feel sad when i hear this. lol

Incredible. I'm hearing this song over and over again...WONDERFUL!! Songs like this are worthwhile living!
THIS SONG REALLY GROWS ON YOU OVER TIME--A GREAT FIT FOR A FUN SCI-FI MOVIE!
this IS THE Beeeeeeeeest Soooong evvvvvvvvvver m83 i looooooooooove youuuuu!
what an awesome song. I watched the bluray on Saturday. this came on at the end and my surround sound system got turned up a few notches. sweet!
Such an underrated movie
This track made me feel like a wanted to kick a fax machine.
M83 👍👍👍
Towards the end when the piano plays...... speechless 👌💕💕
It has been a while since a song has been so beautiful that it brought me to tears...
The piano 😍
Yes, the piano, also... :-)
are you an effective team?
bensonis No. But M83 and Susanne Sundfor were.
+bensonis Absolutely.
Fuck you Sally!
@@sahilsayed1406 😂😂😂😂😂
I only understood this later on in the film...
How did this song not win a grammy? One of the best songs of all time
