Of course I’m going to try and make an electric toothbrush lock pick. I’ve now watched a few videos and I think I’ve got this. If I mess up, I’ll only be out the cost of one of the cheaper electric toothbrushes like the one in your video.

I had wondered if electric toothbrush to lockpick conversions actually worked. This video answered that, and cleverly showed how the two tools are different. 👍

The Oral-B shaft is rotating, not moving up/down. That's way it's not a good lock pick.

That's what you call going full circle. You could always add a bit of oscillating in there too. We just have to flip off the shoes and chill at times, and why not do it by making a good old science experiment.

Good video. I never thought of making a toothbrush out of an EPG, but I suppose you might disguise one like that to get it through a security check.
I had WAY. Better luck with my EPG made from a toothbrush. Mine will breeze through a master#3.like the one you tried, but I think I used a slightly different toothbrush (oral-b.with cross action) not only does the tip oscillate, but the other brushes also.move side to side, and the rod inside only moves side to side, not circular. Mine works the same way as an EPG except less powerful and less up/down range. I also made a slight hook in the end when I ground down the rod. Cheap master locks are a breeze, but other locks are hit or miss...more miss than hit, although it did open a series 1100 once but I'm calling that a fluke.

Now that was a fantastic video, and I'm so glad you didn't use the pick gun on your teeth, that would have been very bad :) I love thinking outside of the box, and I know you certainly do, thanks for the wacky ideas, they sometimes lead to wonderful and useful things.

You can buy cheap Chinese made ones or very expensive professional ones. Depends on your need
