I would like to express my genuine appreciation from the bottom of my heart to you for this great work. That might seem quite easy for others, but it could be the most difficult task for some who don't know how to do it. Thank you for that.
To avoid that space occurring from going from Table 3 to Table 4; you could right-click on the space between Table 3 and Table 4, select "paragraph". Under the "Spacing section" input value 0.06 in "At" box and click OK.
Or another way is to put the cursor right at the beginning of Table 4, insert Table 3, and when a prompt came up "Do you want to replace the selected table of figures?" click "No". Table 3 will show up right above Table 4 with no space. But this way you need add in reverse from the bottom (add Table 4 first -> Table3 -> Table2 etc,.)
Once you created the list of Tables, do the following in the List of Tables to remove the gap between the list of tables in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4: click on the spot left of the "T" of "Table 4.1"; then tap "backspace" on your keyboard. Let me know if this worked :-)
I see all the engineers(me too) and researchers here working on their projects and reports, just like me. Like everyone says, this definitely has been a lifesaver.
Everyone trying this method, please note that labels you create in one computer won't be available if you use open word in another computer. I tried one in a mac with Word 2016 and another one a windows machine with Word 2016. I spent almost 3 hours labeling figures and tables on mac and when I returned home and checked on my windows machine, it was absent. Anyone trying this try your best to work on tables and figures from preferably one computer so that you won't loose whatever you made. Thanks for the informative video.

I'd appreciate a quick clarification please. @1:05, should we not select the table just prior to inserting caption? Right now, you seemed to have placed your cursor just left of the text. In such scenarios, wouldn't the table by just any random table in the article, and it will not have any relation to the caption that we just inserted. Did I miss something?
You are making a very logical comment. I think its best to play around and see what works best. In my case, it was not necessary to choose the table. But I can see your point.

Hi is there a way for the inserted list of tables/figures to not have a space in between them? What I mean is, in the video, you inserted a table from chapter 3 and other tables from chapter 4. This left a space between them that does not seem necessary as shown in 4:58 mark of the vid. It would be appreciated if you could give a solution for it
I have a problem that I eventually created that list of table but the two sections did not connect together. Look like the same you have at 4:57. Can you or anyone help me to make 2 (even more) sections closer together, I mean no gap between them, as they do not come from 2 separated sections? Thanks a lot!!!
