There’s a reason why this is my favorite superhero movie. It does such a good job of portraying the level of sacrifice it takes to put on the mask and live a selfless life. Such an amazing film with so much heart.
he has the most struggles compared to other spider-mans
At the end when Mary J is in the wedding dress and she says “go get them tiger” that’s straight from the original comics.
The original Spider-Man films had heart and emotional depth. His character was grounded in human frailties and doubts. That's why they were so relatable to the viewers. We root for Spider-Man and wish him well. The audience is invested in his life and well being.
Marvel lost their way imo and went in a different direction.
oh yess.. this days the new MCU feels like flashy and no depth into characters at all.. has some sarcastic jokes and even their powers seem either too overpowerd or insignificant
@@MJoy4Fun yup the new Marvel movies are just cheesy and feel way more like parodies compared to the older Marvel movies
TOBEY MAGUIRE IS THE BEST SPIDER-MAN!!!!
True that!
@@devinjabairemoss indeed but was great to see....(spoilers)well you know and i meant to say(=
@@tiagoalves2056 Peter-2 (Tobey Maguire), I know lol
I like andrews vibe more
I really can’t chose I love them all
I think Aunt M knows. The way she talks to him about heroes, leads me to believe that she knows.
The popular theory is that she seen his Spider-Man suit drawings as she was packing up to move. The camera also showed her interest being piqued when Spider-Man yelled for her to "Hang on" earlier in the movie, indicating she recognized the voice.
@@raveoreynolds6049 I think she knows but is just playing along
You guys are absolutely right! Doc Ock wasn‘t actually the real villain here, the tentacles were
This trilogy is my favorite of all Spiderman and of any superhero trilogy
it is niceee
I love how you guys touched on one of my favorite aspects of the movie: Nothing going right for Peter. And not just the big things, 95% of the scenes of Peter trying grab or get anything he wants is just taken from him from pure bad luck or a 🗑 person 😂 even in the small scenes he can’t catch a break. And so much of it happens on the worst night of his life when he gets slapped by Harry and so on. Everything went wrong at that place, and then to top it all off he has to take a picture as it’s his job, of the girl he loves with Jameson’s son while being shouted at 😂 you feel bad for him, but at the same time it’s just such great writing lol
'What is he hanging onto?' something I have wondered as a kid during the animated series of the 60s.
hahahaha i always wondered that too!
the thing i love about these movie is the friendship with peter and the vilains in here Dr.Octavius he was never evil it was the arms, same with osborn(the goblin, diferent personality)and well you will both see in the future(=greetings from portugal and sorry for my english love u both
i like that too! hopefully we can get more good movies from MCU
i hear DC will start their universe soon either!
Best sequel ever, the villain story here was very well written. I like how on top of Dock Ock becoming a villain there’s Harry who still blames Spider-Man for his dads death.
I love this trilogy this movie so iconic love the story and villain was good as well
When Bruce Campbell's character (the theatre usher) says "it helps maintain the illusion", it was supposed to hint at him playing Mysterio in the canceled Spider-Man 4. It was also supposed to feature Vulture as the main villain, which is why Vulture and Mysterio were the main villains of the first 2 films in the new trilogy.
Damn, I never caught that! He would have been amazing as Mysterio.
This really had nothing to do with them being the villains in Hollands movies. It's more likely they just wanted to use fresh villains that hadn't been used in prior iterations.
sometimes i use or i think the director is using reference of real life situations... no matter how Fantasy based or CGI a movie has.. most of their dialogue is based on some sort of reality... and too be honest i didn't think of Mysterio but how delusional we are most of us this days
You guys were cracking me up with the talk after the movie lol you guys are great!!!!
glad you like it!!
I frigging love spider man!! The most relatable super hero
Spiderman 2 is such a outstanding and incredible sequel on so many levels due to it's witty and clever dialogue and humor, comedic moments, emotional resonance, action sequences, performance's by the cast, and motivational, powerful, and inspirational life messages. Tobey Maguire did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Peter Parker/ Spiderman as he put tons of emotion and depth into his role. It was decent. To this day it still gives me chills and goosebumps 😱😰 as it was just a really perfect, epic, and satisfying way to end the movie and I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍😎👍💯
This one really is the best of the three. And IMO is the best Spider-Man movie of all that have come out so far. The third Tobey Maguire spider-man is ok but doesn't reach the same heights. Thanks for the reactions!
Into the Spider-verse deserves honorable mention.
Out of the villains, Sandman was cast better. All I could see was an edgelord Eric Foreman as Eddie Brock.
I love when horror directors make superhero movies
It's nuts how many there are.
Except for MoM...
@@NPClownumber81googolplex Sam Raimi was the only reason why I went to see MoM
I didn't care about the Multiverse
@@LeonardoKlotz me too man... i used to love the mcu and the raimi spiderman movies and was super hopeful for Holland's spiderman but it wasn't even half as good. Then i was hopeful for MoM BECAUSE of Raimi (i liked Doctor Strange 1 as well and also WandaVision) but horey shet was the contrast to the respect Raimi gave to Spiderman vs. Strange/Wanda is freaking night and day.. Wanda's story got trashed and Doctor Strange got cucked like Loki...
@@NPClownumber81googolplex It wasn't really Raimi's movie though. He was brought it to finish the mess the original director left. The script was also from one of Marvel's writers, and not one he chose. Plus beyond that, it's a sequel to a movie he didn't make either.
Tobey really hurt his back halfway thru filming. so the part where it happened was very real lol
Childhood movie right here. The Spider-Man Trilogy is the reason I'm a huge Spider-Man fan.
In the United States, there was a Spider-Man cartoon that aired from 1967-1970. It had the iconic "Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can..." theme song. I grew up watching the show in syndication. I was born in 1967, but was too young to watch it when it was first on. When Spider-Man was shown swinging through the city, he would be shown up high, often swinging over the top of buildings, and I always used to wonder what his webs were attached to.
Before you watch Spider-Man: No Way Home, you need to watch Spider-Man 3, and The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to watch both Venom movies as well. Venom is a Spider-Man character, but the movies were made by a different studio. However, they do have a small connection to the MCU.
It's like that in the old PS2 game spiderman 2. His webs just sort of go into the sky then in the next game they made it make sense a bit more
Glad to see you continuing the Spider-Man journey
glad you like it!
This was a fantastic movie! Lots of good character development and a good story to push it thru.
Everybody is now thinkin what did he connect the web to at the end 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀I never even realized that as a kid. And I really do believe that the writers made it to where Aunt May knew but wasn’t too sure and didn’t want him to confirm it.
hahaha ohh yeaa
I'm pretty sure that his web is connected to that craine thing that you see Peter on when MJ meets up with John Jameson.
28:18 made me laugh sm bc that’s a question everyone asks when they see this movie
Idk if I said on your first spider man but Tobey was supposed to be the Avengers spider man. In Iron Man 2, they would of spoke about the events here in Spider Man 2 about Doc Ock partially using stark tech.
The reason Tom Holland's spider basically has no background is they felt Tobey and Andrews movies already explained it.
Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina are tied for the top slot when it comes to movie interpretations of comic book villains. Their portrayals of Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, respectively are so well done and written.
This is the strongest version of Spider-Man and this is still a best Spider-Man movie
awesome reaction video, you both are great
Tobey is the one and only Spiderman. Idgaf
Fun Fact Mary Jane's fiancee J Jonah Son at 12:57 is Man Wolf an Ally and friend of Spider man as well the Husband of She Hulk in the Comics and animated shows
Doc Ock's first movie was Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark as that little guy in the opening scene.
Woohoo my favorite superhero movie along with Superman with Christopher Reeve ! Love Tobey’s Spider-Man, thanks again!
22:40 They don't exist here according to No Way Home.
The greatest Spider-Man. It has everything u want in a great film…Oscar worthy 🎉
The general consensus is Aunt May knows Peter is Spiderman when she gives him the speech about heroes.
Not really it was just a form of potential right of passage conversation. Not speech..
The GOAT
Aunt May defiantly knows you could see it on her face when she was telling Peter about heroes. She almost seem to be assuring him it was okay to be Spider-Man that things would be alright.
Now, Spider-Man 3, well it has its good part you will be laughing at it, but…the first version of Venom is very much like Deadpool in Origins Wolverine. They are the characters but they are not true to the characters. Rough drafts to speak, though considering Venom’s powers and body it may have been best to wait 14 years for CGI to reach a point that venom could be as fabulous as he was in his solo film. Pool boy- better writers and director and a fan who wants his comic doppelgänger to be perfect was what lead to the Deadpool films.
Oh speaking of 2000 superheroes. I highly HIGHLY recommend watching the movie Daredevil before watching No Way Home. You could watch an episode or two of the tv show Daredevil but dont have to watch the whole series. But the NWH movie pays homage to both, the movie has a nod to two characters and an actor from it, the tv show homage is to the new actor for Daredevil. Those who seen just the tv show know the actor and new version, but those who’ve seen the movie and show can get a real laugh.
i am scared of the newest CGI tech! soon we wouldn't know the difference between reality and CGI
can't wait to watch more MCU movies.. hopefully we will get into some series too
@@MJoy4Fun yeah CGI has come a long way but I feel it has become too much. Early movies that used a little CGI are holding up even today and movies today that use too much CGI look sloppy and ever since watching/hearing about Ian McKellen crying during the Hobbit movies because of the new tech I do think the film industry should be reining in the CGI. Moderation is key in everything: emotions, food, money, and entertainment.
Tobey Maguire will always be the best spider-man
Wow, I once had a moped like Spiderman, a Puch Maxi S 👌😊😊 must be 45 + years ago, and I remember I modified the engine a bit, and made it running 60 km/h.
Yeah, the good Olde times
Cheers 😊😊
I had a Puch too (my mom’s) but it was 1980-81. Went from that to a Honda Elite 80 scooter. Loved those two!
@@Divamarja_CA I used the Puch for transport when I started working, and when I got a driving license I bought a car. 😊 I live in Scandinavian, so driving a Puch in the winter is a challenge 😱
Don't listen to criticism of Spidey 3. I'm sure you'll emjoy it.
Please guys finish the Spider man journey
I will say one thing for MJ. She dodged a giant bullet, in the form of a terrible father-in-law.
Great movie
Marian…you are a very fortunate man. 👏
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits of NWH
But do you know who else deserves a big thank you?
LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy and TASM1 had depth
Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
The best superhero moies n any franchise is when they lose their powers or give them up - cos being a hero is in your soul not your abilities.
Love you guys reactions. Keep up the good work
Thanks so much!!
The avengers do not exist in this universe, and the Toby Maguire Spider-Man universe
I know it’s next level cheesy, but one of my favorite parts of all teh Spider-Man movies is when the people catch him and carry him back in the train, and the kids give him the mask back and say they won’t tell nobody.
not cheesy at all it reflects the humanity on people that is missing in these days
That scene reminded me of the bridge scene in the first movie. The people recognize him as a New Yorker and he helps them and so they have his back. Also when the one guy goes “he’s just a kid” I think a lot of them stood up to Doc Oct because they wanted to help this kid who had just saved their lives.
that was quite a scene, it looked isolated and warm.. some random people who were thankful about Spider-man sacrifice.. also surprised that he is just a kid... a teenager
Part of what makes this sequence so.powerful is its "Christ" symbolism. After many desperate attempts to stop the train, Spider-Man's arms finally become ourstretched like those of Christ on the cross, as he is literally acting as a savior for the people on the train. When the passengers pass his body back through the car, they do so reverently, as if handling the body of a saint, while music plays that sounds like something out of a Biblical epic.
IMO *Pete* explained best why he's *Spider-Man* back in *_Captain America Civil War._* It was sort of a spin on the _'with great power comes great responsibility'_ when *Peter* said to *Tony,* _"When you can do the things that I can do, and bad things happen and you don't do anything about it, then it's like they happened because of you."_
*EDIT:* 24:59 It lessens the drama, but Peter should've told Harry, _"Of course I'm not Spider-Man, ya dope! Doc Ock has MJ! Spider-Man's gone, I put this on to save her!"_
RIP Laura Ziskin and Alvin Sargent
Spiderman was nothing without them
Alvin Sargent also wrote the Oscar-winning screenplay for *Ordinary People* (1980), a powerful family drama that you might find very interesting. The film also won Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor for its teen star, Timothy Hutton.
Pizza time !!
Recommendation for you to react: Assault on Precinct 13 (1976), this movie is classic.
yesss make sure you watch toby and andrew spiderman movies before catching up with the new MCU 😊😅🎉🎉🎉 love the reactions! The first two toby movies were the best
You guys are cute together ❤️ just saying :)
The reason why spiderman lost his powers was because Peter didn't know who he was supposed to be, being spiderman costs him alot, but being Peter Parker costs him alot being spiderman. They can't go hand in hand
Mary Jane for the streets😂
LAURA ZISKIN was the only one capable to save this movie from AVI ARAD
After she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1, there was nobody else to stop Arad from ruining everything
May she rest in peace
Great movie. Like I told you the first movie Spiderman 3 is beyond horrible and the Amazind Spiderman movies are even worse . You should watch Darkman 1990 which is an original superhero Sam Rami made (The director of this movie) before he got to direct the Spiderman trilogy with a young Liam Nisson. Also you should watch the Christopher Reeve Superman movies at least 1 and 2
Spiderman 3 isnt "beyond horrible" it's the worst of the trilogy but it's not bad, it's just not great like the other two
Que hablan...Joder..🙄🙄
This Spider-man is so personal. Its has such right wing potential. True Underdog story. Overcoming heroic tribulations. It feels dramatic, still get me emotional. The new Tom and Andrew has nothing to serious cry about. Its so emotionless and Overexsagrerated character. Henry Cavill is also a terrible man of steel. Tobey and the rest on this film is perfection of personification we can relate too. I recommend to watch Superman returns Brandon Routh is the best superman portral. Just like Tobey mcguire is the real spider-man
Five years later they finally react to No Way Home
well, only three movies left after this one to set up for NWH
