Good video i must say, your tips and tricks definitely help out the beginners! I haven't seen all your videos yet but I think if you showed how to make an automation clip (i.e. the volume and/or pitch rising or lowering automatically) it would make this video even better!!!
1. No I am not disappointed with my own audio prod. 2. No I don’t wait for the next plug-in which will become that magic button I lack. 3. Music production is not the most complicated thing I’ve made. 4. No, absolutely no haircut like Skrillex.
Thank you so much for this very helpful film. Your delivery is awesome too, easy to follow and certainly inspiring. it would be great to see you do some more of these EDM production films.
Thank you.. this is an exact explanation to one of my million questions!! I will be using your videos to further my education. This is exactly how I learn!! So happy and excited to have come across you!!
The second track! You should put that on Rocket League video game! They have the best music in that style and always add new artists to their soundtracks! Put your song on Rocket League 🤩
I’d like to get into this, but lost as to what gear I need to start off with, program, soundboard, what is a good beginner set up for this type of art?
(Before watching the video) I just really like and vibe with music so when I hear elements I like I remember them and when I first started making songs I didn’t know if there was supposed to be an order. I just kinda sit there and imagine something I feel like hearing at the time and 4-6 hours later I have a 2 minute and 30 second song. I want to see what people who are better than me have to say about it because I want my songs to sound fuller. I don’t now about music theory or anything. I have a good ear for flow, transitions and melody but my two problems are the song itself just isn’t as intense as I think I should feel and I can’t keep a song slow for the life of me because I don’t know how to keep all that empty space interesting with fewer notes. So I’m just wondering if I’m missing something. I use Soundtrap by the way but all of my better/more recent songs are private.
I had the same exact problem for a long time. Sadly, there's no way around the fact that you should learn some theory. And maybe take a few piano lessons. That's what I did and while my music still sucks, it's much better than before.
hey love this video for drums - but i think where most are lacking is melody creation from a fundamental level like you gave us with the drums. and then how to play chords with it and counter melody extra on and on - i am going to check your other videos but i think this would help our creativity more then anything --- your drops were amazing!
You explained the classic dance beat really well and then played it, but for the hip-hop beat, you just played it without saying when each of the drum sounds (kick/snare/hats) fall in each bar. For those of us who can't figure this out just by listening, could you please spell out the structure of the hip-hop beat?
@1:08 = New Subby Me 😁 I'm a topliner BUT I want to learn how to help convey some of the sounds in my head by making the beats myself. Then I found you ... DJ Phil Harris 🔥🔥🔥 Yeah baybeeee 💃🎵🎵🎵
I think you're a good fit! :) I'll be tuning into your melodic verses sooner than I think.. I am a Logic Pro X user and I've figured out the certain elements of music I am in tuned to.

Those 2 drops in the beginning were just too good bruh.
1. No I am not disappointed with my own audio prod.
2. No I don’t wait for the next plug-in which will become that magic button I lack.
3. Music production is not the most complicated thing I’ve made.
4. No, absolutely no haircut like Skrillex.
Such a great video, Concise and clear . The way you explain the drum patterns and examples of popular songs makes so much sense .
I really hope this shows how to layout the beats I really want to try making a real EDM beat
Hope you enjoyed the vid!

Thanks for this video. You kind of demystified drums for me. It's hard not having a perspective to start off with.
I've been trying to get drum beats down for ages now, with this I think I can finally start holding my own
I’m gonna try make a random drop later just for practice and out of boredom but I’ve been producing for about 3 years now
The tracks are so dope that I started dancing 😂🤟

How old do you have to be for the lessons ??

This was a great step 1. I still need you to hold my hand to get to step 2. I’m sure I can take 3 on my own. 😜
The second track! You should put that on Rocket League video game! They have the best music in that style and always add new artists to their soundtracks! Put your song on Rocket League 🤩

Awesome advice and music, I'm just starting out and your advice is just so fab yet easily digestible

Well Explained Professor. Im a starter at making EDM and stuff like that but I'm barley starting on Mix Pads

I'm a topliner BUT I want to learn how to help convey some of the sounds in my head by making the beats myself. Then I found you ... DJ Phil Harris 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah baybeeee 💃🎵🎵🎵
Do you have any loops of these drum beats. Thanks
This was extremely helpful! In your opinion, after focusing on the beat , what would be the next step in creating an edm track e.g bass, melody etc ?
I am planning on doing more videos like this. My next step would chord structure or working on a drop. I will be doing videos on these things soon. P
Phil Harris perfect, thanks!
Yoooooooooo that 2nd track was fireeeee🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great ideas for starting out. Love the Major Lazor drum style 🤘🤘
First I thought bro wtf but now you really helped me getting started with music production! Thanks mate!!!! 👍

Edit: by best I mean most liked
Regarding your music, definitely not the style of music I listen to, but SO much talent!
Thank you for sharing your knowledges!
I think you're a good fit! :)
I'll be tuning into your melodic verses sooner than I think..
