We banned Castle Siege and Delfino, just to play Lylat and Duck Hunt which are definitely worst stages to play on...

Castle Siege, Delfino, and Halberd are definitely still worse than Lylat and Duck Hunt. One word, people. Stagetransitions.
Plus, Castle Siege and Delfino have temporary walkoffs and passively try to kill you. And Halberd *actively* tries to kill you.
On Duck Hunt, the ducks and dog have a system that is consistent and predictable. And Lylat?.. Well yeah it's got some minor jank, but nothing even close to the transitioning stages.
Yeah Toast Shy-Guy I didn't say that wasn't jank. I'm just saying that Castle Siege, Delfino Plaza, and Halberd are worse.

I think the main reason why it was legal for so long is even though it has hazards, most of them are really slow and predictable, so if you got hit with it, it was either your fault, or your opponent led you into it (except the claw, f*** that thing). I'm pretty sure what did it in was the claw, the low ceiling during the transitions, and that it was very easy to go through the stage and fall to your death when recovering during the platform section, at least for characters with linear horizontal recoveries.
Halberd got banned because of how good Bayonetta was on this stage because of the low ceiling. She could kill you at 20% in a combo.

you can do that to pikachu on any stage. It's a problem with pika's up b more than lylat there. I've seen a ganon u smash on omega stages that hit a low recovering pika using up b.

The only stage I would want to see come back would be defino. It's a super janky stage, but it would add a ton of defensive moments, and a ton of super aggressive moments. I also just like the stage
