    You should have switched to different channels on both routers.

    is that run on wifi Mesh mode or ap regular roaming?

    Is switch really needed between main router and APs? Can't I just simply connect 3 or 4 APs directly to LAN ports on Main router? And one more - connecting wired device to any of the APs will still work right? In that case the Main router which has DHCP enabled will provide ip for the wired cilent connected to the AP?

      Switch in this model is just for extend physical connection from AP to main router. You can directly connect from main router to your Access Point.

      @@pdakos Already did my installation: APs connected directly to the main router and some wired devices connected to APs. All works fine.

      This is fast roaming. If you just do 192.168.0.240 and 192.168.0.241... and so on same subnet as your main ISP router it will connect on cables. You could setup different SSIDS. This is only if you have a big house and you move place to place it will just cut that signal and just connect to the near by router. If you do the same setting without fast roaming it will still work. Try simply disable the dhcp and change the LAN ip to your ISP routers subnet, change the ssid and password, remove the wan interface from OPENWRT network tab and you will served from that routers ssid. It is always better to connect cables and enable wifi then wireless access point.

      @Villu OpenWRT router can act as a switch. A Router like the one he is showing has vlan capabilities. At default vlan 1 is untagged and vlan 2 is untagged on wan port.
      This is an access point "wired" I believe he is doing extra things that are not really necessary for this type of setup.
      If you just connect your ISP router to an OpenWRT router and have the same subnet and DNS plus gateway has to equal the same subnet as your ISP router on LAN you will be online. Wired connection transmits data directly without losing anything.
      Just enable WiFi and setup ssid and password. You could even disable dhcp on ISP router and wifi it will act as a modem and OpenWRT will act as a router.

      Cảm ơn bạn đã xem, khi bạn di chuyển từ con 1 sang con 2, nhưng điện thoại của bạn vẫn kết nối với con 1. Do vậy mạng wifi sẽ yếu ( nó không tự chuyển sang con 2 nếu không cấu hình chuyển vùng nhanh) Chính vì thế cần làm cách này để nó nhận biết con 2 để kết nối đến nó

      @@NETVN82Theo mô hình này thì cần tắt sóng wifi trên con modem nhà mạng luôn, vì bản thân nó không roaming được với 2 con AP kia

      we don't need 3 router, we just need 1 router, if we have many router, we can choose the most powerful router as main router, and turn on QoS on this router, and use weak CPU router as pure access point/AP

    • @ducle5640
      @ducle5640 18 дней назад

      Ông này chả hiểu gì về wifi. Để cùng tên và mật khẩu nó không tự chuyển đâu. Sóng nó yếu tới mức không bắt được ap 1 rồi mất kết nối xong ông phải đợi điện thoại bắt sóng ap2 hoặc ông tự vào mà kết nối vs ap2. Và quá trình này rất lâu nếu không dùng Fast roaming.

      Openwrt could serve as a switch as well. He is just separating connections. With this setup you dont have to have a switch. But a switch is always a good idea since it separates connections and creates vlans.

I was indicating that this method is not necessary if you going to do cable connection with wifi. You could do it with or without Fast Roaming and you dont need the package for this type of setup.
