" Free Will " we have the choice to choose God or sin, we have the free will to do good or bad, right or wrong. A righteous person sees the good in the pile of wood, and a evil person sees nothing.
Whoms eyes do you choose to see through? The eyes of righteous or the eyes of evil, the Free will choose is yours, and the reward or punishment is as well...
My Grandmother who raised me MADE me go to church and be in the choir.She passed away when I was 12.Thats when I left the church and was free.I had learned the 10 commandments and they were my guide in life.And that was all I needed to be a law abiding citizen in life. Then I learned to drive a car and I learned new rules.I made mistakes and learned from them. Teach your children young and your laws will stick with them through life.They will make mistakes and get burnt by them knowing its wrong.Thats when they will change for the good .Nobody has to tell them its bad ,its ingrained in them from a young age.Only when we are free from our parents we take responsibility for our own peace of mind .Parents need to trust their children when they go out into the big bad world knowing they have good morals.they have been taught.They are not ignorant of the Commandments.They know right from wrong. Teenagers want to be free to make their own choices and they want trust they will make good decisions.

Freedom doesn't limit us. What you described is a kind of nihilism and also a total lack of freedom - a country of busybodies, manipulators and control freaks. Who is anybody to tell me what I can or can't be? Even God didn't tell me. He told us what's good, and what's not. It's my choice what I do and how I live. If my choice is very stupid and bad, I might get very bad consequences. Still, I can choose to live by Torah - or not. Live and let live is freedom, and God is the True Judge.

I defense of freedom from religion, if I am free from your religion and you are free from my religion, then neither of us must attack the other on account of that difference. It is meant to curb an excess of zeal, which, let's face it, often leads to violence. If you would like an example, they abound...
As for me...yes...intellectual and moral discipline, which the rational nature with which our Creator has endowed us makes necessary, allows us to free ourselves from bondage to the flesh. From this development of our nature it behooves no one to be free.

One's purpose, this no longer exists today. WW11 post generation had purpose, but life styles changed, so the mother is no longer at home. Father & mother family unit to raise children with a purpose changed in 1960's. Free choice, free sex, free of responsibility with accountability. Consequences were replaced with soft punishment. Every decade brought less and less a family purpose. Family crumbles, the nation crumbles, and moves away further from G-d. America's sovereignty exists on paper only , this presidency has taken America from sovereignty to no borders.
Without borders, our nation can't exist. Borders and boundaries have been negated without accountability or responsibility to G-d.

I was with him till he tried to swiftly mention his thoughts on trans people. Says we're free but then tries to say he is not free to call someone a woman cause they use freedom to say they aren't? It's like he is okay with freedom till it's freedom he doesn't like or when someone thinks differently than him... I'm not trans but the way he swiftly goes there then doesn't elaborate then swiftly moves on kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
The Torah is hardly the place to seek moral guidance from. The Stoics of ancient Greece had a superior moral compass. See if you can pick out the virtue that YHWH admitted to being devoid of in the first commandment. Hint, it starts with a J and is sometimes associated with the color green. If you want to worship the national deity of your supposed ancestors, that's all well and good, but when you hold him out as the arbiter of morality and virtue when he clearly was less virtuous than the average modern human it's rather inappropriate, makes you look like you can't recognize anti-virtue when you read it. Please explain why I should use the Torah as a moral guide rather than the following?

That does sound more virtuous than "beating your slave with an iron rod is perfectly acceptable because they are your property" (Exodus 21: 20-21). But perhaps you, learned Rabbi, can explain why beating them is better than considering them equals. Deleting this to avoid answering it will prove you have no answer and are in fact a fraud.
I disagree, sorry. If one is not enslaved by himself, he still can be enslaved by anybody else. It is not like he can ´t.
