Matthew San has a brilliant Nito Defence - great timing on blocks on such close distance. Something to learn and admire.

Heard lots of good things about Matthew Raymond's nito. Now I can see first hand. Thanks for posting. There's an aspiring Nito player in our dojo who is Nidan and he'll be appreciative of this footage.

@LukeSunTzu Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu is a Kenjutsu koryu (old school) created by Myamoto Musashi, it includes the use of two swords in its curriculum and it's not the only koryu that has that.
Nito in Kendo is the use of two shinai, the smaller one is called shoto, it's not a ryu (school). Do you see the difference now, there are no ryu in Kendo

Niten Ichi Ryu is a school, nito ryu is a style. Japanese use the word "RYU" either as a style or a school. Normally a school with a style is called "ryuha", correct me if I'm wrong.
