I was bottom row at the match nearest to where Zidane head butted Matarazzi and I was complete shocked at the time we lost a legend and I knew at the time he must have said something way out of the bounds, it was crazy.

The only wrong thing in the match is the anti-fairplay madness of a (once) great football player who couldn't control himself and was probably tired to death of being kicked (but THIS is the game, guys; for EVERYBODY). Italy boring, negative, one shot on goal. Played for penalties. Poor team to win the World Cup. Devalued the whole tournament. In contrast at least the French had some flair and tried to win it.

Bummer to see him go out like that but it would have been ridiculous if they would let an over the top foul like that go unnoticed, just like the Rooney groin stomp. If he did make a racist remark that does suck, but refs are there to enforce the rules of the game. Making a harsh comment is not breaking the rules and for some players it's their strategy and they get off on it.

So what if Matteratzi made a racist comment. It's not nice to say but still, you can't just go around headbutting people. If I did that to someone out in society I'd be arrested.
