I'm an El Paso native who moved away around 20 years ago, and looking to move back. And trying to show my wife what EP is like now, so this video was helpful.

I was raised in El Paso, Tx. Came from Pa. in the 50s. Walked to school by St Pius church. Went to Eastwood High School. Not a bad place to live. Some snow in the winter time. Now I am in Florida. Cheers all.
As someone whose family has historically lived here pre ft bliss , Watching the destruction of the few riparian areas we have left (the upper valley ) Is horrific. Huge swaths of concrete in lieu of earth will only make for flooding and more heat domes for the city
It seems to me that many higher end new construction homes in El Paso are being built on lots that are effectively under-sized for the homes being built on them. Sure, it makes sense from a developer's perspective to carve up a parcel of land into the greatest number of lots, but it leaves high end home home owners almost rubbing shoulders with one another. I would understand a high lot density on a rare parcel of land in an otherwise highly populated area, but in some cases we are talking about reclaimed desert land here. Surely, the high-end home experience should include a comfortable degree of separation from the neighbors courtesy of a lot size that is in sympathy with the home being built on it.
I was born and raised in El Paso and i gotta say if you're going to move to El Paso its best to live here if you are starting a family and need an easy place to live or It can also be good if u just want a place to retire. Its a peaceful city not much crime.
Could you do a video on neighborhood that back up to the Franklin mountains? I have always thought it would be so cool to be able to walk out your house and walk straight into the mountains.
Adam Panek you got it! I actually just hiked the Thunderbird Canyon and it is exactly what you describe with homes whose backyards are literally the Franklin Mountains!
I love the Icon homes. I actually started seeing them on a Las Vegas real estate agents channel. Not sure why he’s showing El Paso when he’s trying to sell homes in Vegas, but their homes are amazing and way better priced than the new homes in Vegas.
We just bought a lot in the Upper Valley. My Wife grew up there, right by the country club. A word about water rights. They just call it irrigation. Not all homes there have rights to irrigate. Lately, with the lack of rain and snowfall, the residents are very limited to how often they can flood their yards. Hopefully, this winter there will be a lot of snow. We're definitely looking forward to leaving the poorly run state we live in and heading south. BTW, if you are like me and have 'garage needs', then don't be surprised when you find many older homes have converted their garages to living space. Thanks for putting up this video. It was quite informative.
Just visiting my family in San Antonio and had a connection to LA in El Paso and did not realize how beautiful it was. Considering moving to TX and saw this video ! Thank you very insightful !
The Cielo Vista area is the best. Everything you need is 15 minutes way. Streets are wider. It is not as congested as the far east side, central, or Kern. Kern has cozy cottages. The only thing I miss is the smell of the moutain desert when it rains.
I'm an avid tennis player (55-years old) looking to retire in the next year or so. My question is: is El Paso a good place for tennis, are there clubs? groups etc?
My wife and I plan on relocating but I am not sure we will buy right away. We probably will rent for the first year. If we like it in EP I will reach out. Thanks for this awesome video.
I definitely appreciate your channel in highlighting the important facts for anyone that might be considering moving to El Paso. Suggestion for a future video would be a possible comparison of different income levels according to age and profession, when considering moving to El Paso. Thank you for showing the many good things El Paso has to offer from someone who was born in raised in El Paso, currently living in CA.

Flooding is pretty rare, but it happens in the Upper Valley. The West side of the Franklin Mountains is a concrete jungle, so water has nowhere to go but downhill. Those canyons in West El Paso weren't made by bulldozers! Anything near the railroad tracks in UV has a significant risk. Strangely, our lot is a few hundred feet from the Rio Grande, but not a flood zone due to the levee. I'm getting flood insurance anyway.

Where would you recommend staying for a one month Airbnb? Would be working during the day and ideally go on walks in the evenings, to a gym/ restaurants. During the weekend I would use Ubers or public transportation to go to points of interests around the city :)
@@LivingInElPasoTexas Looking at some Airbnbs I see a bunch in 2 different areas near Downtown. Union Plaza and El Paso High/Virginia. hi, downtown and union plaza (pretty much in downtown) are great...the downtown is mostly commercial and doesn't have a lot of residential housing within it. There is residential as you start to leave the downtown area pretty quickly and the homes there are older as you can imagine but have tons of charm (Sunset Heights comes to mind). As far as High/Virginia area I'm not exactly sure where that is, I know where Virginia St. is and this wouldn't be my first suggestion for an Airbnb location. My father and I have just gotten contracted on a house over there in the first neighborhood you showed "ventanas" and your videos are making me more excited about our move! 🥰 We are currently living in really expensive area near California and been wanting to move there because the cost of living is just so much cheaper. Also the weather there is similar to where we live now and not too hot like other places in Texas. Keep up the good work!!! 😁
People of El Paso are great but the factory smog from Mx really is bad, lots of dust and matter in the air. If air quality is important don’t move to El Paso. If food and culture is more important it’s great for that! After Covid not sure how many places had to close.
I've have lived in Socorro Tx for 30 years was a council member once, and you are right, but that's what makes Socorro a free society. The will of the people to be free.
Lovely footage to show the neighborhoods. So much growth happening in El Paso I love it. My husbands family lives there we enjoy visiting. I wish I could convince him to move there. Kearn is my favorite area such beautiful historical homes.

Am first generation Mexican American I live in San Elizario
Hey, your videos are really great and I am have been enjoying them. 😁
Hi, that is awesome! Congratulations on making the move!
People of El Paso are great but the factory smog from Mx really is bad, lots of dust and matter in the air. If air quality is important don’t move to El Paso. If food and culture is more important it’s great for that! After Covid not sure how many places had to close.
What can you advise on Socorro TX, suburb of El Paso
Hi Jimmy, got your email and sent back a response about Socorro!
Don’t move to Socorro, I’ve lived here for the last 3.5 years. Gang violence and crime is rising. Cops don’t do shit about it.
I've have lived in Socorro Tx for 30 years was a council member once, and you are right, but that's what makes Socorro a free society. The will of the people to be free.
Now if you want to live LA style, and New York type of crowded, take on the East side. Or go to Horizon, over crowded,
Lovely footage to show the neighborhoods. So much growth happening in El Paso I love it. My husbands family lives there we enjoy visiting. I wish I could convince him to move there.
Kearn is my favorite area such beautiful historical homes.
The historical homes in the Kearn area are amazing! Thank you for watching
Worst thing I see about RE here is high property taxes--not good,
You missed Northills... North East El Paso. Great area.
