  • Good evening, everyone and happy Tuesday! I hope you are ready for an action-packed video tonight!! In this video we will be utilizing both pieces of HiTech Diamond equipment that I own! My 8" All-U-Need Flat Lap and my 10" Slab Saw!! I've got a half dozen geodes from Jacob's Geode Mine that I collected last year (find that video here: • Geode Hunting at Jacob... ) and we'll be cutting and polishing these UV reactive geodes!
I'd say a good 85% of the geodes from that location that I've collected and opened up have been UV reactive, with a vast majority being HIGHLY reactive! If this confuses you, in layman's terms, it means that when we put a special black light on them, they POP with color! So be sure to stick around until towards the end of the video to catch the UV reveal!!
If you'd like to get your hands on some of the equipment that I used this evening, head to www.hitechdiamond.com to view their full selection!! If you do decide to make a purchase, be sure to use promo code 'GCC' at checkout to receive a 10% discount on your purchase excluding the purchase of machines!
Be sure to go and show ‪@RufotrisRootedRockhound‬ some love and subscribe if you haven't already!!

I think it’s aragonite in the calcite that makes it phosphorescent. I think aragonite is more associated with fossils 🤷🏻‍♂️ I kind of suspect most midwestern geodes started off as fossils… even if they don’t look like it anymore.

26:15 This part reminded me of the ring in the hobbit and lord of the rings books. It looks like the glow of elven script shining like magic!
