- The bar was still pretty gnarly this morning. Some good sets coming through for the surfers but not a good place to be in a small boat as two men and their dog discovered around 6.20am, about 15 minutes before a 1.9m high tide. They were almost out when a couple of waves stood up right out back. A smallish one set them up and a boomer took them beyond recovery point and they took on too much water when they landed to stay afloat. No one hurt, fortunately, and the strong sweep across the river mouth deposited the boat and its occupants on the North Shore within 15 scary minutes of the incident. The dog recovered first and could be seen running up and down on the beach with a stick. With the help of a few beach goers they righted the boat and later hitched a tow (from the Noosa Coast Guard) back to the Gympie Terrace boat ramp. It's blowing 15 to 20 knots from the south east at the moment so wouldn't be too exciting out there anyway. Background Music: 'Still Standing'... by Anno Domini Beats. www.fishingnoosa.com.au
They asked the dog what the sea conditions were like. He said Ruff! Ruff!
Not even funny, trying to be funny to get likes on the comment and only got 14 lmao..
Glad the dog survived, I thought it was gone
But those bastards forced it back into the boat ... 😂
@@dilligafwoftam985 Those Bastards are A/H's
thank god the dog was alright, that's all i was worried about.
hmm.. really?
@@NZMuzz Play stupid games and wind stupid prizes. Dog didn't have a choice.
What a dumb thing to say. Imagine making a mistake?
@@jayc1763 I'd gladly see you be replaced with the dog!
Yep, that's where my attention was too. Glad the dog made it to shore.
I’m glad the doggo is ok
That's one crazy dog to get back on the boat, we don't call them man's best friend for nothing.
Dog needs a new owner, for sure.
As soon as I saw there was a dog in the water, thats all I gave a shit about. Great to see it on the beach towards the end. Probably had the time of its life body surfing that big one. Glad you made it dog.
Me Too!!
From the start I was only looking for the dog in the water
Very very lucky! And the dog got back in the boat!!!
Usually, for some unknown reason, when crazy shit goes down, the camera man ends up filming his foot...10 points for this camera man who caught the whole process of natural selection unfolding before our eyes! .. if the hound hadn't led the way back to shore things would have played out very differently.
Cheap boat with motor for sale.
Must sell.
Well looked after. Engine always flushed. 🤣
Natural born salesmen 😂
Glad the dog made it
thx for sharing missed this first time & great body surfing by the dog
Glad the dog was ok
Man! Did u see that dog body-surf? I thought it was a goner. Dogs can swim for hours though. So happy to see the dog at the beach.
We’ll pick up the dog on the way back. Dogs can swim for hours!
I literally couldn't not have cared less about the silly sausages, only thought was for the poor doggo !
really...? wtf
Live jackets ? nah mate never needed one,---- 🙃 glad the dog made it.
I miss the good old days where the camera operator got epilepsy whenever something happened
Dog life jackets are out there, glad it’s ok..
So many nutters these days who care more about dogs than humans.
@@NoTaboos probably because humans are just trash, dogs are mostly pretty innocent.
Nice that the dog is ok
They live and they're out there, scary.
And they breed.
Bob Standen poor pooch 🥺
What did they think they were going to do once they got out there?
The fact that the guy sitting in the front is facing the back of the boat speaks volumes.
I hope and pray that it was no ones first time out the sand bar or worse in a boat at all.
Just my opinion, silly mistakes. First wrong course and line to head out, too ruff for small boat, the weight is almost all in the back, ruff or above average day with swell and no life jackets possibly.
Lessons learned!
Glad to see the help of others and rescue to support.
So happy to see they all look ok.
I’m sure the dog was less scared than anyone else in the boat, imagine. 🌊 🚤😅
Wtf so glad the dog was ok!
Geeez boys safe to say you found the limit of the ol tinnie . What an adventure . Lucky the dog is ok
Wow...we nearly lost it crossing in a 6.8 mtr Haines Hunter SP ...I feel for these guys and their dog. Glad everyone ok 👍...Well done Noosa Coast Guard 👏
their first mistake was taking it out of the drivewayt
Dog: I'm catching this wave back to shore!
Guess those two lovebirds will have to rent a room to try and get away next time.
I guess life jackets aren't so uncool after all lol.
They were so close...that last wave done 'em in. Lucky to get blown to the North Shore. Saved their dog and the tinny. Good work by the Noosa Coast Guard.
On a bad bar no pfd's a disaster waiting to happen
Shel be right mate , doesnt look that rough ............. speaks for itself really
I remember me and my mate ‘rescuing’ a guy on a kayak. He had capsized it and needed some help getting in. The bar wasn’t that big that day but it was certainly a little rough and very consistent. Nice footage.
I think I would fish in the river b4 going out there in that small boat. Glad everyone survived that outing next time let the Dog drive.
did that dog body bash that wave in! legend dawwg
Wont restart that Hydro Locked motor... glad everybody was alright tho
Great channel bro. Thanks from nz
What not to do on a boat , some foward weight would of been good , in tassie under 6m boat for pfd
I wonder if they’ll wear lifejackets in future. Nah, too tough for that life preserving stuff in Noosa.
Great estuary boat
No life jackets & no f@cken clue....
What could go wrong?
Hold my beer!
HAHA!
Not the sharpest tools in the shed. Poor dog should have been left at home, it's not hard to know that the dog can't hang on especially up the front. Hopefullylessons learnt all round
I guess pfd's aren't a thing in Australia. Too bad about the outboard.
glad the dog made it
Whatever happened to the standard "rule" of putting on life vests when crossing the bar?
I would of made them row back!!! Even the river would be choppy today WTF😬😬
Thank God the dog made it!
Enough with the fucking dog already. There are no gods.
You can’t beat bad luck.
It's a dogs life. Were they hiding PFD's somewhere ?
Mate plenty of space between the waves why charge at the big one, i would shit myself too, but would whip it back around wait until soft enough to turn back in. Noosa bar definately hard to read sometimes, glad all ok,
Just try the river when it's that big in that boat. Tinnies aren't very comfortable bottom side up. Been there. Dog and all. Makes for a good story later on.
Dog was like forgive my idiotic human
Crossing the bar on a day like that without wearing PFD's at least till they get out there is a good way to become a statistic.
Damm I loved that knife
Dogs on boats is just stupidity,my friend lost his dog on his boat, tried to backtrack but never found him ,horrible death I'm sure
All i cared about was the dog! Lol
Where were they going with that roll out wider
EXACTLY
Not all heros wear capes
No lifejackets? That's just dim.
Gee those waves look big...Nah she'll be right.
I hope he got his boat license revoked. Tbh all I wanted was the dog to survive. So glad it did
Why put your pet through that
Came for the clever comments but none, all doggo.
🤔 🤔 As often as I see people capsizing There 🤔 🤔 Good On Y’all But 🤔 🤔 The Petrol ⛽️And Oil THATS getting Adding To “Beautiful Ocean” 🙁 It All Adds Up And OUR MOTHER 🌎 She’s In OUR HANDS And That’s SCARY!! 🙏🌎🙏
Back to ya tea leaves snowy
lucky the tide was coming in
They should give the boat a miss. 2 Crumbed Cod and chips, much cheaper. haha.
Not good when your dog is acting as forward ballast yes?
That's crazy
And for some boaties, they don't do their homework.
Why don’t any of these people doing. This stuff in huge waves wear life jackets?? Why!???
Full send
Madness
poor dog
Cue the Benny Hill music
Poor dog....
HEARING you alll!!!!
Agree re poor dog - he had no chance, innocent loyal pooch - so glad he was OK! As for the two men - no words other than fancy putting their dog in that situation. Stupidity? 🤬
Good lesson for them, next time, Life Jackets boys.
No life jackets 😮
not wearing pfds!
Full throttle and up she rises

Earli in the morning
too much weight in the back. the boat needs to be balanced if you plan on crossing bars and jumping waves ,with as much weight at the bottom center of hull. like a fuel tank. another good idea is to purposely jump your boat in a controlled environment to know how your boat acts at departure and re entry. glad that nobody was seriously hurt and it even happens to veterans at bar crossings.
To rough for that little boat
don't need life jackets ... the dog'll teach us how to swim!
In NZ those are the ones that drown, wrong vessel for the conditions, no safety gear, little experience, and usually overloaded. The problem is that new tougher rules get imposed on everyone because of the the safety zealots but these people don't take any notice anyway.
Hey Dave. I've got an idea. Let's go fishing🤔
Not a life jacket in sight
That’s No place to take a bathtub!
Darwin Award candidates missed out just barely.
Looks like everyone made it... all that matters.
Next- time Doggie...leave the people @home!!!!!
Looks like the surfers are working on there short game.
their
Would have been lots of fun
Where's there safety beacon? Bet they didn't call Coast Guard to rescue there sad souls!!
Life-jackets FFS???
Winning
Helps if you know how to cross a bar
If he backed off at the right time and his crew moved forward to keep the nose down after they hit the peak they might have made it. Crew is everything.
You are dealing with illiterate stoners here, who never finished school.....cos they already knew everything.
Hahaha...all these comments. I know the blokes, 1 pretty well. They have probably done more bar crossings then half of the coastgaurd pilots. That was just a case of bad luck for those boys. The dog owner is part fish n im sure the dog is too. They were more worried about all the fishing gear they lost. Salty seadogs paying their dues with a dip.
