I just listened to this on my way to work with my phone’s volume all the way up and my car radio on 30. My whole car felt like it was about to explode.
I've seen Jucifer live and that wall of sound does punish the ear drums. It was too painful for me to be in the same room for more than a minute or two. Unless I plugged my ears.
I've seen them four or five times. I can't remember if it was the first or second, but one time I had to leave. All the shows I've seen, I was almost embarrassed to suggest that my friend and I leave (he drove...I offered to walk home). We left...he never said it, but he was probably a bit relieved. That time was just so ridiculously loud, maybe it was the acoustics of the particular club. I was in college and had very important classes the next day...wouldn't have been able to hear a thing (learned that in high school). Anyway, I saw them a few more times and always stood front and center against the stage...no ear plugs, just redemption for having left that show. Excellent every time. Against the stage is where you should be at a Jucifer show.
I saw them in a tiny club in Denver in the early 2000s. There were maybe 40 people there. As soon as the first note was hit, everyone--and I mean everyone--took a step back from the stage in unison. Incredibly loud.
other notable super loud musicians: Frank Zappa, Bo Diddley, Helmet, Melvins, Boris, SUNN O))), The Body, Thou, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Mars Volta...
I've seen them well over a dozen times. I always tell people that you have to come see this band because they are the loudest fucking band ever. Amber's wall of sound is incredible. Ed is a badass too.
I really love all Jucifer material, but this performance is just so... yeah, so SO! I can't understand why I have not yet have the chance to see you performing live since I first discovered you in the 90's :/ Anyway... THANKS FOR THE MUSIC!!!!
Thats a massive complement to our studio!! :) We love this music! THats why we went the extra mile to push it till our ears bled and our brains collapsed of sound pressure :)
when i saw them here in austin, tx it was a fucking wall of speakers behind them. so bad ass, i got to hang with edgar for a bit take a picture and got a drum stick they were both extremely nice people, i've always enjoyed their music
Second only to Sunn O))) and MAYBE Swans as far as sheer volume goes. Sunn O))) has them beat by quite a large margin, though. My eyeballs never rattled in their sockets during a Jucifer show lmao
she's pretty secretive about her rig and tone because she wants peoole to do their own thing and not immitate her. Asked her once at a show and she said she uses a bunch of different random old preamps and amps (shit like solid state peaveys) and dails them so "they all sound like shit but sound good together". Some are set clean some are cranked and for distortion I'm pretty sure she uses a boss bass overdrive, crushing pedal for this kind of music.
Greatest husband and wife garage band ever!
Wish they were my neighbors
By far the loudest band i've ever seen live.
My ears were ringing for another 2h after their show. Best gig ever.
Thats exactly how i describe them to everyone
Rattle your guts loud is how I describe them to people
How do they compare to Sunn o)))?
I really need to see these guys!!!!!!!!!
I've asked how loud. Said they were testing at jet levels.

NONE HEAVIER. PERIOD. BEST ENJOYED LIVE. If you've never seen them live or met them I highly encourage it.
Best live band ever. Does not matter the genre.
I am 50 years old and been in to heavy music since high school and I’ve been to 1000 shows. I cannot believe I have missed this band.
I've seen a lot of bands over a lot of years...some loud, others really loud. I've seen Juicifer several times...absolute "earbleed" volume.
