Israel has seized the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, forcing tens of thousands of Palestinians to flee the area while shutting down Gaza's main entry point for humanitarian aid.
In the meantime, university students in the United States are protesting against the country’s unconditional support for Israel, which has resulted in arrests, suspensions and expulsions.
This week on UpFront, Marc Lamont Hill challenges Newsweek opinion editor Batya Ungar-Sargon on her depiction of Israel's military actions in Gaza as “just”.

It's such a relief seeing Dr. Marc Lamont Hill interview people and push back on misinformation so expertly. Correcting the record on Gaza health ministry figures in real time by noting he read the original telegram in both English and Arabic truly made me smile in what is otherwise a horrifically dark and bleak reality of people defending genocide.

Batya Ungar-Sargon's conduct on Al Jazeera should *reflect poorly* on Newsweek. Lamont Hill could have pressed her harder instead of appearing to have "lighthearted" moments with her. Her accusation that "Hamas *inflated* death toll figures" concerning the "missing 11,000" was a gross misinterpretation of the *Gaza Health Ministry's* [she calls "Hamas"] inquiry into 11,000 individuals suspected of being under rubble. The Ministry's death figure did not include the missing 11,000 people. It was Israel that revised its death toll figure from 1400 to 1200. Did Batya feel compelled to accuse Israel of "inflating death figures"? No!

In a recent interview the official Israeli spokesman Avi Hyman was asked several times by Piers Morgan why he could state the number of 'terrorists' that had been killed but did not know the number of civilians killed.
His response was embarrassing silence.

It's typical media training where you hammer the main talking points all the time in the brief moment you have on the media. Piers knew that game and didn't let him do it on his show. Dr. Hill should've done the same thing. He is smarter than she is and knows that game as well as Piers.
