I wish we had more people that respected these older machines. Props to you! This is coming from a person who still uses their 2010 ThinkPad in 2022.
i agree. mods keep these old machines alive.
MAn i used to watch you 3 years ago and now i have my own optiplex gaming pc
Tossing a bit of money towards this would make it a pretty decent lower cost rig.
Like a 1150 xeon 4 core 8 thread cpu (roughly double performance from that I3 4130)
Like a xeon E3-1240 V3 released june 2013 & is basically a I7 4770 performance wise but cheaper then the actual 4770 used.
Gpu like a 1050 ti or 1060 6 gb would be pretty good for this as well.
The E3 1240 v3 is a great cpu if you can get them cheap.
Finding a working mobo can kinda offset that cost at times. Set up is also usually more of a pain. Sometimes you can run into actually work based i7 4770 for next to nothing, too - with less of a battle to get it working. But a lot of this channel is basically working with stuff he got for free or next to free. It's like pretending to be a teen just moving out and surviving off ramens.
The E3 1270 V3 are going for $30 right bow
Yeap, another one great conversation!!!!
And ,you gaming reminds me a phrase from one of the "Iron Eagle" movies.
"it's the man,not the machine"!!!!!!
Now THAT'S a blast from the past...
I love this channel. Takes me back to when I was some poor 20-ish year old kid putting together junkers so that I could play games. This just proves that you don't need big money to play PC games. Although these cheap old rigs will limit you slightly.
love seeing you mod and making the pcs run smooth and look epic in the process
holy fuck, I knew you did retro modding I assumed you did retro gaming but damn Apex skills right there. Old time viewer from like 2017, back when you made the BO3 Optiplex. I was like 19 when I wanted to make one. Good video my guy.
Its been a while since you posted. Good to see ya back at it.
If you're willing to take the time, look up the layout, and buy some Dupont wires then you can easily wire up the front panel on this to the front panel on the case you have it in. I've done several swaps using the Thinkcentre M systems. They often work with CPUs outside of the "official" specs in a similar way to the Dell Optiplex systems.
Awesome job dude, congratulations 🎉
Always love your low end mods
Love the videis cant wait for more.
Love the channel, Love your work!! Would you ever make tutorial videos that are in Greater detail how to clean up PC'S or how to custom paint PC computer parts, the way you do. THOSE will be awesome VIDEO'S to this channel, TO learn from the master 🙌 himself 😁👍
Always a pleasure.
great content love it!
I always updoot modstek. You do good work.
So many years later and this tech magician still doesnt have 100k subs. What a shame.
It was a fun ride though no regrets
Pretty Awesome 👍
imagine a guy using gtx 560 taking you down in apex legends with your high end pc using rtx 3090 😂
i used to play apex on my VERY old gtx 260 and after 2 years of playing on it (winning over 200 games) it is playable on a 260
Should have painted the GPU shroud yellow man-would have made the moar-chine(😉),even slicker!
Back to the Roots, Yeah
You've convinced me to buy a rotary tool and cut my first window, wish me luck 😂
You can do it! Just remember to wear safety goggles/glasses because cutting disks WILL shatter on you. And cover your nose and mouth with something while you're doing it too, you don't want to be breathing all that junk in or else you'll be smelling/tasting heated metal for a while afterwards.
It's been awhile
I have this dell xps 8700 that wont turn on, if I hold the power supply button then it kind of turns on but doesn't post. Hitting the power button does nothing do you have any suggestions to get it to work. The motherboard light is also amber orange. The specs are i7 4790 x4 4gb 1600mhz 256gb msata drive with the stock power supply
I would try following the power button wires to the front panel on the motherboard and pull it out. Then use a small flat head screwdriver to hold the two posts and see if it powers on. If it does the power switch is faulty or gummed up.
mods is wreckin dudes on $1,000 rigs with a $12 rig lol
First 😎
12 dolar? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
