I've seen her several times at concerts and events, but, yeah, I also met her in person, face to face at Anime Expo earlier this year. She was a guest there and there was a meet and greet. She was at a table and I was able to go up and talk to her for a bit, about 20-30 seconds or so. It was nice.
Ah! That she envies. What did you ask? I imagine that you were barely able to get close to her and with time limited, much less were you able to take a photo of her? How unfair, what I wouldn't give to see it at least once.

@@DreiganD. You don't get to take photos at these sorts of things. it isn't allowed. Specifically with Japan, photos and the artist's image are very, very heavily controlled. Photographs or any other sort of recording by attendees are almost always forbidden.
I planned what I was going to say ahead of time, so I was able to talk to her in Japanese, but there was an interpreter there to help translate if needed. I didn't really ask much, just introduced myself, talked a bit about her work, mentioned I was going to her event later that year, standard small talk. It was just nice to be able to speak to her directly.
I imagined that you couldn't take photos, they practically take over the artist, they are quite... Distrustful and protective of the artist, I feel like they were protecting a president or a divine deity, I understand that they don't want to run the risk of someone hurt but they make it look very exaggerated.
I imagine you were also talking to her several meters away, right? Honestly, it's a little uncomfortable like this, I even feel that the situation would be like talking to a pre-programmed mannequin, I know it shouldn't be like that, I wasn't there to live the experience but from what you tell me you make it feel that way.
I think that despite how much I love her and everything and I wouldn't like to meet her, at least not in that way... Cold and uncomfortable as they present her, if I can't talk in a normal and relaxed way with her, I prefer that My dream of meeting her remains a dream, I have a very different image of what she is like and I think it's more fear of being disappointed that she's not the person I thought she was... PS: One last thing, is she as short as they say? I know she's 1.50cm tall but I can't imagine someone of that height. Hehe, I can measure her height but seeing someone of that size in person must be different, it's one of the things I like most about her, she's super small.

@@DreiganD. You seem to be misunderstanding. Sure, I wasn't allowed to take photos of video or whatever, but when we were talking she was just on the other side of a table. She handed me a card when I first walked up. We were able to talk quite normally, or at least as normally as can be when I was mentally freaking out over actually talking to her. The reason my time with her was limited was because there were 300 other people waiting to talk to her too.
Yes, she is, in fact, that short. She is a very small person. It is quite cute.
