I wish we had some good trout streams or ponds near me. I've always wanted to catch one! That's definitely a pretty reel. Seems to be the Japanese version of the Fuego. @@danspanos trout is very popular in our country and even some not too southern states got em for stocking certain times of the year. The market is too focused on main stream bass fishing. Americans do no like shallow spools. When I worked at a fishing shop I sold plenty of 3000 size reel over 2500 just by simply telling people the main difference is line capacity. The bass market is what the reel companies cater to. For some reason a lot of people think a bass is gonna spool them out. I understand chopping line but if you get spooled out from a bass someone messed up🙄.
Not sure if Americans are properly educated of the benefits and usage of shallow spool reels. But, for main stream bass fishing, I can see why... They all want to use thicker stronger line and just haul fish in for a pay check!
@@rawrfishing That makes sense for baitcasters. Usually when I spooled up line for customers on spinning, 20lb braid was the max and it was for finesse techniques fishing. I would put #0.4goh maximum for pond trout, with these small spinning reels you have felt drag washers that are way smoother than any carbon stack and especially in a baitcaster giving you more confidence in fishing thinner lines. Also spinning reels benefits heavily from thinner line when it comes to casting distance, as the spool remains fuller and you get less drag when line is coming out. Then the 2000 sized reels from Daiwa and Shimano actually are the same in everything as 1000 size reels but have bigger spool, so you have an option to buy 2000 size spool for your 1000 size reel if you need more casting distance, as with bigger spool it makes less coils that which also means less friction. :D I personally love Daiwa's FC (finesse custom) 2500S or as of now, they call them regular 2500S and the true 2500 size reels are called PC (power custom) and Shimano just calls them C2500S as they have 2500 sized spool (almost) with bigger rotor and 1000 size body, they're monster casters and the weight difference from regular 1000 size reel to compact 2500 is very little, like 10 grams..
Yes, spinning reels must be maxed capacity with the thinnest line you can use to achieve max casting distance. I think I will find a spool of 0.4 gou. I have one but it only had 75m in it. That would mean I need some backing lol... Maybe I can back some thin PE line from an old bfs reel...
@@myth-hc9df u can do that if they are that active. But a more finesse approach was needed for these 2 day. Rarely any fish hit the spoon or other fast movements.
@@richnet12 i need one or two, so yes! While everyone knows I am a strong advocate of Bait finesse... I see it only as a tool and will swap to a different tool when it is necessary.
