Cool vlog, this actually happened to me too at my first comp, where I competed just for 3x3, and wanted to get a sub 20 ao5, and got an 18 average, and in the second round, I got a 15 single and 17 average
I also went to my first competition yesterday ended up getting a 3.81 2x2 single and a 10.87 average and a 24.39 3x3 single and 26.49 average which I expected do to a quite a bit better with the 2x2 average but going to this competition added to the burning passion I already have for cubing and I couldn't have been any happier because of it

It's not just for beginners, it's for newer and less experienced competitors and since I'm not too good at cubing I decided to sign up for that one
