Excellent video! The visuals were spot on. I have been meaning to write this... I watched this earlier in September and after October, when the season opened. I hunted with my bow through the end of November. My tag was full. Best season I have ever had. Was in a ground blind and every deer went down less than 30 yards away and expired in just a few minutes. My freezer is full and I have 2 beautiful mounts. Thank you!
I always visualize the vitals before I shoot. If it's quartered away and you visualize what you're shooting at you'll see right where to place your shot. I like how you made this very visual.
I had a good quartering away shot on a small spike today and I took it. I hit it a little bit higher than I was aiming but only by an inch or two. Anyways, the shot was one of the best I’ve ever made, it entered into the rib cage, went between his lungs, and caught the top of his heart. He didn’t go very far lol. I wasn’t using a bow though, it was a 30-06, so that probably made somewhat of a difference but I guarantee that would still be a clean ethical and quick kill with a bow.
Pretty good stuff! Even though I've been bow hunting 30 years and have read different articles and have seen numerous video's on shot placement, yours is certainly the most detailed. I'll be more cautious with "picking my spot" this fall. Best wishes from Okla.
Small animations and sound effects were not necessary, but they were appreciated. Great video, helpful to me and I’m sure many others. I have stuck an arrow on a humorous(thinner part of scapula), did not get penetration or the deer. My shot was too high and forward. I will take the same aim with rifle but for archery will let them take a few more steps to get em from slightly behind and avoid those big bones.
Def one of the best and simplest views on shit placement. We watch so many other videos and we get dragged to sleep during videos waiting to learn. But this video cuts to the chase the graphics are great. Hope to see me. Great job buck guy.
Great video, very informative, but don’t you find you get a lot of gut opens on that quartering away shot with a nice broad head? I personally don’t take that shot due to gut stank I wait for a different angle, looking forward to your feedback as I haven’t tried that shot before. Thanks!
shot two deer quartering at me last season...right in front of first shoulder and out the other....fixed heads close range...bam...they went a combined 27 yards
Now hold on. People shooting low poundage bows do not hit shoulder. Focus on a smaller focal point on the deer but not too far back. Great explanation thanks
Thanks for these informations. I was searching videos about this to apply all that a the "the hunter", the hunting simulation on pc. I hope to hunt deer in real life in the future.
No offense... It is THEORITICLLY correct; IDEALLY it will minimized flesh/hide damage. But the problem is the real world hunting will never be the same. :-( I saw this video before I went to my muskox hunt. I had a perfect position as shown in the video so I decided to take a try. The ox turned to its left side a bit just before I pull my trigger. The bullet entered from its rear left leg, but went through its belly all the way out. Pros: Minimized flesh/hide damage, especially on the prey for the hide. Cons: Narrow down vital aiming area.
I have heard a lot of shot placement but this one make a lot of since my dummy deer & deer stand fell apart I need too practice a lot I ended up shot about a quarter shot about the sweet spot at a doe this year she bleed a lot but never found her which is a bummer I don't like killing a animal if I can but when I shot with a crossbow this shot I know I penetrated the lungs with a 100 grain broad head called gravedigger I never found my kill even with 2 1/2 guys looking for her.
Not importantly the strength of the arrow will determine everything . I see shots that just get stuck in deers back. I would not recommend shooting so far back with a compound bow
samuel olinger thats almost any deer shot with rage lol. Sure it is undeniable the entrance and exit holes of rage WHEN they work and hold together. But i do disagree with his comment about taking a ahot through the scapula with a mechanical especially with a 70lb draw shooting grim reapers. Have never failed me yet
UpstateArms1 agreed people give mechanical heads way to much crap I actually shoot rage my self although it would be nice to have penetration and bone crushing like a fixed blade I trust my abilities to hit a deer behind the shoulder
Or work on taking closer shots... 98% is just a little inflated unleaa your watching the tv hunting shows but to this day ive never had a deer string jump and duck my arrow
If hunters today would learn to butcher and process their own deer , heck a lot don't even know what field- dressing means, dissecting a carcass is very important if you want a quick clean ethical kill

This is the absolute most amazing explanation for shot placement I have ever seen. Great job!
Perfect explanation especially for the young hunters who have chosen to hunt with a bow. Good job and thank you.
Yeah you’re right I am 12 and just drew a deer and turkey tag and I am hoping to get one this year in this video really help me

One of the best shot placement vids on here ...sound could be better
Killed one quartering + facing away from me yesterday. Now the video is in my recommendations lol. Great vid.
I just killed my first bow deer quartering away a couple days ago
@@whitetail_15 congrats!!
@@grayk3460 thank you
Now if I can remember that when that deer steps out.
Exactly😎

Sorry shot not shit lol
Hahaha!
Great instructional video! I have to refine both my target practice and bow hunting techniques to make this type of shot consistently.
🎯🦌
Pure gold! This is the truth.
Thank you this video helped me get my first deer can you do one on hogs
Great Tutorial ... Thank you so much!
Great video of shot placement. Thanks!!!!!
As someone who has shot quite a few deer i find this information spot on nice video
You would have to shoot a pretty high draw weight to make it through the shoulder blade
I usually aim through deer to the opposite leg and it does the trick.
Lou Lage with a bow
In other words, aim for the front leg on the far side, halfway up the body. Done.
Exactly, I'm not sure how that even needs explaining.
Great video. What is the name of the company that makes that vital example target?
Never thought I'd hear Cosmic Gate - Back to Earth as background music for a hunting video
Excellent video..
Great video, very informative, but don’t you find you get a lot of gut opens on that quartering away shot with a nice broad head? I personally don’t take that shot due to gut stank I wait for a different angle, looking forward to your feedback as I haven’t tried that shot before. Thanks!
Your comment didn't get a love heart... Gotta tow the line bud. Haha
Great insight, thanks very much. Will take this to the woods with me.

EXCELLENT VIDEO
That is very good information that I will be using from here on out, thank you
Nice stuff!
Does anyone have a link on where to purchase one of those models? Is it a shootable target or more for visualization purposes?
When quartering away aim for the exit of your arrow.
When quartering towards aim for the entrance.
Simple
Beautiful.
Thanks for the helpful tips
Hello everyone, I have a question, is the shot placement for a roe deer the same for the white tail demonstrated here? Thank you
Yes it's virtually the same on all four footed mammals. It will be within the acceptable range of error on any game species.
shot two deer quartering at me last season...right in front of first shoulder and out the other....fixed heads close range...bam...they went a combined 27 yards
Good advice thankyou
Wow, thank you so much for the explanation!
Did clarify some target points here...
I dont hunt from tree stands. But I loved this video.
Where can one get that deer form?
Where can I find a model pice like that
Not a bow hunter but best video I’ve seen on good shot placement
Awesome video!
Sure appreciate you. Thank you.
what if you lose your marbles?
I wish this had a LMAO button.....

Family Tsai that’s because you was hunting ox a deer is different 👍🏻
is the deer anatomy target expensive
I'm guessing it's around $50 -80 US?

I actually got a decent buck using this method... it works..
Ótima explicação
Nice, thank you

Can't help but trust a guy named Wade.
Great!
I was in the stand while watching this and i had one walk by
Brady Elkins yeah that's my luck
Nice video
anyone know the song its an old trance song
Great video!
1:59 when u shoot rage broadheads

He didn't say mechanical he said open-on-contact = Rage ………..love is blind fellas:)
John voit ???
Looks great but guess what? Prob 98% of them duck about a foot once the arrow flies! So aim low like at the bottom of the area below the heart.
mhg437 sounds like you need a faster bow.
or a quieter bow.
Or work on taking closer shots... 98% is just a little inflated unleaa your watching the tv hunting shows but to this day ive never had a deer string jump and duck my arrow
No string jumping is a thing of the past .
Whoa ! Holy
Muito bom
thyose vitals on that decoy arnt proportional. just a target
Find your deer's Chi.
Go watch the vital V on ranch fairy’s page
God Bless my Ear
On a large buck, the lungs do not reach to the bottom of the spine.
wait wait wait....bowhunting biology is a field?!?!
Jason Burris sign me up 😄

Some weird animations for a deer hunting channel.
I was thinking the same... not to mention the weird music too.
bikini
Good knowledge extracted from the worst editing of a video ever
Just aim for the femoral artery 😂
Great video!!
