Excellent video! The visuals were spot on. I have been meaning to write this... I watched this earlier in September and after October, when the season opened. I hunted with my bow through the end of November. My tag was full. Best season I have ever had. Was in a ground blind and every deer went down less than 30 yards away and expired in just a few minutes. My freezer is full and I have 2 beautiful mounts. Thank you!

I always visualize the vitals before I shoot. If it's quartered away and you visualize what you're shooting at you'll see right where to place your shot. I like how you made this very visual.

I had a good quartering away shot on a small spike today and I took it. I hit it a little bit higher than I was aiming but only by an inch or two. Anyways, the shot was one of the best I’ve ever made, it entered into the rib cage, went between his lungs, and caught the top of his heart. He didn’t go very far lol. I wasn’t using a bow though, it was a 30-06, so that probably made somewhat of a difference but I guarantee that would still be a clean ethical and quick kill with a bow.

Pretty good stuff! Even though I've been bow hunting 30 years and have read different articles and have seen numerous video's on shot placement, yours is certainly the most detailed.
I'll be more cautious with "picking my spot" this fall. Best wishes from Okla.

Small animations and sound effects were not necessary, but they were appreciated. Great video, helpful to me and I’m sure many others. I have stuck an arrow on a humorous(thinner part of scapula), did not get penetration or the deer. My shot was too high and forward. I will take the same aim with rifle but for archery will let them take a few more steps to get em from slightly behind and avoid those big bones.

Def one of the best and simplest views on shit placement. We watch so many other videos and we get dragged to sleep during videos waiting to learn. But this video cuts to the chase the graphics are great. Hope to see me. Great job buck guy.

No offense... It is THEORITICLLY correct; IDEALLY it will minimized flesh/hide damage. But the problem is the real world hunting will never be the same.
    :-(
I saw this video before I went to my muskox hunt.
I had a perfect position as shown in the video so I decided to take a try. The ox turned to its left side a bit just before I pull my trigger.
The bullet entered from its rear left leg, but went through its belly all the way out. Pros: Minimized flesh/hide damage, especially on the prey for the hide.
Cons: Narrow down vital aiming area.

I have heard a lot of shot placement but this one make a lot of since my dummy deer & deer stand fell apart I need too practice a lot I ended up shot about a quarter shot about the sweet spot at a doe this year she bleed a lot but never found her which is a bummer I don't like killing a animal if I can but when I shot with a crossbow this shot I know I penetrated the lungs with a 100 grain broad head called gravedigger I never found my kill even with 2 1/2 guys looking for her.

samuel olinger thats almost any deer shot with rage lol. Sure it is undeniable the entrance and exit holes of rage WHEN they work and hold together. But i do disagree with his comment about taking a ahot through the scapula with a mechanical especially with a 70lb draw shooting grim reapers. Have never failed me yet

    • @joshnano8326
