Apologies for the lack of description. I didn't really intend this to be used by other people as it was just a build for my survival world. Hopefully I'll get someone to help me script it so it's more user friendly and then make the interior less crap. Edit: The connector on the bottom is intended for loading / unloading the resources and the conveyer system does connect to four large cargo containers but it appears the conveyers were broken.
If you swap the drills for grinders you could use it to grind down large ships that are landed on the ground or take down large pre-built bases and keep the resources you get from them
To me, out of all the industrial wheeled vehicles you have featured this one is about the most detailed and realistic. I would definitely use this one in a world set for proper industry.
That is a very well designed excavator, and your presentation is very well because she expose many problem of this vehicle. Just with a little contact with the wall of rock, the conveyor took so much damage and one part of the drill head avoid to dig correctly. Thank you for this lesson
reminds me of equipment i seen when i worked at the Turów Brown Coal Mine in Poland.... just massive equipment is as impressive to me in real life as mecha would be. so sick ty for showing this as it brought a bit of nostalgia back to me lol
The way you're probably intended to access the underside connector is by driving the machine onto a pad with a connector in the floor that is connected to your base's conveyor system.
just note especially to moving that thing around in 11:45 .. as it seems to be variation to bucket wheel excavators (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucket-wheel_excavator ). those are more statically placed and swings their arm and scoop ore/rocks as they turn around the vertical axis on their base left to right (or vice verso). Once done their (semi)circle scoop, they move closer to wall and start another swing. Not usually moving whole machine by tracks while excavating.
Is a pretty cool craft, only flaw is the arms wont get clearance if you dig, less you rightclick mining. Still Impressive though :D Imagine an air vehicle with a large detachable array of cargo containers to leave on the pad would compliment this build nicely.
It's very pretty, but the many drills are too much micromanagement. It's work to unload rocks. I have a single-drill ship connected to storage and thrusters. It can tunnel with very little wiggling. Swap out those small drills for giant ones which extend the height of the vehicle, and then the rotary motor will serve its purpose.
But I've built something more practical. :D Small ship drill rover, far less technical things to go about it, and more reliable. Able to dig clean rectangular tunnels (with use of rotors (yea I'm old school)). It won't really be digging down any time soon, but the intended design for it was to dig tunnels.
talk about practical, this design is far from that but I think that's not the intention here this design more like showcasing the use of hinges and pistons to make functional arm levers just like his one of previous showcase video, but with large grids, also more realistic industrial look
@@zeihnwise4000 This was built to be cool and fun. I had gotten tired of building drill brick ships and wanted to make something more interesting to use and fun to look at.

I guess the connector on the underside is for connecting to an underground storage / refinery base for offloading and taking on Hydrogen.

Nicely designed. Not very practical but looks cool👍👍
It probably has support vehicles for the storage problem.
Would be super cool to see a large excavating ship that uses these for mining asteroids
Pretty obvious the connector on the bottom is for refueling when back at base.
Do you even play survival mode?
You store all stone only in the drills because you damaged all the conveyor pipes near the drills.

The drills should drop into cargo containers but it appears the conveyers were broken.
I feel like the back should have all been heavy armor to represent the counter weight
Coolness
I think the bottom connector is for docking Goliath to a base.
Be good if there was a lot of on-board cargo storage and a sorter to get rid if the stone.
they should make a bagger next
