It does more damage and saves on using yet another chili which is another action used that the setup can't afford to lose.

I know that killing the gigalith with a summon is an exploit, but specifically using a glitch to do it feels somehow intentional.

Save. Summon Viking Monolith, Summon Glitch (fail), Run, Open Save Menu, Quit, Load, do it until you manage to hit with Glitch
