  • What a journey it's been over the last three weeks! We kicked off our adventure in Eastern Sears Creek, making our first casts to see what the waters would yield. From there, we headed to South Lake for some laid-back pontoon trout fishing. After a relaxing day by the lake, complete with apple pie and cold beverages, we followed expert advice from Jared to venture back into the heart of nature. Our trek led us to Long Lake, nestled just above South Lake, offering more stunning views and fishing spots. Today on Stoked on Fishing, we're picking up where we left off. We'll dive deeper into understanding the lakes, figuring out what the rainbow and brook trout are biting on, and trying our best to land a few. Join us as our backcountry adventure continues

I used to love fishing South Lake, Sabrina, Pleasant Valley Reservoir, and all the lakes up to Lee Vining, and Bridgeport in the early 1990's. It didn't take long for Bishop to be come liked and the lakes to become well known. By 2000, the trash along the lakes become so bad I found the only way I could enjoy the area was to go to places that people would not venture too, Long Lake was one and well worth the hike. Mentioning it here is probably a big mistake but then I haven't been to Bishop for 18 years so I can only imagine all the lakes are littered with trash. Really sad people can't pack out what they pack in!

I like using my casting bobbers. Sometimes adding some water for tossing further, or into the wind. Can cause it to hold position with wind currents too. I also may explore various sizes of swivels to cause faster or slower droppage with different lures, or even different sizes of plastic worms.
Shea, with that environment I suspect there's always the chance to hook a lake monster, unexpectedly., right?
