It entirely depends on the wishes of the individual lawmakers, and their decisions cannot be questioned in court. Secondly, the Constitution states that the President or the Deputy President ceases to hold office IMMEDIATELY upon impeachment. This explains why Gachagua cannot function as DP at the moment, and cannot discharge any executive duty.
