Today the beginning of this masterpiece just popped into my head and I couldn't find peace until I found and fully listened to it. I think this might be my favorite, especially the piano and vocals at the beginning
in Rem's flashback the contrast with an almost happy bucolic flute, sad violin and such a tragic event made an fraking awesome combination for some reason. it was a awesome scene because of this soundtrack

I am unable to remember which part you are talking about. If it is the part where emilia talks about using her "Trump card" then I vaguely (not sure) remember hearing that track in the soundtrack disc. If you are talking about the last part, where subaru's somatch rips open, then the track was the "ED" track of Re:zero. Styx Helix by Myth & roid.

Yeah lots of tracks show up more often then you realize, mostly because there not usually played all the way through or from the beginning of the track.

It's hard to say which songs are the absolute best in an OST as good as Re:Zero's, but this is close to the top imo

Genuine Masterpiece, Kenichiro Suehiro will always be my favorite composer of all time.
I really remember this OST from Garfield backstory, but it's amazing in almost all of it's uses and just on it's own
