Fringe esp in the early seasons has a strong body horror element. Plot involves a lot of experimentation on human subjects, etc.
Be patient w it and enjoy the character and relationship building, and the plot and storytelling will catch up in a major way, here and there throughout season 1 and then in a big way in the closing eps. This is a show no one who has ever watched it all has regretted.

Walter's question about keeping the alledged psychic alive is a very valid one as that rules out a deep brain autopsy and most extreme forms of vivisection. With a mind like Walter's, it helps to fully define your search parameters.

Knowing a lot about science might actually interfere with your ability to enjoy this show. :)
Better to just kinda roll with it.

Btw once you finish fringe you should definitely consider reacting to Lost. They are complimentary shows and both tie for my favorites of all time 😬

This week’s clue can be found at around 44mins into the previous episode ‘The Same Old Story’ where a One Way sign outside the Massive Dynamic building has been labelled with the words *’Voces Video’* which is Latin for _’I hear voices’_ which was the problem affecting Roy in this episode.

Recyvcled Locations for shooting. Nowdays this is an international standard Up to the Seventies there was more use of Staged towns.

It actually translates to "I see voices', which might seem weird, but makes sense considering that originally these communications came to Roy as images.

Don't feel that you have to post reactions even when sick. It's fine to take time off to recover

"Fringe" science is stuff that is considered whackadoodle by the general scientific community. Don't expect this to be rooted in any kind of reality. That said the story itself does have internal consistency, but it takes time to paint enough of the picture to see what is happening.

SOME OF IT DOES. just think at the socalled half legal experiments on prison inmates done in between teh Fourties and Seventies

Hi Carmen. Not all environments to operate in can be pristine, people have operated on battle fields and the Bolivians/ Peruvians of ancient used to try brain surgery. Of course, I’m not sure of the success rate :)

A classic in American Science Fiction. To Asimov this term THE MAD SCIENTIST turned up as a leading figure since the Thirties in the US-stories. In Europe Scientists as figures were " better treated by the writers. Just think at the classical Mini Series QUTERMASS AND THE PIT

Synthetic telepathy actually isn't that far-fetched.

Just the sender should be the one hooked up to a fMRI machine to read the activities, as to the receiving end, depends on how the signals be used, they can be anything. And brains have surprising ability to learn and interpreting patterns regardless how they were delivered to the sensory neurons.
But to be honest, probably just treat the sciency stuff in Fringe like fantasy genre, as long as they are consistent, just roll with it.

10:03 NO METAL IN THE BLOod ? I mean there is an iron core in every blood cell. So the pioint had bee phrased somewhat to odd for me
13:10 THE GLAS DISKS. they are turning up more often in the show Must had been something of a rave for the filming industry at this time. This comes up also in the SECRET FLEET FILES in some episodes in NAVY CIS. I almost had awaited here a cross over that Gibbs turned up:)
15:03 The PIANO REQUEST: PARLEZ-MOI D´AMOUR, if that was not an early chiper ::)

Operations in a steril environment. ABSOLUTLY TRUE AND VALID !!
But this is the weakness of many movies and TV shows since early on.
Just think at the episode onf ONE STEP BEYOND. episode BRAINWAVES from the early Sixties. ( also on RUclips under that haeding ) Doing a surgical procedure without chirurgical masks seems to me extremly odd for example. -So you are right on the mark !! Besides this that episode was really good wothwhile watching

Sorry you couldn't enjoy the episode. Take care of yourself first. Walter doesn't need as much of a sterile environment because he uses sufficient LSD, which solves all problems if you just use enough of it. You have some good thoughts about the plot.
Reminds me of the line from Firefly: "Psychic? Sounds like science fiction to me." "We live in a space ship, dear."
