      J still SOLID to this day! Today they not built like this no more self made, black owned and operated. And was never 👎 selfish he put a gang of people “ON” trust me he has 30 years of information in his brain he could’ve gotten a lot of people “hemmed up” but never 👎 told “ stand up “mob style” ethics, in a good way. Some people owe there careers to this man

      For sure, look up the great migration, a lot of southern African Americans left the South for the manufacturing jobs of the North, I.e. Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, etc.

    I'm from Detroit and I was raised on the Rap-a-lot sound in the early 90's. I was in the 9th grade in 1988 when the Geto Boys first came out and Scarface, Willie Dee and Bushwick Bill were the southern version of NWA and was my favorite group. Exactly 💯 how much street depth do you need to understand that a whole damn label wants to kill you and their saying it on records influencing millions more to hate you, I'm from N.Y. and I immediately knew that he should have not been out there, just like many other New Yorkers said, you gotta know when to lay low, I mean c'mon you had little cease and Biggie riding around L.A. with no security like shit was cool, I don't care if your from my city or not foolish is just foolish.

    • @aaronbrown4366
      @aaronbrown4366 4 года назад +16

      Kenneth Bonney I would never understand Puffs excitement to be out here and to be so open about it so soon after Pac died. I’m from LA, and was a kid when that happened and even I said why did he have that man out here? It made no sense. He didn’t even try to mend the relationship, just came out here partying and carrying on. I feel if it was the other way around with Big dying in the middle of that beef, Pac would have definitely been working behind the scenes to get this right and at least calm the tension and not just be in NY partying. I think that speaks to what Prince was saying, you gotta know how the streets work. From all accounts, Big didn’t really want to be out here, but he kept getting reassurance from Puff it was cool, but Puff didn’t go through the proper channels to make sure that was true.. he was just saying it. Shit is sad man, Bigs death was so avoidable.

      Man, J Prince didnt get to the level he has by being a dummy. He absolutely right on Puff and Big having a surface level understanding of street politics. Specifically, California street politics!
      Especially, so soon after Pac was murdered. I remember being at the old Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA (this scene was in the Biggie bio-pic Notorious) for a concert that Puff and Biggie were headlining.
      I think this concert was only a month or two after Pac died. When Biggie came on stage he gave a kind of nervous laugh and said: "What up Cali?"
      Now thats a very innocent remark. Most musicians give it up to the city or state they are visiting. I took it as Biggie giving daps to California.
      But I immediately thought when Biggie said this: "Oh, oh," because even though I thought Big was giving credit or daps to California I thought that people in the crowd including some of my homeboys I was in the crowd with were going to take it the wrong way.
      Sure enough as soon as Biggie said what he did. Cats start throwing Hennessey bottles at the stage, the crowd was angry and started pushing up on the stage trying to get at Big and Puff.
      See even though it was an innocent non-violent remark Biggie made (maybe). It was took by the street cats in that Northern California audience as: "What up Cali, Pac is dead, I'm the real boss, whats happening!"
      Of course Biggie said none of that but the perception was Biggie just disrespected California, it's ON! I knew without a doubt after that night that there were people in California who were going to position themselves to do harm to Big and Puff.
      Keep in mind Sacramento is in Northern California 400 miles from Los Angeles where Suge was from but this anger for Big and Badboy and Puff was in the entire state.
      Salutes to J. Prince for being a succesful business man and a scholar of these streets nationwide!!!

OGs from the streets are really about serious business not gangster shootem up shit they actually want peace and unity amongst each other, my dad was known by 0 disrespect and calling out foul play but was known as a gangster but never shot or laid a finger on anyone. In the case of Biggie being in L.A. after Pac was shot a few months earlier. I would say it's a little bit of naivety and arrogance at the same time. Biggie in many interviews said he understood the dangers of being in L.A. but at the same time he said he felt a lot of love from the fans in L.A. So It's not like Biggie didn't understand the streets because he hustled on Brooklyn street corners, it's more of what I said earlier; naivety and arrogance got him killed, he should of waited at least a couple of years before heading back to Cali.

    Salutes to J.Prince dropping the uncut knowledge. Suge did "campaign in foolishness" to be the bully of the industry and 'got elected' by being arrested. And Puff & Big should have been more conscious of the street talk of their dangerous position.

    J was not trying to downplay Puffy and Biggie; but rather he understood the level and directions on what was going on in the streets. You have to realize, it’s not the guys or should I say celebrities that are going at you, but the low key cats that are itching to get back at them for GP.
