    I bought this board tonight. First burton. Always wanted one and for the price ($375) I got it for it seems stellar.

    Just bought this as my first board after watching your review! Went with the 162 for US12 and 105kg. Burton sizer said it would fit me and looks good to go. Little bit of heel and toe overhang (at +15/-3) but can lean board near vertical before boot touches ground. Although not called a wide (or midwide) it's 26.0cm at the waist.

      Cool. Hope it works for you. How much overhang do you have at the toe/heel?

      @@thegoodridesnow Maybe 2-3cm but mostly boot bevel so think it looks ok. I did reply with link to pics I put on a forum but not sure if youtube deleted it. Thanks for the review.

      Hit me up here with the pics. thegoodride.com/other-snowboard-gear-advice/ If it is 2cm it will be ok if you aren't carving super hard or riding too much steep terrain. If it is more like 3cm it might be a little too much overhang.

    Thanks for the review. So much good info! I saw a deal on 162 but no sure if it works for my size (height 5'11, weight 175). Should I pull the trigger?

      Thanks for the good words. What is your boot size? That is very important when sizing up a board. Also where do you ride and what is your ability level?

      @@thegoodridesnow I also found a Daily Driver 159 3D, Family Tree, maybe that's a better choice?

      Yeah the 159 would be a great fit for the Cartographer.

      I'd probably go Cartographer unless the 3D DD calls to you.

    i am thinking to buy this board but i am not sure about the size. I am almost 82kg and with shoe size 9,5 or 10 in US...but i like sometimes to trying deep carves, so i want to avoid heed or toe trag. Should i buy the wide version? but the 154 or 159??

    I know you went over the buttering, but is it possible to still get good
    Butter movement ?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      Depends on your ability level. If you are a beginner/intermediate when it comes to buttering it will be challenging. If you are used to buttering stiff camber boards it will be fine.

  • @wesleyboyd2714
    @wesleyboyd2714 Год назад

    Is this stiffer than the dancehaul and highpath? I’m 105kg but size 9 boot. The 157cm dh is too wide i think. I thought about the highpath 59w or this one in a 59. I have a 162 assassin pro but want something more playful

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      Yes it is but at a size 9 it is more important to find a board that matches your boot size more than your weight. None of the boards you are talking about match up with both your weight and boot size. @@thegoodridesnow not sure i agree. I also ride a 61 capita navigator and it has a 26cm waist which i can ride fine and it hasn’t folded on me yet. Like you said the dancehaul is softer yet the 57 has a 105kg upper end recommendation. There is no standard for flex and that makes all weight recommendations go out the window.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      What I found is the Navigator is a very easy board to turn and has 13 mm of taper which makes a wider waist feel less wide/easier to turn. I'm a size 9 US, 185-190lbs/85kg and 5'10"/178cm. I rode the 158 and 161. Both are very easy to turn. Dancehaul is not softer than the Navigator. Dancehaul is a little softer than the Cartographer in the nose/tail but about the same between the feet. If you want a softer flex overall the High Path 159 (not the 159w) should be fine and somewhat comparable to your Navigator in how it turns. I would say the Navigator will be a touch softer than the High Path 159 and a little easier to turn. The 159w Highpath will feel wider/slower to turn than your navigator. That is a lot of board for size 9US boots. At 231lbs/105kg you have to choose between what works for your weight or what is easier to turn. Since you like the Navigator 161 you might really like the 159 High Path as a more mellow more directional alternative to the Assassin Pro. It handles all conditions better than the Assasin Pro too.

      @@thegoodridesnow thanks James, the other two boards i’ve looked at are the mercury 159 and kazu 160. I know you’re not a fan of capita edge hold though so not sure how they’d match vs euro harder pistes.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      Sorry I missed this. Mercury does pretty well these days but the 159 is going to feel pretty wide. If you are ok with that then maybe worth a go but I feel the 157 with size 9's myself isn't the easiest to turn quickly. Kazu is ok but neither are hard snow specialists. Was just riding the Kazu 2024 this morning. If you want to go Capita maybe 159 BSOD could work for ya.
