- This moment is very special for me because my uncle Chris wrote this song and my mum and dad first released it in 1978. It's my pleasure to now release my own version of this iconic song. I hope you love it.

I was born 1990 yet i grew up with this song. Me, my dad, my mom and my brother would made the harmony and playing guitars together to sing, especially when there was a electricity black out in my city. It was too frequent at that time. I am from Kupang - East Nusa Tenggara. We would sang this song while staring at the stars. We were poor at that time, but that is my happiest moment in my live. Thank you for re-make this magnificant song. ❤

For non-native Indonesians, the part where he sings "kudapat bernyanyi kepadanya" was translated to "I can sing to God". The literal meaning is a pronoun (gender neutral), so it literally means "I can sing to him/her".
But old Indonesian songs (not unlike songs from other countries) liked to flirt with the idea of double meanings, where songs lyrics can also be interpreted virtually.
Anw I'm aware that Ben is a family member of the songwriter, so his translation must be closer to as intended. Just wanna add a little bit of context here.
