Singing is neither mysterious nor difficult, once you figure out how to distill it down to the simple movements that combine to create it.

Hello,is there any video of yours for larynx height?Im a tenor by the way.

I think what you are referring to is how to allow the larynx to remain low and settled, as opposed to elevating along with the pitch? I have not produced a video on this topic but I do cover it in the chapter on laryngeal anatomy in my book Complete Vocal Fitness. The gist of it is this: the best way to achieve a low larynx is simply to not elevate it in the first place (as opposed to using muscular tension to hold it down). Awareness is your best tool here, because if you are able to notice what is going on when you feel the larynx elevate, you can begin to refrain from elevating it.

@@ClaudiaFriedlander Thanks for the reply,i really appreciate it, with all respect, i've got another question thats in your zone, appogio is one of a kind or there are other types(like more or less)? and is better to apply appogio on all of your singing meaning even on light or on lower volumes?(in front of a mic) so in conclusion appogio is the base for everything that has to do with phonation? Also i've got a video of an old cultural famous singer that i admire and i'd be glad if you could tell me if he's using appogio breathing tehnique,or two phrases describing his technique.Sorry for my big questions and thanks a lot for your time.

@@georgeda90 Appoggio is a philosophy of breath management; "breath management" or "breath support" is a way to describe how a singer regulates their subglottal breath pressure. I talk about that in this video ruclips.net/video/3I-WqJFolPg/видео.html.
Here is an article I wrote for Classical Singer Magazine that goes into more specific detail about how appoggio and other approaches to breath management work. www.claudiafriedlander.com/Pressures%20of%20Breathing.PDF
Hope that answers your question (where the tenor in the recording is concerned, there is no way to assess whether he is applying, or thinks he is applying, any particular concept of breath management, but if you like his singing, it probably means he is doing a good job of regulating his subglottal breath pressure regardless)

How lucky I am to have the teacher I have now. This is exactly her approach. Unfortunately, I have a lot to unlearn because I tried to do too much too soon with my previous teacher, but slowly I am getting there. One of the valuable skills I am acquiring is that of mindful practice, focusing on the small, achievable skills. I am learning to be aware of my own singing with the help of a mirror, a sound recorder, and a software package that helps me to visualise my singing. Gaining control over muscles I never knew I had. And importantly, benefiting from astute feedback and constructive criticism. I am enjoying my singing again.

I am so glad you found a teacher who is working out so well for you! It can be frustrating to have to retrain old habits but it is really worth it when the result is that everything gets easier and more enjoyable.

will you make a video about singing on pitch?

I'm glad for this video of yours and the message you share in it. I agree with you that the right steps taken to giant accomplishments - the fastest path to mastery - are enjoyable. I'm just scared I could lose the little steps - like finish the chocolate chip cookies?
I read about 'the sensations of singing' in Lilli Lehman's book, How to Sing. I must admit, after a few conscious breath exercises, I might have sung 'back' instead of 'forward', and it felt and sounded nice on good breath - bravo for teaching great things on breath support.
I might have missed any videos of yours on sensations of singing, I'll be appreciative if you directed me to it.
And by the way, I sent you a connection via LinkedIn, I would very much like for you to respond. Thanks.

how long should I only practice realising the tongue tension... plus it would be great if you do a video about singing clearly in the matter of words after a bit of tongue release 🌸❤
