Geez Sunday comes around so quick these days, time for another episode and it times to show of South Australia Donation Camps.. which are wicked, we wish there we in more abundance in other states. But it quickly gets out of hands with an absolute rookie stuff up by me trying to level out the van ☹️
Loved the camp sites. If I was running out of money. I wouldn’t go to winery and eat out
We have the BOS legs and jockey, great bit of kit. Get yourself the extensions from BOS for the legs and Jockey. We use them all the time. We have 2 for the jockey, and 3 for the legs. That covers us for most situations. You can also do away with the Jack for the van (saving weight) you can use the boss legs to lift the van to change a flat, have also done this recently and they work a treat. Just don’t lift a side for long periods as you can bend stuff on the chassis, no prob levelling front to back as the weight is still mostly on the wheels. just not side to side. Thx for the video
100% mate, they are wicked.. just wanted to see what the limits of what these things can do... still amazes me over just normal legs🤙 thanks for the comment and support mate ✌️
I love your honesty…
As has been mentioned, run an additional leg extension. This increases range of movement but more importantly improves stability as less of the “thin” leg section protrudes. The other benefit is you can mount the BOS leg up high using the lowest rib and leave it on your van permanently. BOS provide a locking bolt to replace the existing clamp handle for security. It will still clear a stone stomper. Also if parked on uphill slopes you only fit one extension and you can drop the drawbar right down close to the ground.
Just check with your van manufacturer if they are happy to lift / level your van with BOS legs… many people have damaged floors and the corner sealing using these. Our van is one of the high end off-road van manufacturers and they strongly advise against using them for leveling.
By the way… if your yellow jerrycans are diesel… just check the legislation in relation to storage of fuel in impactable areas.
Love your videos.
Thanks mate, yea we wanted to see what these legs can and can’t do, let’s say we found the limits 😂 since this video we have been leveling every time with the legs, works perfectly 🫶
Just a thought but I wouldn’t try and level it using the boss unless it’s under the main chassis beam ! From your pics it’s doesn’t look like it ! think about the weight in between the lifting points it does have a tendency to bend your you side walls out of shape with the flex there perfectly fine to support the front with no jockey wheel cheers 😊
Yea I know what you are saying, after this video we have done it quite a few time now we no problems whatsoever ever.. As we have had to go without a jockey wheel for 3 weeks, so it can be done.. once you get it down pat 🤙😊🍻
Yay...I lived in the cottage at the entrance to that oval/ camp. Beautiful Greenock. My sis n bro used to own the micro brewery across the road, until They sold up to travel around Oz too ( 8 yrs ago)
oh really, we love Grennook.. Been there so many times.. Oh thats cool, might bump into them out on the road maybe 😉
Love ya honesty bro regarding the jockey stand...🤣🤣👍👍🍺
😂 even though it made me look like a total pork chop, transparent in these situation is best I think 🍻🤙
@@LostTribeAdventures For sure... And maybe people will watch and learn and not make the same mistake... That's why I put out an episode on my YT channel about me being a drongo and accidently put petrol in my 79 series diesel tank, and then I explained what to do if you do... Hopefully someone learns from my mistake... Let me know when it's a good time to reach out to you guys and continue on from our last conversation..👍
My partner travel a in the early years,he would work on farms, station, pubs, from kitchen duty’s to pull beer ,doing rubbish clean up,building site,he say when you drive into a town, look for a town house that being built,a labour job, would always be a hit for a job.my partner call his travels,a working holiday of Australian.
I understand the people at BOS, say you can lift the van with those legs, but you might want to contact the van/chassis manufacturer to see if those points on the van are designated lifting points. That's why they call them stabiliser legs.
It's no skin off BOS to say you can as it won't come back to them if you bend that part of the chassis
totally understand, we were pushing the limit on this stay but we have now done multiple stays with using the bos legs as levellers, works so well and really once you get it down pat, its not really under any stress as the weight is still taken up by the wheel on the ground. But like I mention ill be keeping people posted in a few months as its a massive saving of weight over the airbags 🍻🤙
Such a picturesque road. I had the privilege of laying the asphalt down a few years ago.
oh no way, yea the camera doesn't do it justice.. Feels like a movie set or something really.. Gorgeous spot 🤙🍻
Thanks for a great video, hoping to get to the Barossa this year so those camp sites are now on the list. What did you have on the awning that held your washing please?
Thankyou, oh you will love it, such a great little spot. 🤣 it’s only a piece oh line off a crab pot. It has quick release clips so it actually works a charm 😉👌
we have the bos stabiliser legs as well and love them we only have a hybrid van and always try to find level ground but not always possible but if ground is to unlevel ,it pays to unhook and for extra height we just carry some wood off cuts nice vid guys
thanks legends, yea just wanted to find the limits of the legs.. I think we found it😂 we have done it many times since we shot this video no, I think we have it all down pat now.. live and learn. Thanks for the support and commenting 🤙
My favourite donation site is Cockatoo Lake near Naracoorte. Lots of mozzies but stunning sunsets over a lake. We've been there when the lake is both full and dry. Both are great
OOOO really cockatoo lake you say.. might have to note that one down for next time
@LostTribeAdventures definitely a beautiful spot. A small 4x4 playground around the back when it's dry too
I grew up in Naracoorte and agree with Cockatoo Lake… we also used to camp and water ski at Lake Bringalbert, but a really great destination close to Naracoorte is Robe
Hay it’s not a rookie mistake I would call it a everybody mistake but it’s all behind you. Now on to bigger and better things another great episode keep up the great work guys ❤
😉 100% mate, its just one of those learning experiences that we can share with everyone so we are not the only ones learning. thanks for the support 🍻🤙
Hey mate...Live and learn. Watching you jack up the legs and lifting the car at the same time was always going to make it difficult to unhitch from the DO35. A lot of stored energy in that coupling in that position and would have let go with a bang. Retract the legs, unlock the coupling, take the weight with the jockey and then level up again.
oh 100%, and that is what the whole experience was.. to see the limits of what these legs can or can't do really.. since filming this episode we have levelled the van a hand full of time only with the legs..Works awesome really. thanks again for the comment and support 🫡🍻
Bin chicken!!🍗 heck yeah!!😂😂😂
😉 yea buddy, bin chicken for the win baby 🍗
Another great ep, guys. Looking forward to more trials of the boss stabilisers; they look handy. Bent the leg on our power jack recently-stopped at overnighter, too stuffed to disconnect, jacked up the van + cruiser = bent leg (just enough to make it a hassle). Fortunately, the caravan manufacturer sent me a new one for free!
thanks mate, yea just testing the limits of what they can and can't do. since filming this EP, we have levelled the van using the legs every time now.. Never had to get the ramps out. SO totally worth the extra 💰
We stopped in at the Greenock donation camp on the way home from the river a couple of months ago and agree it’s a bloody ripper of a camp. Had to get creative trying to get the van semi level though!😂😂
Yea its like our 5 time back 😂 as we dont like going into Adelaide unless we have to. Yea she is a bit like that isn't it.. thanks again for the support guys, hope all is well 🍻🤙
The grommets deserve to dance, I think you need a nice campfire and have the whole family do a dance around it ( like some Indian tribes did )
Film it and we can all have a laugh, particularly at Dad, the drongo caravan man.
Ha ha ha
🤣🤣🤣🤣☺️ drongo caravan man love it. Cheers mate for the support 🍻
It’s a great spot! Hard to level if you are up on that slope plus Solar might be an issue. We camped by the oval last time. It was gold!
yea 100% wicked spot.. yea only a few key spot that you can get the solar for most of the daybed other then that its one of our favourites ✌️😊
I stayed in Greenock. It was fabulous although it took us few laps to find it.
yea the entrance is pretty hidden isn't it, but what a spot.. can't get much better spot right in the middle of Barossa 🍷😊
Thanks for the free camp tips in SA.. will add to our list. Are most dog friendly? 🐕 keep up the great vids in 2024..🎉
100% dog friendly for both donation camps, Greenock was great for the pups, massive oval for them to burn built up energy. Quite a few there when we stayed.😊
@LostTribeAdventures thanks, we will look forward to checking out these places on our next SA trip 😀
Nuri topia 😂😂😂😂 live in the Barossa for a decade. Nice spot
oh what a back yard.. can't get enough of this place.. we find ourselves always looking at property whenever we are here 😂
I know where you're going, a couple of camps away from us. Might pop by & say hi later
Mate. thanks for popping over to say hi.. and honey you didn't have to do anything for us, we are more than happy that you watched the Episode. thanks again legend ✌️
@LostTribeAdventures my pleasure, it's nice to pay forward.
I will be checking out more of your travels & pop in regularly to see what's happening.
Enjoying what I've seen so far.
Love your drone driving!!
Thankyou, I can say I def enjoy doing it 👌🍻
Amazing video, thanks so much 🙏
Thanks fella, glad you enjoyed it 🫵👌🍻
If you guys enjoyed the Barossa so much, then come down to Mc Laren Vale, beautiful wines
ooo yea, its on the list mate🍻
@@LostTribeAdventures and try some metwhurst
Most places in the Barossa have a winery just down the road?
best thing about the Barossa isn't it🤙 But Greenock is just an awesome little stay
How’s that drone footage! That is next level!!!!❤❤
I live to drone my man 🤙🍻
awesome episode guys, travel safe👍
thanks legend🍻🤙
Love you vids guys, awesome content and so real! Question for you what length Bos stabilizer legs do you have on the van?
Thanks Scott, yea keeping it real is the only way. I'm pretty sure we have the 600mm legs and the BOS370 3 rib Jockey Leg
The first upgrade we did to the off road van was the Bos jockey leg, just great to see someone actually show a test of the legs being used to level the van, now I think we I will have to upgrade mine
Hey everyone makes mistakes
Great camp sites and lovely to see the kids
Safe travelling
thanks old fella
Hi guys, enjoy your vids. What model drone do you have?
thanks mate, really appreciate the kind words. We have a few different one. The main one is the new dji mini 4 pro.. good little unit, easy to use and the camera is really good on it. Doesnt like high wind flying but its expected fro a little drone 🤙
Cheers for the vid 💯. What’s your thoughts on a grey water tank for SA?Going to SA this year and a van in the convoy that doesn’t have one. Most of WA you can get away with out one 👍
thank you, We there is only a hand full of spots where you have to catch it really. Greenock is one and I think Mount Gambier show ground was another of the top of my head. So yea I really dont think you would need it. thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🍻
Beautiful part of SA been there a few times , great episode nice work with the jockey wheel 😂
oh yea, love the Barossa, feel so chilled and relaxed🍻🤙
Me n the wife went to a wine tasting at 10:30 am one time when we were there at 4 pm we were both in bed asleep 😂
Blackjack electric jack, no one got hurt,
yea wasn't keen on the black jack, BOS has a higher safe working limit and its mechanical, no power needed. except the drill 😂
Had a Bos370 for a couple of years, went to blackjack, no looking back, easier.
Arron take the Ram shopping Bhaahaa
The Ram, where the keys 🤟 yea buddy
Lovely Ep and great spots Guys and funny
thanks legend, yea we love this part of Aus, so many good spot and the people are so friendly 🍻🤙
Love you drone shots. What drone do you use??
Thanks Legend, we use a couple of different drones.. DJI Mini 4 pro, DJI Avata and i have a full FPV one but dont use it much.. not a huge fan of the MINI 4 pro, it has to much safety stuff on it..
@@LostTribeAdventures agh the Avata explained the cool FPV style shots you get. Very cool 👌👌
610mm scissor jack under chassis rail is easier to level
yea, just was seeing what and what we can't do with the bus legs only.. safe to say we found the limits 😂
Great episode,
Thanks mum😊
Want something for the kids to do when around pine trees ? Get-em to look for pine-nuts hahaha not those ones ! The ones that you’ll fined from/in the pine cones , little black/brown bullet size hard nuts 🥜 give the kids a hammer 🔨 go crack the nuts ( gently lol) and instantly hours of fun with food foraging 😁😁 , Hunters and gathers .. Always chock ya wheels ,handbrake on or you could loooooose a finger or 2 when taking off the Van with a load on that aframe /towbar built up inertia Be Very cautious not much room between that hitch and the back of ya Car . You guys should do an in-depth special episode on the unseen dangers of caravanning 👍 What could & can go wrong 😑,
😲 YASSS, Wes and Georgi will swing hammers for hours 😂 100% mate, alway choke, hand brake every time. Can't be too careful, just trying to find the limits of the boss legs.. I think I found it 😑 thanks again for watching and supporting mate
Hi guy's. Aaron, who let the dog's out is tame in comparison to "Baby shark" Be thankful. Steph, good to see Aaron is still your b#tch, keep it up. Do you want me to call Andrew and get him to send money? Love you guy's.
I hate when people fill up the dump points with grey water then it overflows they fill up fast and theres nowhere to dump ya poo when you go there 💩
Unfortunately that’s the rules there mate, they actually empty the dump point regularly 🤷♂️ I guess that’s where the donate coin is going😐
@@LostTribeAdventures but at other places like dump points at servos you get 3 vans empty 90litres each off waste water the thing is over flowing bloody inconsiderate and stuffs every one else up and we got no where to dump the poo except out in the bush , that's where the waste water should atchly be under a tree somewhere , bugger the city government greenies driving around in EVs thinking their saving the planet making up these stupid rules 🙄
Make sure you always carry cash 💵 👍
yes we always do to support the donation camps.. 🍻🤙
Rookie error. Remove the van from the car first
I saw an old vid of yous when you caught up with Derek and Sue from Justvanning it when they were on there way up the Cape. Noice!
Noice Vid....
thanks legend🍻🤙

Stop pointing 👉 at your wife.
Say her name when you want your wife attention.
I know where your coming from but its a new way of filming, its called First person view, its supposed to keep the person more captivated and feel like they are actually there. but anyway thanks for watching
Greenock has one of the best pubs in SA too!
Dang straight is does, been there 2 years ago.. it was killa 🍻✌️
What's the GPS tracker you're using to get the bin chicken as your current location? Looks awesome!
😂 still currently kicking around SA for little bit yet. Limestone and the FLur FLur and if time hit Eyre to do the camps we missed before heading to the NT
@@LostTribeAdventures Sorry, I meant what's the application all you Caravan-Tubers use to get the rig and caravan as the icon for your current location on the map 😅 look forward to the future videos regardless, only came across you guys from the factory build video, got some binge watching to do!
It is Nuri-oot-pa ... oot as in toot
thanks mate, we were lost with this one, in my head it just sounds like something out of a Shek movie 😂
