I don't understand people who say Abba was just a pop band, who made trivial music. This performance, by this supremely talented lady shows that Abba were much more than that. They wrote some magical music, with superb melodies & incisive lyrics. They are one of the great musical partnerships in music.

I tool lessons for more than 7 years when I was yong at the conservatory, then I stopped for 6 years, but When I get back to playing and practice I was happy that I did not lose that much, and now I continue playing..you know it's only fear inside us...that's it...go a head

Italy is a country I adore ! Worked in Rome in 1980 and went to school at night for the language with my wife , I enjoyed every moment of my 6 moth tenure in Rome !
Sitting there playing like that, you remind me of my piano teacher when I was 11 years old. She taught me on the second floor of a very old mansion in the residential district of our city; and even though 56 years have passed since then, I can still remember walking up the brick path to the house, which in a few of my memories, was covered with autumn leaves, or sometimes with snow. As I entered up the front staircase to the porch, then through the large double doors & into the expansive foyer, then up the long curved staircase to the second floor, I became aware of the faint sounds of the practicing students, which grew louder as I climbed the staircase. As I reached the top, and inside each room I would then pass, I could clearly hear the other instructors & their students . . . some practicing on an instrument and some diligently exercising their vocals, as they went up & down the scales. My lessons there with my teacher would eventually lead to progressively more difficult arrangements & recitals, but I was too young to realize at the time how fortunate I was, and that I was actually being immersed into culture & art, if only for the two years I kept at it. Looking back, it was almost like walking into the opening scenes of the show "Fame" every week.

What makes this song great is the brilliant long melody lines, nice chord progressions, the main theme consists of slow triplets, the fact that the verse lines fit exactly between the main theme, and simplicity. Most modern pop music is way too simple, sometimes I try to analyse some flat pop songs with my children in the hope they also try to find what makes songs great. It's often a combination of interesting (long) melody lines, some not-too-standard-chord progressions, some rythmic patterns / accents, a breaks and buildups, catchy lyrics, a touch of musical virtuosity, and rich sound quality. I think / hope song writing art (like abba and the beatles did) will be appreciated more in future, (much like Bach's art was recognised later).

Piano is the king because there is so much more depth of music available on the keyboard, as opposed the guitar, which makes it even more remarkable when a talented artist like Gabriella comes along, and is able to release incredible acoustical harmony from her guitar. Ulrika & Gabriella should consider recording a duet together.
