  • The Sudan crisis has displaced more than 9️⃣ million people, including nearly 5️⃣ million children. 44.7% of Sudanese refugees have settled in Chad, 88% of whom are women, girls and children.
They all arrive sick, hungry and vulnerable after witnessing horrors in their homeland.
From a humanitarian visit to Chad, Unni Krishnan, Plan International Global Humanitarian Director, tells us about the invisible needs of Sudanese refugees in Chad, especially the needs of girls and children. He tells us about the refugee camp of Ourang, where Plan International has set up a temporary learning space for children to receive literacy initiation, and he takes us to the child-friendly space where children find back smiles as they can play and chat in a safe environment.
