When I introduce people to disc golf, this is the video I pull up on my 65" Samsung. The course looks just beautiful in HD and the filming/commentary is great.
Tester putt with death behind, a 4 digit separator... Good stuff man, quality commentary and world class insight. Not to mention beautiful course, top players and great golf. Well done!
WOW! Terrific coverage - thank you so much guys! What a great and tough course, with extraordinary play. Well done.Only one thing was less than perfect: the score page needs to display the following columns of information: Score for round (under or over). Score for hole (under or over), Total for Competition (Under or Over), and Player Movement during hole (up arrow or down arrow). Without that information, the scoring screen is weak, and doesn't help us much.
Great coverage! " That's a death putt ", Every time I would release the disc from my hand on those courses would be death. It's incredible they can card the scores they do. And was great to see Ken " The Champ " Climo do so well, dude still has mad skills. Can't wait for Part 2
great footage spintv! I'm just wondering about the other rounds, no filming cause it was raining or what? this i a tournament that would have brought in tons of views on the videos
To be truthful, while some other disc golf production companies are dedicated to tournament coverage, that is only a part of our model. This year we bring you final rounds from big events, and spend the time creating other content during the opening rounds so as to give you a unique perspective that you won't find anywhere else. The weather won't stop us though, from bringing you those dramatic finishes and awesome comebacks!
super high quality... great footage. super impressed already in the first 1 min. i subscribe and enjoy lots of other disc golf channels. this is one of the best out there. keep this channel going.
I think the sand traps being OB is kinda stupid. play it from the sand. The sand takes away some of your footing and is more difficult to shoot. Having to shoot from the sand is a penalty in itself and I think more fun instead of just taking a drop.
Joseph Garvey Discs must be weighed and stamped as legal for the tournament before the first round. Nobody would risk getting caught with an overweight disc...and it would be obvious in the way it reacted so not really possible to cheat that way. The Japan Open has always had a weight maximum on discs.
It's more tradition now, as before the tournament was in a park in a large metro area (I believe Tokyo but I could be wrong). The 150-class restriction actually used to be 152g, and since has been upped to 159.9.
+cole christensen Probably when they get out of a country that has really strict laws against that. They are pros in an international tournament, not your local bros.
"the chastity belt," LMAO! I think as disc golf gets more media attention i'm sure we are going to rename the belt to a more family friendly version. Mmmm, maybe not?
This would have been so much more enjoyable if it was held at a Disc Golf Course, not a ball golf course with sand traps. No more artificial out-of-bounds sand traps, please. Unless you like chain a pitt bull in the middle... or such.

Disc golf is one of the most addicting IRL games I've ever played. If you've never played, find you nearest course and get out there!
life is one of hell or glory games.you make choice
Never heard of this game till I came to California 4 years ago.

Fantastic coverage and the commentary is state of the art. I only wish there were more rounds from the tournament.
The 152 gram rule is insane. Nobody knows why it was really ever a rule
Great video. Can't wait for part 2. Great quality, commentary, graphics etc.
Ahhh. Perfect. Thank you spin tv, you made my night once again.
Love the commentary and the quality. Only thing that could make it better is having another angle of the shots.
Thanks for the coverage! I've been patiently waiting for this!
Just amazing! Waiting part 2!
Superb coverage. Thanks!
Sweet coverage! Bring me more NOW!
Is the Japan Open still a thing, or did they cancel it?
It's coming back in 2021

MORE! I WANT MORE!! Really good footage! keep up the good work!
this is great. thanks guys!
Is the approach or putt the more important part of the game?
Putting is most important.
watch hole 6 at 14:15 ... when lizotte and mcbeth are putting and listen to the com. =)
Well done, well commentated
Thank you for the video!
First recorded shot, Ricky Wysoki, 18th hole... Dude almost got his legs broken.
Badassness, Spin TV, 2014
This photage is still so important. This is cool. Thwnks Spin TV and Japan.
great footage spintv! I'm just wondering about the other rounds, no filming cause it was raining or what? this i a tournament that would have brought in tons of views on the videos

When's part 2 gonna be on here?
Why the mandatory light discs??
We're the first round?
what disc does Nikko throw on hole 3? That thing is so straight!! putter??
Probably a wizard
I cant find part 2?
super high quality... great footage. super impressed already in the first 1 min. i subscribe and enjoy lots of other disc golf channels. this is one of the best out there. keep this channel going.
PS. come to south dakota :)
I dream of being able to crush drives down a course like this. Especially holes 1,2,6 and 9. My god.
Is Nikko wearing the Bear Grylls pants?
More!!
One day I'll be playing I'm these tournaments:)
What's the deal on the disc's? why did they swap out?
I think the sand traps being OB is kinda stupid. play it from the sand. The sand takes away some of your footing and is more difficult to shoot. Having to shoot from the sand is a penalty in itself and I think more fun instead of just taking a drop.
How is 900ft hole a par 4
Are they all throwing 150 class disc?
My question is why?
Ha thats a good troll answer. What's the real reason.
Joseph Garvey Discs must be weighed and stamped as legal for the tournament before the first round. Nobody would risk getting caught with an overweight disc...and it would be obvious in the way it reacted so not really possible to cheat that way. ***** Not exactly. See my reply above. It was because they were in a urban park before moving it to this location.
Japan put in safety regulations on disc golf discs that sets the max weight at no more than 152g. For the Japan Open though they allow up to 159.9g.
Why do they have to use lighter disc in Japan?
U not get an answer?
I believe if it's over a certain weight, it's classified as a weapon. I read that somewhere and am unsure of the source so I may be wrong.
just watched the thing on my new 48 inch tv via wireless and IT WAS AWESOME!
7:15 - foot fault?
Did they weight ricky's discs? lol
Earth never moved on 8 second drives.
In any direction!
Silly flat earth people. Know it all!
How many times has Simon got into the finals and screwed it up.
Bummer.
So much fun to watch him play.
the course seems pretty gimmicky... every hole on a hilside of 1 feet away from OB. Why? seems overly punishing.
They have to use 150 to 159 in japan because of the population and danger to people from what I remember.
It's more tradition now, as before the tournament was in a park in a large metro area (I believe Tokyo but I could be wrong). The 150-class restriction actually used to be 152g, and since has been upped to 159.9.
The country has a law on the max weight of disc golf discs. It is actually set at no more than 152g, but the Japan Open lets them go up to 159.9g.
mrDROCK That is insanely retarded.
When do they stop for a doobie break?
+cole christensen Probably when they get out of a country that has really strict laws against that. They are pros in an international tournament, not your local bros.
Well that's stupid
cole christensen
Well, write your local Japanese...congressman? Parliament member? Emperor? Ok, maybe not the last one, but one of those.
Maybe I will
+cole christensen Doobies Are prohibited during any PDGA tournament or event.
Of course Niko and his ridiculous pants are down there giving people the business on their putt positions.
"the chastity belt," LMAO! I think as disc golf gets more media attention i'm sure we are going to rename the belt to a more family friendly version. Mmmm, maybe not?
SimpleHumman bogey band? lol
