I was never able to see her perform live, however living in Las Vegas did meet her at Mahoney's Drum Shop in Las Vegas in the middle 90's. She was visiting with Chris Mahoney's father who played drums often on her recordings and live shows. Very nice and gracious lady! Wish we had more of her type music in today's world, sad but true, GOOD memories is all that folks of my age have left to enjoy.
I was in high school when Sue Thompson recorded this song and I loved so much that I used to sing it at our lunch break for the other girls. And yes, I did a wonderful imitation of her that kids used to call me Sue Thompson. A great compliment for me. 🎵🎼♥️🌷

Sa-a-a-d movies always make me cry He said he had to work so I went to the show alone They turned down the lights and turned the projector on And just as the news of the world started to begin I saw my darlin' and my best friend walk in Though I was sittin' there they didn't see And so they sat right down in front of me When he kissed her lips I almost died And in the middle of the color cartoon I started to cry. Oh-oh-oh sa-a-a-d movies always make me cry Oh-oh-oh sa-a-a-d movies always make me cry And so I got up and slowly walked on home And mama saw the tears and said â??what's wrong?â?? And so to keep from telling her a lie I just said â??sa-a-a-d movies make me cryâ?? Oh-oh-oh sa-a-a-d movies always make me cry Oh-oh-oh sa-a-a-d movies always make me cry Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Sa-a-a-d movies make me cry-why-why
She still sounds good and great, angelic voice. Please convey my admiration to the entire group of sad movies, reggae cover. All together gave the best ever performance I came across. Crooner - good voice, on the piano - superb, lead guitarist - amazing, bass played in suspense to perfection, not to forget drummer - good beats, appearance of a Hollywood actor. All in all, thumbs up.
