I understand a lot of irish have sympathy with the Palestinian people and see parallels between theyre recent history and your own, but any one of you proposing a two state solution are fundamentally against most palestinians/hamas. They want Israel (the jews homeland) dissolved, and replaced with a Palestinian state with a partial theocracy centered around Islam and sharia law. That would just condemn the jews to live as second rate citizens and to live as minorities forever. Israel is not northern Ireland and the jews are not ulster scots. Jews do not identify with brits the same way ulster scots do. Northern Ireland didn't exist for 3000+ years prior. Showing solidarity for Palestine when you're surrounded by countries who give unconditional support for Israel actually goes a long way, no matter how small the country is. Ireland is still part of the EU, and their voice rings loud in the EU parliament as one of the only EU countries that was not only never a colonizer, but one that broke free from colonial rule and knows the struggle of the Palestinians.
