@@fergalbannon4614 What a terrible take Fergal. Surely the point of these conversations is to have representation from all political parties and ideologies. Democracy needs to constantly adapt and change with the people hearing new perspectives and viewpoints. Do something...
First stop all weapons transport through Irish national waters, and airspace and prosecute the civil airlines and transport companies that moved weapons undeclared.
Remember we are supposed to be an independent democratic Republic, not a lackey of british or usa imperialism.
We were on Thier genicide list too! we should remember who we are, and who helped us in our times of need. And to the people who faught for irish freedom for nany generations, all my thanks and respect!
    Same to the palestinian resistance.
who can anyone say they wouldn't resist if under the same circumstances, is understandable that even the most peacefull people can and do end up fighting for freedom, better that than to accept permanent injustice for all your people
    Long live IRELAND and

@peacainternational "Do something..." I'd bet NONE would go through Irish waters or air, just look at maps. Where's the "permanent injustice" ? A Palestine State, the 2-state solution, was offered on the formation of Israel and many times since, always refused. If you want an analogy, Ireland accepted less than it wanted in 1921. 27 years later, almost to the day, Palestinians opted not to. The outcomes could easily have been reversed.

I understand a lot of irish have sympathy with the Palestinian people and see parallels between theyre recent history and your own, but any one of you proposing a two state solution are fundamentally against most palestinians/hamas. They want Israel (the jews homeland) dissolved, and replaced with a Palestinian state with a partial theocracy centered around Islam and sharia law. That would just condemn the jews to live as second rate citizens and to live as minorities forever. Israel is not northern Ireland and the jews are not ulster scots. Jews do not identify with brits the same way ulster scots do. Northern Ireland didn't exist for 3000+ years prior. Ireland is not a remnant of a arab-muslim empire like palestine that conquered and colonized the land in the 7th century. I could go on, but I really shouldn't need. They have made it clear, a two state solution is not the Palestinians end goal. Even more so on Oct 7th when hamas killed 1200+ innocent people in a day. For the record the total civilian death toll for the 30 years of the troubles was 1800. That was a war but the butchering of jews at a concert on oct 7th is not even an act of war? On top of that hamas has been constantly bombing them for years now. Wake up and realize you are being lied to.

Palestine issue ? Who cares ? Ireland is absolutely impotent in terms of what is happening in the Middle East but its the astoundingly poor attitudes to national sovereignty, immigration, housing that is of interest in a general election. Showing solidarity for Palestine when you're surrounded by countries who give unconditional support for Israel actually goes a long way, no matter how small the country is. Ireland is still part of the EU, and their voice rings loud in the EU parliament as one of the only EU countries that was not only never a colonizer, but one that broke free from colonial rule and knows the struggle of the Palestinians.
