Oh ho! after seeing a lot of content from you, I notice when you're genuinely enthusiast about a device! well I've been owning an elite from months now and if not as technical has my most S tiers Daps, it has a unique and refined tuning that sing with good alim. I would not sell it, hype is more than this, it would sadden me to lost that creation. Thanks Ibasso and thanks monk for your channel. Bests.
I have bought it semi blind because I needed some stationary dac for PC but decided to buy this dongle instead (lol) and I understand what reviewers are saying. Sound is perfectly clear, clean no harshness or nothing emphasized, its holographic and you can easily detect instruments in space and it has that kind of hard to describe >>>flow
Thanks for the detailed review from your point of view as audio enthusiast. I got everything I need to know about iBasso DC Elite compared to others. I think the most important part of this review, whether or not you realized it or not, is the comparison between DC Elite and AK Kann Max. Here's what I caught: - iBasso DC Elite is for audio enthusiasts who listen to music for enjoyment. It must have a level of forgiving towards bad source so listeners can enjoy the music as intended and preferred. - AK Kann Maxx (like it's predecessor AK Kann, AK320 and AK120) is a tool for musicians and sound technicians (engineers and recording pros). It reveals everything as it is recorded, ripped and converted. Hence, they can make the necessary adjustment to solve those ticks. This is also why a lot of audio enthusiasts think AK Kann Max is too 'honest'. I'm at the age of enjoying music rather than criticizing music, so I understand the why and how it works, but I do think everything has its place in this world.
What an awesome Review. Couple of Take aways. static on the knob , wasn’t sure if I had to return my unit. Also the CB19 cable is short and Limp is true. I won’t mention this again either. Unboxed mine yesterday and my first impressions described how musical and how the stage opens up with the DC Elite on Head-Fi discovery thread. So great you came to the same conclusion. I’m Just enjoying the DC Elite with all my gear now like you are. I think this will become a community favourite. Cheers.
The static on the vol wheel doesn't bother me but I can see being caught unaware and thinking you got a defective one. Congrats on awesome dongle camp!
Great review as always. As convinced as you had me on getting the xm5, this one makes me rethink my decision. How do you find them in comparison sonically?
I still love that dap and for it bieng colored the way it is that's what makes it specail. Remember it's a beast for power as well. No regrets on my XM5 purchase. I think I will sell a few off that I don't use.
Am so glad that Dsnuts triggered you to get into this man. Another awesome review. Will look into this after I end up getting Cantor in a month or two (planning my finances). Still reckon Cantor is worth gold standard under 1000$, right? Btw how does Elite synergise with Cantor?
I always thought the Onix wouldn't stand the test of time. The xd05 pro though seems to be standing strong. I'd like to know how the dcelite compares to it with the rohm card, not just the ess one. Thanks for the great review.
The DC Elite is better than most of my DAP'S, iBasso DX180, Shanling M5Ultra, Hiby R6iii... and it's priced accordingly. Worth the crazy amount they ask and a huge upgrade from the DC07 PRO
@michaelsegel8758 Torture tested I have had the DCE for weeks now used it daily and it's seen more use than .... only issues I have had is with some cable whose "Pentaconn" plugs are just a smidge too small and ypu loose connection. But that's a cable issue.
The priority for DCE is Power 5v/2A , with most smartphones marketing as USB type c 3.2 gen cant provide that through the USB C Port, only sony smartphones can do that.
DC Elite sounds so clean and enjoyable. Good review TDM.
Thank you for wonderful review❗️🔆… to complete the circle would love a review of Mojo 2🙋♂️
Glad I won’t bleed out with the case! GOAT reviewer

Oh sweet thanks for sharing love hearing useage like this
Vs the Mojo2?

Well said on my best set of IEM's the Omega two two are simply magical on the Kann , everything else on the DC Elite
Great review and I agree 100%

Using this dongle with Monk's Favoriten IEM's - the DUNU SA6 Mk2 😂😅.
Awesome shit I aay - you dont need other hifi-equip with this combo! 🤘

@@tonedeafmonk Much obliged!
Hi, if I ready have the N3 Ultra, do you recommend to still get the DC Elite?.. the right source hehe

Oh those two are fantastic, big booty bass!

I heard the RHOM card is not that great of a experience on the XD05 nor the AKM and of course still waiting for the R2R
How does it compare to the R8ii?
Yeah I would love to know it as well.
How does it compare to D16?
Will this improve R4 DAP?
It will sure sound a heck of alot better IMO than the R4.
This comapred to dc07, how close is it?
Not close I did a comparison in the vid
Hi which one would recommend between dc-elite and dc07 pro if dc-elite is 100 then how much will you score dc07?
The DC Elite is better than most of my DAP'S, iBasso DX180, Shanling M5Ultra, Hiby R6iii... and it's priced accordingly. Worth the crazy amount they ask and a huge upgrade from the DC07 PRO
@tonedeafmonk how much would you score dc07 pro compared to elite?
With the Onix... did you try a different cable?
I started to have issues but they went away when I switched cables.
See the thread on head-fi.
Yeah sometimes that works but it's spotty
@@tonedeafmonk For me, firmware update + USB cable swap solved the issue completely.
@@tonedeafmonk
Hmmm. How hard have you been on the USB and other ports?
Too expensive

This vs go Bar Kensei ?
The priority for DCE is Power 5v/2A , with most smartphones marketing as USB type c 3.2 gen cant provide that through the USB C Port, only sony smartphones can do that.
Do you tried it ?
I had no issues on any pairing / USB output
@@tonedeafmonk do you tried it with a smartphone ? Or it sounds better with external battery like the dc07 pro ?
TDM can you compare it to Mojo2
I dont have that one sorry.
Vs ka17 ?
Never tried sorry
At this price point it will be compared with the Mojo 1 a lot.
the Onix Alpha doesn't compare to it maybe cause costs less than a third of the Elite, so... 😁
Is this not a very analog organic dongle
