Even the thought of this song brings floods of tears.. It is as if ye have tapped into the voice of nature and once the song sets flight upon the airwaves it becomes an unstoppable murmuration of miraculous healing. Truthfully pure art.
It’s becoming more prayer like. The one with the Windermere back drop is a classic .This stripped down version is bringing a different feel to the chant. I’d like listen to an interpretation of this in 500 years from now.
I have the book, can I correct your lyrics?.. it is not "stumble through my hair sands eroding" it is sung "through machair sands eroding" but bless you for posting these poignant & beautiful words.
This is stunningly beautiful. Humbly, I offer a small change to the lyrics: instead of "as you stumble" maybe "if you stumble". Likewise "if the hour grows bleaker" and "if all hope is gone." As a blessing, it seems more hopeful and gives direction for what to do in times of sorrow and trouble.
I understand, however in Indigenous culture we realize and accept that we are "pitiful human beings" and thus do and will stumble. This song, to me, is like an instruction. We have choices in how we walk in the world.

i feel this too
Absolutely brutal - such a sad, sad song delivered with hope and depth.
I adore this song. Thank you, sincerely, to everyone who brought it forth. May you all continue to thrive and grow as well. ❤❤❤
This is a blessing to all
Humans are complex creatures. In amongst the hatred and killing, we are capable of producing such beauty as this!

Lyrics
Enter the wild with care, my love, and speak the things you see
Let new names take and root and thrive and grow
And even as you travel far from heather, crag and river
May you like the little fisher, set the stream alight with glitter
May you enter now as otter without falter into water
Look to the sky with care, my love and speak the things you see
Let new names take and root and thrive and grow
And even as you journey on past dying stars exploding
Like the gilded one in flight, leave your little gifts of light
And in the dead of night my darling, find the gleaming eye of starling
Like the little aviator, sing your heart to all dark matter
Walk through the world with care, my love, and sing the things you see
Let new names take and root and thrive and grow
And even as you stumble through my hair sands eroding
Let the fern unfurl your grieving, let the heron still your breathing
Let the selkie swim you deeper, oh my little silver-seeker
Even as the hour grows bleaker, be the singer and the speaker
And in city and in forest, let the larks become your chorus
And when every hope is gone, let the raven call you home

One word…brilliant! Thank you.
We're learning this in choir as a four part harmony. Achingly poignant.
